Seconda lettera di Pietro - (מכתב שני של פיטר) 2

1 ועתה קדם כל דבר אבקשה מכם לשאת תפלות ותחנונים ובקשות ותודות בעד כל בני אדם	1 I urge then, first of al that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving should be offered foreveryone,
2 בעד המלכים וכל השליטים למען נחיה חיי השקט ובטח בכל חסידות וישר	2 for kings and others in authority, so that we may be able to live peaceful and quiet lives with al devotionand propriety.
3 כי כן טוב ורצוי בעיני אלהים מושיענו	3 To do this is right, and acceptable to God our Saviour:
4 אשר חפצו שיושעו כל בני האדם ויגיעו להכרת האמת	4 he wants everyone to be saved and reach full knowledge of the truth.
5 כי אחד הוא האלהים ואחד הוא העמד בין אלהים ובין בני אדם הוא בן אדם המשיח ישוע	5 For there is only one God, and there is only one mediator between God and humanity, himself a humanbeing, Christ Jesus,
6 אשר נתן את נפשו כפר בעד כל וזאת העדות הבאה בעתה	6 who offered himself as a ransom for al . This was the witness given at the appointed time,
7 אשר אני הפקדתי לה לכרוז ולשליח אמת אני אמר במשיח ולא אשקר מורה הגוים באמונה ובאמת	7 of which I was appointed herald and apostle and -- I am telling the truth and no lie -- a teacher of thegentiles in faith and truth.
8 לכן רצוני שיתפללו האנשים בכל מקום וישאו ידיהם קדש בלי כעס ומדון	8 In every place, then, I want the men to lift their hands up reverently in prayer, with no anger or argument.
9 וכן גם הנשים תתיפינה בתלבשת נאה עם בשת פנים וצניעות לא במחלפות הראש לא בזהב לא בפנינים ולא במלבושים יקרים	9 Similarly, women are to wear suitable clothes and to be dressed quietly and modestly, without braidedhair or gold and jewellery or expensive clothes;
10 אלא כמו שהוא הגון לנשים אשר בחרו להן יראת אלהים במעשים טובים	10 their adornment is to do the good works that are proper for women who claim to be religious.
11 האשה תלמד דומם בכל הכנעה	11 During instruction, a woman should be quiet and respectful.
12 ואינני נתן רשות לאשה ללמד אף לא להתנשא על האיש אלא תדום	12 I give no permission for a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. A woman ought to be quiet,
13 כי אדם נוצר בראשונה ואחריו חוה	13 because Adam was formed first and Eve afterwards,
14 ואדם לא נפתה כי האשה שמעה לקול המשיא ותבא לידי עברה	14 and it was not Adam who was led astray but the woman who was led astray and fell into sin.
15 אבל תושע בלדתה בנים אם תעמדנה באמונה ובאהבה ובקדשה עם הצניעות	15 Nevertheless, she will be saved by child-bearing, provided she lives a sensible life and is constant infaith and love and holiness.
