Psalms 85

1 A Prayer of David himself. Incline your ear, O Lord, and hear me. For I am needy and poor.	1 Orazione di Davidde. Porgi, o Signore, le tue orecchie, ed esaudiscimi; perocché afflitto son io, e in povertà.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am holy. My God, bring salvation to your servant who hopes in you.	2 Custodisci l'anima mia, perché io sono a te consagrato; salva il tuo servo, o Dio, il quale in te spera.
3 O Lord, be merciful to me, for I have cried out to you all day long.	3 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, per ché tutto il giorno ho alzate a te le mie grida: consola l'anima del tuo servo, perché a te, o Signore, ho innalzata l'anima mia.
4 Give joy to the soul of your servant, for I have lifted up my soul to you, Lord.	4 Perocché soave se' tu, o Signore, e benigno, e di molta misericordia per quei, che ti invocano.
5 For you are sweet and mild, Lord, and plentiful in mercy to all who call upon you.	5 Odi propizio, o Dio, la mia orazione, e presta attenzione alla voce delle mie suppliche.
6 Pay attention, Lord, to my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplication.	6 A te alzai le mie grida nel giorno di mia tribolazione, perché tu mi esaudisci.
7 In the day of my tribulation, I cried out to you, because you heeded me.	7 Niuno è simile a te tragli dei, o Signore, e niuno, che imitar possa le opere tue.
8 There is no one like you among the gods, O Lord, and there is no one like you in your works.	8 Le nazioni tutte, quante ne sono state fatte da te, verranno, e te adoreranno, o Signore, e daran gloria al nome tuo.
9 All the nations, which you have made, will draw near and adore in your presence, O Lord. And they will glorify your name.	9 Perché tu se' grande, e fai opere meravigliose: tu solo se' Dio.
10 For you are great, and you perform wonders. You alone are God.	10 Conducimi nella tua via, o Signore, e io camminerò nella tua verità: si rallegri il mio cuore in temendo il tuo nome.
11 Lead me, O Lord, in your way, and I will walk in your truth. May my heart rejoice, so that it will fear your name.	11 A te io darò laude, o Signore Dio mio, con tutto il mio cuore: e in eterno glorificherò il nome tuo;
12 I will confess to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart. And I will glorify your name in eternity.	12 Perocché grande ell' è la misericordia tua sopra di me, e l'anima mia hai tratta fuori dall'inferno profondo.
13 For your mercy toward me is great, and you have rescued my soul from the lower part of Hell.	13 O Dio, gli iniqui han cospirato contro di me, e una turba di potenti ha assalito l'anima mia, ed eglino non si figurano, che tu sii ad essi presente.
14 O God, the iniquitous have risen up against me, and the synagogue of the powerful have sought my soul, and they have not placed you in their sight.	14 Ma tu, Signore Dio buono, e benefico, e paziente, e di molta misericordia, e verace,
15 And you, Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, being patient and full of mercy and truthful.	15 Volgi il tuo sguardo a me, e abbi di me pietà: da il tuo impero al tuo servo, e salva il figliuolo di tua ancella.
16 Look down upon me and have mercy on me. Grant your authority to your servant, and bring salvation to the son of your handmaid.	16 Fa un segno buono per me, affinché color che mi odiano, veggano per loro vergogna, come tu, o Signore, mi hai dato aiuto, e mi hai consolato.
17 Make me a sign of what is good, so that those who hate me, may look and be confounded. For you, O Lord, have helped me and consoled me.
