CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINDOUAI-RHEIMS
A Prayer of David himself. Incline your ear, O Lord, and hear me. For I am needy and poor.1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core, a psalm.
Preserve my soul, for I am holy. My God, bring salvation to your servant who hopes in you.2 Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.
O Lord, be merciful to me, for I have cried out to you all day long.3 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins.
Give joy to the soul of your servant, for I have lifted up my soul to you, Lord.4 Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou best turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.
For you are sweet and mild, Lord, and plentiful in mercy to all who call upon you.5 Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.
Pay attention, Lord, to my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplication.6 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?
In the day of my tribulation, I cried out to you, because you heeded me.7 Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee.
There is no one like you among the gods, O Lord, and there is no one like you in your works.8 Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.
All the nations, which you have made, will draw near and adore in your presence, O Lord. And they will glorify your name.9 I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.
For you are great, and you perform wonders. You alone are God.10 Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land.
Lead me, O Lord, in your way, and I will walk in your truth. May my heart rejoice, so that it will fear your name.11 Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.
I will confess to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart. And I will glorify your name in eternity.12 Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.
For your mercy toward me is great, and you have rescued my soul from the lower part of Hell.13 For the Lord will give goodness: and our earth shall yield her fruit.
O God, the iniquitous have risen up against me, and the synagogue of the powerful have sought my soul, and they have not placed you in their sight.14 Justice shall walk before him: and shall set his steps in the way.
And you, Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, being patient and full of mercy and truthful.
Look down upon me and have mercy on me. Grant your authority to your servant, and bring salvation to the son of your handmaid.
Make me a sign of what is good, so that those who hate me, may look and be confounded. For you, O Lord, have helped me and consoled me.
