1 E i principi delle famiglie di Levi andarono a trovar Eleazaro sommo sacerdote, e Giosuè figliuolo di Nun, e i capi delle famiglie di ogni tribù de' figliuoli d’Israele.	1 Then the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites came to Eleazar the priest and to Joshua the son of Nun and to the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the people of Israel;
2 E parlaron con essi in Silo nella terra di Canaan, e dissero: il Signore ordinò per mezzo di Mosè che fossero a noi assegnate delle città da abitare, co' loro sobborghi per nudrire il bestiame.	2 and they said to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, "The LORD commanded through Moses that we be given cities to dwell in, along with their pasture lands for our cattle."
3 E i figliuoli d'Israele dettero delle loro porzioni, secondo il comando del Signore, le città co' loro sobborghi.	3 So by command of the LORD the people of Israel gave to the Levites the following cities and pasture lands out of their inheritance.
4 Ed essendo uscita a sorte la famiglia di Caath, i figliuoli di Aronne sacerdote ebbero tredici città delle tribù di Giuda, e di Simeon, e di Beniamin:	4 The lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. So those Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest received by lot from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5 E agli altri figliuoli di Caath, che rimanevano, cioè a dire a' Leviti furon date dieci città delle tribù di Ephraim e di Dan e di mezza la tribù di Manasse.	5 And the rest of the Kohathites received by lot from the families of the tribe of Ephraim, from the tribe of Dan and the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6 Ai figliuoli di Gerson toccò in sorte di aver numero tredici città delle tribù d’Issachar, e di Aser, e di Nephtali e della mezza tribù di Manasse in Basan.	6 The Gersonites received by lot from the families of the tribe of Issachar, from the tribe of Asher, from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7 E a’ figliuoli di Merari distinti nelle loro famiglie, dodici città delle tribù di Ruben, e Gad, e Zabulon.	7 The Merarites according to their families received from the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad, and the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8 E diedero i figliuoli d'Israele a' Leviti le città co' loro sobborghi, come avea comandato il Signore per mezzo di Mosè distribuendole loro a sorte.	8 These cities and their pasture lands the people of Israel gave by lot to the Levites, as the LORD had commanded through Moses.
9 E questi sono i nomi delle città prese da' figliuoli di Giuda, e di Simeon, e assegnate da Giosuè.	9 Out of the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon they gave the following cities mentioned by name,
10 I figliuoli di Aronne della famiglia di Caath, della stirpe di Levi (che furono i primi a uscir a sorte) ebbero	10 which went to the descendants of Aaron, one of the families of the Kohathites who belonged to the Levites; since the lot fell to them first.
11 Cariath-Arbe del padre di Enac (detta Hebron sulla montagna di Giuda) col suo sobborgo che la circonda.	11 They gave them Kiriath-arba (Arba being the father of Anak), that is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, along with the pasture lands round about it.
12 I campi, e i villaggi di essa gli avea dati (Giosuè) a Caleb, figliuolo di Jephone per sua porzione.	12 But the fields of the city and its villages had been given to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as his possession.
13 Diede egli adunque ai figliuoli di Aronne sommo sacerdote Hebron città di rifugio col suo sobborgo: e Lobna col suo sobborgo:	13 And to the descendants of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron, the city of refuge for the slayer, with its pasture lands, Libnah with its pasture lands,
14 E Jether, ed Estemo,	14 Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
15 E Holon, e Dabir,	15 Holon with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,
16 E Ain, e Jeta, e Bethsames co' loro sobborghi: nove città di due tribù, conforme si è detto.	16 Ain with its pasture lands, Juttah with its pasture lands, Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands--nine cities out of these two tribes;
17 E della tribù de' figliuoli di Beniamin Gabaon, e Gabae,	17 then out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its pasture lands, Geba with its pasture lands,
18 E Anathoth, e Almon co' suoi sobborghi: quattro città.	18 Anathoth with its pasture lands, and Almon with its pasture lands--four cities.
19 Tutte insieme le città de' figliuoli di Aronne sommo sacerdote furon tredici, e loro sobborghi.	19 The cities of the descendants of Aaron, the priests, were in all thirteen cities with their pasture lands.
20 Agli altri figliuoli di Caath della stirpe di Levi distinti nelle loro famiglie furono assegnate:	20 As to the rest of the Kohathites belonging to the Kohathite families of the Levites, the cities allotted to them were out of the tribe of Ephraim.
