1 A Psalm of David. Exult in the Lord, you just ones; together praise the upright.	1 - Salmo di David. Esultate, o giusti, nel Signore: ai retti si conviene il lodar[lo].
2 Confess to the Lord with stringed instruments; sing psalms to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.	2 Celebrate il Signore sulla cetra, sull'arpa a dieci corde inneggiate a lui.
3 Sing to him a new song. Sing psalms to him skillfully, with loud exclamation.	3 Cantategli un cantico nuovo, bellamente inneggiate a lui con suoni festanti.
4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are in faith.	4 Perché retta è la parola del Signore, e tutte le sue opere, fedeli.
5 He loves mercy and judgment. The earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.	5 egli ama la giustizia e il diritto: della bontà del Signore è piena la terra.
6 By the word of the Lord, the heavens were established, and all their power, by the Spirit of his mouth:	6 Per la parola del Signore furon stabiliti i cieli, e col soffio di sua bocca tutta la loro schiera.
7 gathering together the waters of the sea, as if in a container, placing the depths in storage.	7 E' raccoglie come in un otre le acque del mare, chiude in serbatoi gli abissi.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord, and may all the inhabitants of the world quake before him.	8 Tema il Signore tutta la terra, e davanti a lui tremino tutti gli abitanti dell'orbe.
9 For he spoke, and they became. He commanded, and they were created.	9 Perchè egli disse, e fu fatto: comandò, e fu creata [ogni cosa].
10 The Lord scatters the counsels of the nations. Moreover, he reproves the thoughts of the people, and he rejects the counsels of the leaders.	10 Il Signore abbatte i progetti delle genti, rigetta i pensieri de' popoli, rigetta i progetti de' principi.
11 But the counsel of the Lord remains for eternity, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.	11 Ma il disegno del Signore in eterno sussiste; i pensieri del suo cuore, di generazione in generazione.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his inheritance.	12 Beato il popolo il cui dio è il Signore, il popolo ch'egli s'è scelto in retaggio.
13 The Lord has looked down from heaven. He has seen all the sons of men.	13 Dal cielo guarda giù il Signore, vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini.
14 From his well-prepared dwelling place, he has gazed upon all who dwell on the earth.	14 Dalla salda sua sede guardasu tutti gli abitanti della terra,
15 He has formed the hearts of each one of them; he understands all their works.	15 egli che ad uno ad uno ha formato i loro cuori, egli che scruta tutte le opere loro.
16 The king is not saved by great power, nor will the giant be saved by his many powers.	16 Non si salva [e vince] il re per numeroso esercito, nè il prode si salva per grandezza di vigore.
17 The horse is false safety; for he will not be saved by the abundance of his powers.	17 Vano è il cavallo per la salvezza: con tutto il suo vigore non trarrà in salvo [il cavaliere].
18 Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him and on those who hope in his mercy,	18 [Ma] ecco, gli occhi del Signore son su coloro che lo temonoe su quelli che sperano nel suo favore,
19 so as to rescue their souls from death and to feed them during famine.	19 per strappar dalla morte le anime loroe sostentarli in [tempo di] fame.
20 Our soul remains with the Lord. For he is our helper and protector.	20 L'anima nostra spera nel Signore, perché aiuto egli è e protettore nostro.
21 For in him, our heart will rejoice, and in his holy name, we have hoped.	21 In lui s'allieta il nostro cuore, e nel suo santo nome speriamo.
22 Let your mercy be upon us, O Lord, just as we have hoped in you.	22 Sia il tuo favore, o Signore, su noi, sì come noi confidiamo in te!
