1 La descendencia de Esaú –es decir, de Edom– es la siguiente:	1 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
2 Esaú tomó sus esposas de entre las mujeres cananeas: a Adá, hija de Elón, el hitita; a Oholibamá, hija de Aná, que a su vez era hijo de Sibeón, el jivita;	2 Esau took wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
3 y a Basmat, hija de Ismael y hermana de Nebaiot.	3 and Basemath, the daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth.
4 Adá fue madre de Elifaz; Basmat, madre de Reuel	4 Then Adah bore Eliphaz. Basemath conceived Reuel.
5 y Oholibamá, madre de Ieús, Ialam y Coré. Estos son los hijos que Esaú tuvo en Canaán.	5 Oholibamah conceived Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Después Esaú tomó a sus mujeres, a sus hijos e hijas, y a toda su servidumbre, su ganado, todos sus animales, y todos sus bienes que había adquirido en Canaán, y emigró a Seír, lejos de su hermano Jacob.	6 Then Esau took his wives, and sons, and daughters, and every soul of his house, and his substance, and cattle, and whatever he was able to obtain in the land of Canaan, and he went into another region, withdrawing from his brother Jacob.
7 Porque los dos tenían demasiadas posesiones para vivir juntos, y el territorio donde residían no daba abasto para tanto ganado.	7 For they were very wealthy and were not able to live together. Neither was the land of their sojourn able to sustain them, because of the multitude of their flocks.
8 Así Esaú se estableció en la montaña de Seír. Esaú es Edom.	8 And Esau lived at mount Seir: he is Edom.
9 Esta es la descendencia de Esaú, padre de Edom, en la montaña de Seír.	9 So these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, at mount Seir,
10 Los nombres de sus hijos son los siguientes: Elifaz, hijo de Adá, mujer de Esaú, y Reuel, hijo de Basmat, mujer de Esaú.	10 and these are the names of his sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah, the wife of Esau, likewise Reuel, the son of Basemath, his wife.
11 Los hijos de Elifaz fueron: Temán, Omar, Sefó, Gaetam y Quenaz.	11 And Eliphaz had sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenez.
12 Elifaz, el hijo de Esaú, también tuvo una esclava, Timná, que fue madre de Amalec. Estos son los descendientes de Adá, la mujer de Esaú.	12 Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau. And she bore him Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, the wife of Esau.
13 Los hijos de Reuel fueron: Nájat, Zéraj, Samá y Mizá. Estos son los descendientes de Basmat, la mujer de Esaú.	13 And the sons of Reuel were Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These are the sons of Basemath, the wife of Esau.
14 Y los hijos de la otra esposa de Esaú, Oholibamá, hija de Aná, el hijo de Sibeón, fueron Ieús, Ialam y Coré.	14 Likewise, these were the sons of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, the wife of Esau, whom she bore to him: Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

17 Los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú, fueron los clanes de Nájat, Zéraj, Samá y Mizá. Estos son los clanes de Reuel en el país de Edom, los que descienden de Basmat.	17 Likewise, these are the sons of Reuel, the son of Esau: leader Nahath, leader Zerah, leader Shammah, leader Mizzah. And these were the leaders of Reuel, in the land of Edom. These are the sons of Basemath, the wife of Esau.
18 Los hijos de Oholibamá, esposa de Esaú, fueron los clanes de Ieús, Ialam y Coré. Estos son los clanes de Oholibamá, hija de Aná, mujer de Esaú.	18 Now these are the sons of Oholibamah, the wife of Esau: leader Jeush, leader Jalam, leader Korah. These were the leaders of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah and the wife of Esau.
19 Estos son los hijos de Esaú –es decir, de Edom– con sus respectivos clanes.	19 These are the sons of Esau, and these were their leaders: this is Edom.
20 Los hijos de Seír, el hurrita, que vivían en aquella región son los siguientes: Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Aná,	20 These are the sons of Seir, the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos son los clanes de los hurritas, hijos de Seír, en el país de Edom.	21 and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan. These were the leaders of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
22 Los hijos de Lotán fueron Jorí y Hemam, y la hermana de Lotán fue Timná.	22 Now Lotan produced sons: Hori and Heman. But the sister of Lotan was Timna.
23 Los hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manájat, Ebal, Sefó y Onam.	23 And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, and Shepho, and Onam.
24 Los hijos de Sibeón: Aiá y Aná. Este es el mismo Aná que encontró las aguas termales en el desierto, mientras apacentaba los rebaños de su padre Sibeón.	24 And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, when he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
25 Los hijos de Aná fueron Disón y Oholibamá, hija de Aná.	25 And he had a son Dishon, and a daughter Oholibamah.
26 Los hijos de Disón fueron Jemdam, Esbán, Itrán y Querán.	26 And these are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Esheban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 Los hijos de Eser fueron Bilhán, Zaaván y Acán.	27 Likewise, these are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28 Los hijos de Disán fueron Us y Arán.	28 Then Dishan had sons: Uz and Aran.
29 Los clanes de los hurritas fueron Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Aná,	29 These were the leaders of the Horites: leader Lotan, leader Shobal, leader Zibeon, leader Anah,
30 Disón, Eser y Disán. Estos son, uno por uno los clanes de los hurritas en el territorio de Seír.	30 leader Dishon, leader Ezer, leader Disan. These were leaders of the Horites who ruled in the land of Seir.
31 Los reyes que reinaron en el país de Edom antes que ningún rey reinara sobre los israelitas son los siguientes:	31 Now before the sons of Israel had a king, the kings who ruled in the land of Edom were these:
32 Belá, hijo de Beor, reinó en Edom, y el nombre de su ciudad era Dinhabá.	32 Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 Cuando murió Belá, lo sucedió Iobab, hijo de Zéraj, de Bosrá.	33 Then Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah from Bozrah, reigned in his place.
34 Cuando murió Iobab, lo sucedió Jusam, del país de los temanitas.	34 And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
35 Cuando murió Jusam, lo sucedió Hadad, hijo de Bedad, el que derrotó a Madián en el campo de Moab; el nombre de su ciudad era Avit.	35 Likewise, this one having died, Hadad the son of Bedad reigned in his place. He struck down Midian in the region of Moab. And the name of his city was Avith.
36 Cuando murió Hadad, lo sucedió Samlá, de Masrecá.	36 And when Adad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
37 Cuando murió Samlá, lo sucedió Saúl, de Rejobot del Río.	37 Likewise, this one being dead, Shaul of the river Rehoboth, reigned in his place.
38 Cuando murió Saúl, lo sucedió Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor.	38 And when he also had passed away, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor, succeeded to the kingdom.
39 Cuando murió Baal Janán, hijo de Acbor, lo sucedió Hadad; el nombre de su ciudad era Pau, y el nombre de su mujer, Mehetabel, hija de Matred, que a su vez era hija de Mezahab.	39 Likewise, this one being dead, Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau. And his wife was called Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.
40 Los clanes de Esaú –cada uno con sus familias, sus localidades y sus nombres– son los siguientes: Timná, Alvá, Iétet.	40 Therefore, these were the names of the leaders of Esau, by their families, and places, and in their vocabulary: leader Timna, leader Alvah, leader Jetheth,
41 Oholibamá, Elá, Pinón	41 leader Oholibamah, leader Elah, leader Pinon,
42 Quenaz, Temán, Mibsar,	42 leader Kanez, leader Teman, leader Mibzar,
43 Magdiel e Iram. Estos son los clanes de Edom que residen en sus propios territorios. Esaú es el padre de Edom.	43 leader Magdiel, leader Iram. These were the leaders of Edom living in the land of their rule: this is Esau, the father of Idumea.
