Livre de Zacharie 7

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La quatrième année du roi Darius, la parole de Yahvé fut adressée à Zacharie, le quatrième jour duneuvième mois, le mois de Kisleu.	1 In the fourth year of King Darius, the word of Yahweh was addressed to Zechariah on the fourth day ofthe ninth month, the month of Chislev.
2 Béthel envoya Saréçer avec ses gens pour implorer la face de Yahvé	2 Bethel sent Sharezer with a deputation to entreat Yahweh's favour
3 et dire aux prêtres de Yahvé Sabaot ainsi qu'aux prophètes: "Dois-je pleurer au cinquième mois enfaisant des abstinences comme j'ai fait déjà tant d'années?"	3 and to ask the priests in the Temple of Yahweh Sabaoth and the prophets, 'Ought I to go on mourningand fasting in the fifth month as I have been doing for so many years past?'
4 Alors la parole de Yahvé Sabaot me fut adressée en ces termes:	4 Then the word of Yahweh Sabaoth was addressed to me as fol ows,
5 Dis à tout le peuple du pays et aux prêtres: "Quand vous avez jeûné et gémi aux cinquième etseptième mois, depuis déjà 70 ans, est-ce pour l'amour de moi que vous avez multiplié vos jeûnes?	5 'Say to al the people of the country and to the priests, "While you have been fasting and mourning inthe fifth and seventh months for the past seventy years, have you real y been fasting for my sake?
6 Et quand vous mangiez et buviez, n'étaient-ce pas vous les mangeurs et les buveurs?	6 And when you were eating and drinking, were you not eating and drinking for your own sake?
7 Ne connaissez-vous pas les paroles que Yahvé proclamait par le ministère des prophètes du passé,quand Jérusalem était habitée et tranquille, avec ses villes alentour, et que le Négeb et le Bas-Pays étaientpeuplés?	7 Do you not know the words which Yahweh proclaimed through the prophets in the past, whenJerusalem was inhabited and secure, as were her surrounding towns, and when the Negeb and the lowlandswere inhabited?" ' (
8 (La parole de Yahvé fut adressée à Zacharie en ces termes:	8 The word of Yahweh was addressed to Zechariah as fol ows,
9 Ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot.) Il disait: Rendez une justice vraie et pratiquez bonté et compassionchacun envers son frère.	9 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this.) He said, "Apply the law fairly, and show faithful love and compassion towards one another.
10 N'opprimez point la veuve et l'orphelin, l'étranger et le pauvre, et ne méditez pas en votre coeurdu mal l'un envers l'autre.	10 Do not oppress the widow and the orphan, the foreigner and the poor, and do not secretly plan evilagainst one another."
11 Mais ils ne voulurent pas être attentifs: ils me présentèrent une épaule rebelle; ils endurcirentleurs oreilles pour ne pas entendre;	11 But they would not listen; they turned a rebel ious shoulder; they stopped their ears rather than hear;
12 ils firent de leur coeur un diamant, de peur d'écouter l'instruction et les paroles que Yahvé Sabaotavait envoyées - par son esprit - par le ministère des prophètes du passé. Alors il y eut une grande colère de lapart de Yahvé Sabaot.	12 they made their hearts adamant rather than listen to the teaching and the words that Yahweh Sabaothhad sent -- by his spirit -- through the prophets in the past; and consequently the fury of Yahweh Sabaothovertook them.
13 Et il se passa ceci: puisqu'il lançait des appels, et qu'eux n'entendaient pas, de même ils lancerontdes appels et je n'entendrai pas, dit Yahvé Sabaot,	13 And so, since when he cal ed they would not listen, "I would not listen when they called", says YahwehSabaoth,
14 je les ai dispersés chez toutes les nations qu'ils ne connaissaient pas; de la sorte, le pays futdévasté derrière eux; plus personne n'allait et venait. D'une terre de délices, ils firent un désert!"	14 "but scattered them among al the nations unknown to them. Hence, after they had gone, the countrywas deserted, and no one came or went. They had turned a land of delights into a desert." '
