¹ Halljátok, gyermekek, atyai intelmemet, és figyeljetek jól, hogy okosságot tanuljatok!	¹ Hear, O children, a father's instruction, be attentive, that you may gain understanding!
² Üdvös oktatásban részesítlek titeket, ezért el ne hagyjátok tanításomat!	² Yes, excellent advice I give you; my teaching do not forsake.
³ Hisz én is atyám gyermeke voltam, gyengéd és egyetlen anyám előtt.	³ When I was my father's child, frail, yet the darling of my mother,
⁴ Ő oktatott engem és így szólt: »Fogadja be szíved szavaimat, tartsd meg parancsaimat, akkor életed lesz!	⁴ He taught me, and said to me: "Let your heart hold fast my words: keep my commands, that you may live!
⁵ Szerezz bölcsességet, szerezz okosságot, meg ne feledkezz erről, és ne térj el szám igéitől!	⁵ "Get wisdom, get understanding! Do not forget or turn aside from the words I utter.
⁶ El ne hagyd azt, akkor megőriz téged, szeresd azt, akkor megtart téged!	⁶ Forsake her not, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will safeguard you;
⁷ A bölcsesség kezdete: szerezz bölcsességet, és minden jövedelmedből szerezz okosságot!	⁷ The beginning of wisdom is: get wisdom; at the cost of all you have, get understanding.
⁸ Ragadd meg azt, akkor felmagasztal téged, tisztességre juttat, ha magadhoz öleled.	⁸ Extol her, and she will exalt you; she will bring you honors if you embrace her;

¹¹ Eligazítlak a bölcsesség útján, és vezetlek az igazság ösvényein.	¹¹ On the way of wisdom I direct you, I lead you on straightforward paths.
¹² Ha azokon jársz, semmi sem zavarja járásodat, és nem botlasz meg, amikor szaladsz.	¹² When you walk, your step will not be impeded, and should you run, you will not stumble.
¹³ Tartsd meg a fegyelmet és el ne hagyd, őrizd meg, mert ez a te életed!	¹³ Hold fast to instruction, never let her go; keep her, for she is your life.
¹⁴ Ne gyönyörködj a gonoszok ösvényein, és ne leld tetszésedet a rosszak útjában!	¹⁴ The path of the wicked enter not, walk not on the way of evil men;
¹⁵ Fuss tőle és ne járj rajta, kerüld és hagyd el azt,	¹⁵ Shun it, cross it not, turn aside from it, and pass on.
¹⁶ hisz aludni sem tudnak, ameddig gonoszt nem cselekszenek, kerüli őket az álom, ameddig valakit meg nem ejtenek,	¹⁶ For they cannot rest unless they have done evil; to have made no one stumble steals away their sleep.
¹⁷ mert eszik a gonoszság kenyerét, és isszák az erőszak borát.	¹⁷ For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
¹⁸ Az igazak ösvénye pedig olyan, mint a derengő fény, amely mindinkább erősödik, amíg a nappal teljes lesz.	¹⁸ But the path of the just is like shining light, that grows in brilliance till perfect day.

²⁰ Fiam! Ügyelj szavaimra, nyisd meg füleidet igéimnek!	²⁰ My son, to my words be attentive, to my sayings incline your ear;
²¹ Ne távozzanak szemed elől, óvd őket szíved belsejében!	²¹ Let them not slip out of your sight, keep them within your heart;
²² Mert életet adnak megtalálóiknak, és gyógyulást az egész testnek.	²² For they are life to those who find them, to man's whole being they are health.
²³ Óvd a szívedet minden gonddal, mert az élet ebből fakad!	²³ With closest custody, guard your heart, for in it are the sources of life.
²⁴ Vesd el magadtól a száj hamisságát, s az ajkak alattomosságát tartsd távol magadtól!	²⁴ Put away from you dishonest talk, deceitful speech put far from you.
²⁵ Szemed egyenesen nézzen, és szempillád a lábad elé tekintsen!	²⁵ Let your eyes look straight ahead and your glance be directly forward.
²⁶ Egyengesd lábad ösvényét, és minden utad legyen céltudatos!	²⁶ Survey the path for your feet, and let all your ways be sure.
²⁷ Le ne térj se jobbra, se balra, fordítsd el lábadat a rossztól, mert a jobbra vivő utat az Úr ismeri, a balra tartók pedig gonoszak. Ő azonban egyenesekké teszi ösvényeidet, és útjaidat szerencsés véghez vezeti.	²⁷ Turn neither to right nor to left, keep your foot far from evil.
