1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 Et factum est verbum Do mini ad me dicens:
2 'Son of man, raise the lament for Tyre.	2 “Tu er go, fili hominis,assume super Tyrum lamentum
3 Say to Tyre, "City enthroned at the gateway of the sea, agent between the peoples and the manyislands, Lord Yahweh says this: Tyre, you used to say: I am a ship perfect in beauty.	3 et dices Tyro, quae habitat in introitu maris,negotiatrici populorum ad insulas multas: Haec dicit Dominus Deus: O Tyre, tu dixisti: “Perfecti decoris ego sum!”.
4 Your frontiers were far out to sea; those who built you made you perfect in beauty.	4 In corde maris fines tui; qui te aedificaverunt, impleverunt decorem tuum.
5 Cypress from Senir they used for al your planking. They took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mastabove you.	5 Abietibus de Sanir exstruxerunt tibi omnia tabulata; cedrum de libano tulerunt, ut facerent tibi malum;
6 From oaks of Bashan they made your oars. They built you a deck of cedar inlaid with ivory from theKittim isles.	6 quercus de Basan dolaverunt in remos tuos et transtra tua fecerunt ex ebore et cupressis de insulis Cetthim.
7 Embroidered linen from Egypt was used for your sail and for your flag. Purple and scarlet from theElishah islands formed your deck-tent.	7 Byssus varia texta de Aegypto erat tibi in velum, ut poneretur in malo, hyacinthus et purpura de insulis Elisa facta sunt operimentum tuum.
8 The people of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen. The sages of Tyre were aboard, serving assailors.	8 Habitatores Sidonis et Aradii fuerunt remiges tui; sapientes tui, Tyre, facti sunt nautae tui.
9 The elders and craftsmen of Gebal were there to caulk your seams. "Every sea-going ship and crewfrequented you to guarantee your trade.	9 Senes Gibli et prudentes eius fuerunt in te, ut sarcirent rimas tuas. Omnes naves maris et nautae earum fuerunt in te, ut mercarentur merces tuas.
10 Men from Persia, Lud and Put served as warriors in your army; hanging up shield and helmet in you,they displayed your splendour.	10 Persae et Lud et Phut erant in exercitu tuo, viri bellatores tui. Clipeum et galeam suspenderunt in te; ipsi dederunt tibi splendorem.
11 The sons of Arvad with their army manned your wal s al round, while the Gammadians manned yourtowers; hanging their shields al round your walls, they completed your beauty.	11 Filii Aradii cum exercitu tuo erant super muros tuos in circuitu, et Gammadiierant in turribus tuis. 12 Tarshish traded with you because of your abundant resources and exchanged your merchandise forsilver, iron, tin and lead.	12 Tharsis negotiatrix tua proptermultitudinem cunctarum divitiarum; argentum, ferrum, stannum plumbumque dederuntpro mercibus tuis.
13 Javan, Tubal and Meshech traded with you. For your merchandise they traded slaves and bronzeartefacts.	13 Iavan, Thubal et Mosoch ipsi institores tui; mancipia etvasa aerea adduxerunt tibi in commutationem populo tuo.
14 The people of Beth-Togarmah traded your horses, chargers, mules.	14 De domo Thogormaequos et equites et mulos adduxerunt pro mercibus tuis ad forum tuum;
15 The people of Dedan traded with you; many islands were your customers and paid you in ivory tusksand ebony.	15 filiiRhodi negotiatores tui; insulae multae negotiatio manus tuae: dentes eburneos etebenina reddiderunt tibi ut tributum.
16 Edom traded with you for the sake of your many manufactured goods, exchanging garnets, purple,embroideries, fine linen, coral and rubies for your goods.	16 Edom negotiator tuus proptermultitudinem operum tuorum; carbunculum, purpuram et scutulata et byssum etcorallia et rubinum attulerunt pro mercibus tuis.
17 Judah and the land of Israel also traded with you, bringing corn from Minnith, pannag, honey, oil andbalm.	17 Iuda et terra Israel ipsiinstitores tui; frumentum primum, balsamum et mel et oleum et resinam attulerunttibi in commutationem.
