1 Corinthians 6

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?	1 Quand l'un de vous a un différend avec un autre, ose-t-il bien aller en justice devant lesinjustes, et non devant les saints?
2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?	2 Ou bien ne savez-vous pas que les saints jugeront le monde? Et si c'est par vous que le mondedoit être jugé, êtes-vous indignes de prononcer sur des riens?
3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.	3 Ne savez-vous pas que nous jugerons les anges? A plus forte raison les choses de cette vie!
4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!	4 Et quand vous avez là-dessus des litiges, vous allez prendre pour juges des gens que l'Egliseméprise!
5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,	5 Je le dis à votre honte; ainsi, il n'y a parmi vous aucun homme sage, qui puisse servir d'arbitreentre ses frères!
6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?	6 Mais on va en justice frère contre frère, et cela devant des infidèles!
7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?	7 De toute façon, certes, c'est déjà pour vous une défaite que d'avoir des procès entre vous.Pourquoi ne pas souffrir plutôt l'injustice? Pourquoi ne pas vous laisser plutôt dépouiller?
8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.	8 Mais non, c'est vous qui commettez l'injustice et dépouillez les autres; et ce sont des frères!
9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,	9 Ne savez-vous pas que les injustes n'hériteront pas du Royaume de Dieu? Ne vous y trompezpas! Ni impudiques, ni idolâtres, ni adultères, ni dépravés, ni gens de moeurs infâmes,
10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.	10 ni voleurs, ni cupides, pas plus qu'ivrognes, insulteurs ou rapaces, n'hériteront du Royaumede Dieu.
11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.	11 Et cela, vous l'étiez bien, quelques-uns. Mais vous vous êtes lavés, mais vous avez étésanctifiés, mais vous avez été justifiés par le nom du Seigneur Jésus Christ et par l'Esprit de notre Dieu.
12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.	12 "Tout m'est permis"; mais tout n'est pas profitable. "Tout m'est permis"; mais je ne melaisserai, moi, dominer par rien.
13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;	13 Les aliments sont pour le ventre et le ventre pour les aliments, et Dieu détruira ceux-cicomme celui-là. Mais le corps n'est pas pour la fornication; il est pour le Seigneur, et le Seigneur pour le corps.
14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.	14 Et Dieu, qui a ressuscité le Seigneur, nous ressuscitera, nous aussi, par sa puissance.
15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!	15 Ne savez-vous pas que vos corps sont des membres du Christ? Et j'irais prendre les membresdu Christ pour en faire des membres de prostituée! Jamais de la vie!
16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.	16 Ou bien ne savez-vous pas que celui qui s'unit à la prostituée n'est avec elle qu'un seul corps?Car il est dit: Les deux ne seront qu'une seule chair.
17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.	17 Celui qui s'unit au Seigneur, au contraire, n'est avec lui qu'un seul esprit.
18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.	18 Fuyez la fornication! Tout péché que l'homme peut commettre est extérieur à son corps; celuiqui fornique, lui, pèche contre son propre corps.
19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?	19 Ou bien ne savez-vous pas que votre corps est un temple du Saint Esprit, qui est en vous etque vous tenez de Dieu? Et que vous ne vous appartenez pas?
20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.	20 Vous avez été bel et bien achetés! Glorifiez donc Dieu dans votre corps.
