NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?	1 V'è tra di voi chi, avendo una questione con un altro, ha l'ardire di farsi giudicare dagli ingiusti anziché dai santi?
2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?	2 O non sapete che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? E se da voi viene giudicato il mondo, sareste dunque incapaci di giudizi da nulla?
3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.	3 Non sapete che giudicheremo gli angeli? Quanto più dunque le cose di questa vita!
4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!	4 Quando perciò doveste giudicare di affari quotidiani, designate a giudici i più umili della chiesa.
5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,	5 Lo dico per farvi arrossire! Cosicché non vi sarebbe nessuno tra di voi saggio da poter fare da intermediario tra i suoi fratelli?
6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?	6 Ma un fratello viene chiamato in giudizio dal fratello, e per di più davanti a infedeli!
7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?	7 Senza dire che è già una colpa per voi avere liti vicendevoli! Perché non subire piuttosto l'ingiustizia? Perché non lasciarvi piuttosto far torto?
8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.	8 Ma voi commettete ingiustizia e recate danno, e ciò ai fratelli!
9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,	9 O non sapete che gli ingiusti non erediteranno il regno di Dio? Non illudetevi: né gli impuri, né gli idolatri, né gli adùlteri,
10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.	10 né gli effeminati, né i depravati, né i ladri, né i cupidi, né gli ubriaconi, né i maldicenti, né i rapaci erediteranno il regno di Dio.
11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.	11 E tali eravate alcuni di voi; ma siete stati lavati, siete stati santificati, siete stati giustificati nel nome del Signore Gesù Cristo e nello Spirito del nostro Dio!
12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.	12 "Tutto mi è lecito"; ma non tutto giova! "Tutto mi è lecito"; ma io non mi lascerò dominare da nulla!
13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;	13 "I cibi sono per il ventre e il ventre per i cibi", ma Dio distruggerà questo e quelli! Il corpo non è per l'impudicizia, bensì per il Signore, e il Signore è per il corpo;
14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.	14 e Dio, che ha risuscitato il Signore, risusciterà anche noi con la sua potenza!
15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!	15 Non sapete che i vostri corpi sono membra di Cristo? Prenderò dunque le membra di Cristo e ne farò membra di meretrice? Non sia mai!
16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.	16 O non sapete che chi si unisce a una meretrice forma un corpo solo? I due formeranno, dice, una sola carne.
17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.	17 Ma chi si unisce al Signore forma con lui un solo spirito.
18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.	18 Fuggite l'impudicizia! Qualsiasi peccato l'uomo commetta, sta fuori del corpo; ma chi commette impudicizia pecca contro il proprio corpo.
19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?	19 O non sapete che il vostro corpo è santuario dello Spirito Santo che è in voi, che avete da Dio e che non appartenete a voi stessi?
20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.	20 Siete stati comprati a prezzo! Glorificate dunque Dio nel vostro corpo!