21 Della tribù di Ephraim, per città di refugio Sichem co' suoi sobborghi sul monte Ephraim, e Gazer,	21 To them were given Shechem, the city of refuge for the slayer, with its pasture lands in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer with its pasture lands,
22 E Cibsaim, e Bethoron co’ suoi sobborghi, quattro città.	22 Kibza-im with its pasture lands, Beth-horon with its pasture lands--four cities;
23 Della tribù di Dan, Eltheco, e Gabathon,	23 and out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands,
24 E Ajalon, e Gethremmon co' loro sobborghi, quattro città.	24 Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands--four cities;
25 E della mezza tribù di Manasse Thanach, e Gethremmon co’ loro sobborghi, due città.	25 and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its pasture lands, and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands--two cities.
26 Dieci città in tutto coi loro sobborghi furono assegnate a' figliuoli di Caàth che erano di grado inferiore.	26 The cities of the families of the rest of the Kohathites were ten in all with their pasture lands.
27 Parimente a' figliuoli di Gerson della stirpe di Levi diede della mezza tribù di Manasse, le città del rifugio Gaulon in Basan, e Bosram co' Ioro sobborghi, due città.	27 And to the Gershonites, one of the families of the Levites, were given out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, and Beeshterah with its pasture lands--two cities;
28 Della tribù d’Issachar Cesion e Dabereth,	28 and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,
29 E Jaramoth, ed Engannim co’ loro sobborghi, quattro città.	29 Jarmuth with its pasture lands, En-gannim with its pasture lands--four cities;
30 Della tribù di Aser, Masal, e Abdon,	30 and out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,
31 E Helcath e Rohob coi loro sobborghi, quattro città.	31 Helkath with its pasture lands, and Rehob with its pasture lands--four cities;
32 Parimente della tribù di Nephtali, le città del rifugio Cedes nella Galilea, Hammoth-Dor, e Carthan co' loro sobborghi, tre città.	32 and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands, and Kartan with its pasture lands--three cities.

34 E a' figliuoli di Merari Leviti di grado inferiore distinti nelle loro famiglie, furon date della tribù di Zabulon Jecnam, e Cartha,	34 And to the rest of the Levites, the Merarite families, were given out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokne-am with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands,
35 E Damna, e Naalol, quattro città co’ loro sobborghi.	35 Dimnah with its pasture lands, Nahalal with its pasture lands--four cities;
36 Della tribù di Ruben di là dal Giordano dirimpetto a Gerico, le città del rifugio Bosor nel deserto, Misor, e Jaser, e Jethson, e Mephaath, quattro città co' loro sobborghi.	36 and out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands,
37 Della tribù di Gad, le città del rifugio Ramoth in Galaad, e Manaim, ed Hesebon, e Jaser, quattro città co' loro sobborghi.	37 Kedemoth with its pasture lands, and Mepha-ath with its pasture lands--four cities;
38 Tutte le città assegnate a' figliuoli di Merari distinti nelle loro famiglie, e casate furon dodici.	38 and out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its pasture lands, the city of refuge for the slayer, Mahanaim with its pasture lands,
39 Tutte adunque le città date a' Leviti in mezzo alle porzioni de' figliuoli d'Israele furono quarantotto	39 Heshbon with its pasture lands, Jazer with its pasture lands--four cities in all.
40 Co' loro sobborghi,e furono distribuite una per una secondo l’ordine delle famiglie.	40 As for the cities of the several Merarite families, that is, the remainder of the families of the Levites, those allotted to them were in all twelve cities.
41 E il Signore Dio diede ad Israele tutta la terra che avea promesso di dar loro col giuramento fattone a' loro padri: e la possedettero, e vi abitarono.	41 The cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the people of Israel were in all forty-eight cities with their pasture lands.
42 Ed ei diede loro la pace con tutte le nazioni circonvicine: e nissun nimico ardì di resistere ad essi; ma tutti furon soggettati al loro dominio.	42 These cities had each its pasture lands round about it; so it was with all these cities.
43 Una sola delle parole che egli avea promesso di adempire non restò indietro; ma tutte furon verificate dall'evento.	43 Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers; and having taken possession of it, they settled there.
	44 And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands.
	45 Not one of all the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
