Job 35

1 After this, Eliu again spoke in this way:	1 Adunque Eliu anche queste cose disse:
2 Does it seem right to you in your thoughts, that you should say, “I am more just than God?”	2 Or parti qui eguale lo tuo pensiero, che tu dicesti io sono più giusto che Iddio?
3 For you said, “Having done what is right does not please you,” and, “How will it benefit you, if I sin?”	3 Anche dicesti: non piace a te quello che è diritto ovvero, che ti farà prò se io peccai?
4 And so, I will respond to your words, and to your friends who are with you.	4 Adunque io risponderoe a' tuoi sermoni, e agli amici tuoi teco,
5 Look up towards heaven and consider; also, think about the sky, which is higher than you.	5 Guarda lo cielo, e ragguarda, e contempla l'aria, che sia più alta di te.
6 If you sin, how will it hurt him? And if your iniquities are multiplied, what will you do against him?	6 Se peccherai, che nuocerai a lui? e se moltiplicate saranno le tue iniquitadi, che farai contro a lui?
7 Furthermore, if you act justly, what will you give him, or what will he receive from your hand?	7 E se pur giustamente farai, che donerai a lui, ovvero che torrà dalla mano tua?
8 Your impiety may hurt a man who is like you, though your justice may help the son of the man.	8 All' uomo, che è simile a te, nuocerà la tua iniquità; e lo figliuolo dell' uomo aiuterae la tua giustizia.
9 Because of the multitude of false accusers, they will cry out; and they will lament because of the strong arm of the tyrants.	9 Per la moltitudine delli calunniatori piangeranno; e urleranno per la forza del braccio de' tiranni.
10 Yet he has not said: “Where is God, who made me, who has given songs in the night,	10 E non disse: dove è Iddio, il quale fece me, il quale diede li versi nella notte?
11 who teaches us in addition to the beasts of the earth, and who educates us along with the birds of the air?”	11 il quale ammaestra noi sopra le bestie della terra, e sopra li uccelli del cielo ammaestra noi?
12 There they will cry, and he will not heed them, because of the arrogance of the wicked.	12 Lui chiameranno, e non esaudirà per la (sua) superbia de' rei.
13 Therefore, God does not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into each and every case.	13 Adunque non udirae Iddio indarno, e lo Onnipotente ragguarderà la cagione di ciascuno.
14 And so, when you say, “He does not examine,” be judged before him, but wait for him.	14 Ancora quando tu dirai: non considera; giudicare dinanzi a lui, e aspetta lui.
15 For, at the present time, he does not bring forth his fury, nor does he punish sin exceedingly.	15 E ora non dae lo suo furore, nè della fellonia si vendica fortemente.
16 Therefore, Job has opened his mouth in vain and has multiplied words without knowledge.	16 Adunque Iob indarno aperse la sua bocca, e sanza scienza le parole moltiplica.