18 Damascus traded with you, for quantities of your manufactured goods and other goods of al kinds,furnishing you with wine from Helbon and wool from Zahar.	18 Damascenus negotiator tuus propter multitudinem operumtuorum, propter multitudinem diversarum opum; vinum de Helbon et lanam de Sahar
19 Dan and Javan, from Uzal onwards, supplied you with wrought iron, cassia and reeds in exchangefor your goods.	19 et vinum de Uzal pro mercibus tuis dederunt; ferrum fabrefactum, cassia etcalamus in commutatione tua erat.
20 Dedan traded with you in saddle-cloths.	20 Dedan institores tui in tapetibus adequitandum.
21 Arabia and al the sheikhs of Kedar were your customers; they paid in lambs, rams and he-goats.	21 Arabia et universi principes Cedar ipsi negotiatores manus tuae;cum agnis et arietibus et haedis, cum quibus erant negotiatores tui.
22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah traded with you; they supplied you with the finest spices,precious stones and gold for your merchandise.	22 Venditores Saba et Regma, ipsi negotiatores tui, universa prima aromata et omnemlapidem pretiosum et aurum dederunt pro mercibus tuis.
23 Haran, Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad traded with you.	23 Charran et Chenne etEden negotiatores tui; Saba, Assyria et Chelmad venditores tui.
24 They traded rich clothes, embroidered and purple cloaks, multi-coloured materials and strong plaitedcords for your markets.	24 Ipsinegotiatores tui cum vestibus splendidis, involucris hyacinthinis et polymitistexturisque discoloribus, funibus obvolutis et cedris in negotiationibus tuis.
25 Ships of Tarshish sailed on your business; you were ful and heavily loaded far out to sea.	25 Naves Tharsis, principes tui in negotiatione tua; et repleta es et glorificata nimis in corde maris.
26 Out to the open sea your oarsmen rowed you. The east wind has wrecked you far out to sea.	26 In aquis multis adduxerunt te remiges tui; ventus auster contrivit te in corde maris.
27 Your riches, your goods, your cargo, your seamen, your sailors, your caulkers, your commercialagents, all the warriors you carry, and al the passengers who are aboard wil founder far out to sea on the day ofyour shipwreck.	27 Divitiae tuae et thesauri tui et multiplices merces tuae, nautae tui et gubernatores tui, resarcientes rimas tuas et commutantes merces tuas, omnes quoque viri bellatores tui, qui sunt in te, cum universa multitudine tua, quae est in medio tui, cadent in corde maris in die ruinae tuae.
28 When they hear the cries of your sailors the coasts wil tremble.	28 A sonitu clamoris gubernatorum tuorum conturbabuntur litora.
29 Then the oarsmen will al desert their ships. The sailors and seafaring people wil stay ashore.	29 Et descendent de navibus suis omnes, qui tenebant remum; nautae et universi gubernatores maris in terra stabunt.
30 They will raise their voices for you and weep bitterly. They wil throw dust on their heads and roll inashes;	30 Et eiulabunt super te voce magna et clamabunt amare; et superiacient pulverem capitibus suis, in cinere volutabuntur.
31 they wil shave their heads for you and put sackcloth round their waists. With heartfelt bitterness theywil weep for you, bitterly wail.	31 Et radent super te calvitium et accingentur ciliciis et plorabunt te in amaritudine animae ploratu amarissimo;
32 Wailing, they will raise the lament for you, they wil lament over you: Who is like Tyre, far out to sea?	32 et assument super te congementes carmen lugubre et plangent te: “Quae est ut Tyrus, quae obmutuit in medio maris?
33 When you unloaded your goods to satisfy so many peoples, you enriched the kings of the earth withyour excess of wealth and goods.	33 Cum venissent merces tuae de mari, satiasti populos multos; in multitudine divitiarum tuarum et mercium tuarum ditasti reges terrae.
34 Now you have been wrecked by the waves, by the depths of the sea. Your cargo and all yourpassengers have foundered with you.	34 Nunc contrita es a mari in profundis aquarum. Opes tuae et omnis multitudo tua, quae erat in medio tui, ceciderunt.
35 Al those who live in the islands wil be stunned at your fate. Their kings wil quake with horror, withdowncast expressions.	35 Universi habitatores insularum obstupuerunt super te, et reges earum horrore formidarunt vultu conturbato;
36 The merchants of the nations wil whistle at your fate. You wil be an object of terror, gone for ever." '	36 negotiatores in populis sibilaverunt super te. In horrorem facta es et non eris usque in perpetuum” ”.
