1 Corinthians 5

1 It is widely reported that there is sexual immorality among you, immorality of a kind that is not foundeven among gentiles: that one of you is living with his stepmother.	1 Dappertutto s'intende dire che v’è tra voi un caso di impudicizia, e di impudicizia tale, che neppure si ha tra i pagani, a tal punto che uno convive con la moglie di suo padre.
2 And you so fil ed with your own self-importance! It would have been better if you had been grievingbitterly, so that the man who has done this thing were turned out of the community.	2 E voi siete ancora gonfi d’orgoglio. Avreste invece dovuto piangere, onde venisse tolto di mezzo a voi chi ha commesso tale vergogna!
3 For my part, however distant I am physical y, I am present in spirit and have already condemned theman who behaved in this way, just as though I were present in person.	3 Quanto a me, assente col corpo, ma presente con lo spirito, già ho giudicato come se fossi presente colui che ha agito così.
4 When you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence of my spirit, and inthe power of our Lord Jesus,	4 Quando, nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù, voi e il mio spirito saremo radunati insieme, sostenuti dal potere di Gesù nostro Signore,
5 hand such a man over to Satan, to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned, so that on the Dayof the Lord his spirit may be saved.	5 costui sarà consegnato a Satana, affinché la sua carne vada in rovina, ma la sua anima sia salva nel giorno del Signore.
6 Your self-satisfaction is il founded. Do you not realise that only a little yeast leavens the whole batch ofdough?	6 Non è brillante questo vostro motivo di vanto! Non sapete che un po’ di lievito fa fermentare tutto l’impasto?
7 Throw out the old yeast so that you can be the fresh dough, unleavened as you are. For our Passoverhas been sacrificed, that is, Christ;	7 Espellete il vecchio lievito, per essere un impasto nuovo come vi s’addice quali pani azzimi, dato che il nostro agnello pasquale, Cristo, è stato immolato.
8 let us keep the feast, then, with none of the old yeast and no leavening of evil and wickedness, but onlythe unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.	8 Di conseguenza, festeggiamo la Pasqua non con vecchio lievito, né col lievito della malizia e della perversità, ma con i pani azzimi, cioè in purezza e verità.
9 In my letter, I wrote to you that you should have nothing to do with people living immoral lives.	9 Vi scrissi nella mia lettera di non aver rapporti con gli impudichi;
10 I was not including everybody in this present world who is sexually immoral, or everybody who isgreedy, or dishonest or worships false gods -- that would mean you would have to cut yourselves off completelyfrom the world.	10 non però, in senso assoluto, con gli impudichi di questo mondo, o con gli avari e i ladri, o con gli idolatri, chè dovreste allora uscire dal mondo!
11 In fact what I meant was that you were not to have anything to do with anyone going by the name ofbrother who is sexual y immoral, or is greedy, or worships false gods, or is a slanderer or a drunkard ordishonest; never even have a meal with anybody of that kind.	11 Ma ora vi scrivo di non aver rapporti con chi, chiamandosi fratello, fosse un impudico, un avaro, un idolatra, un diffamatore, un ubriacone, un ladro; e di non mangiare neppure insieme con un simile individuo.
12 It is no concern of mine to judge outsiders. It is for you to judge those who are inside, is it not?	12 Quanto a quei di fuori, non tocca a me giudicarli. Non sono forse quei di dentro che voi giudicate?
13 But outsiders are for God to judge. You must banish this evil-doer from among you.	13 Quei di fuori, li giudicherà Iddio. Scacciate di mezzo a voi quel malvagio!
