1 Les chefs de famille du clan des fils de Galaad, fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, l'un des clans desfils de Joseph, se présentèrent. Ils prirent la parole en présence de Moïse et des princes, chefs de famille desIsraélites,	1 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
2 et dirent: "Yahvé a ordonné à Monseigneur de donner le pays aux Israélites en le répartissant parle sort; et Monseigneur a reçu de Yahvé l'ordre de donner la part d'héritage de Celophehad, notre frère, à sesfilles.	2 And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
3 Or, si elles épousent un membre d'une autre tribu israélite, leur part sera retranchée de la part denos pères. La part de la tribu à laquelle elles vont appartenir sera augmentée, et la part que le sort nous a donnéesera réduite.	3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
4 Et quand viendra le jubilé pour les Israélites, la part de ces femmes sera ajoutée à la part de latribu à laquelle elles vont appartenir, et elle sera retranchée de la part de notre tribu."	4 And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
5 Moïse, sur l'ordre de Yahvé, donna cet ordre aux Israélites. Il dit: "La tribu des fils de Joseph aparlé juste.	5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
6 Voici ce que Yahvé ordonne pour les filles de Celophehad: Elles épouseront qui bon leursemblera, pourvu qu'elles se marient dans un clan de la tribu de leur père.	6 This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
7 La part des Israélites ne passera pas de tribu à tribu; les Israélites resteront attachés chacun à lapart de sa tribu.	7 So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 Toute fille qui possède une part dans l'une des tribus Israélites devra se marier dans un clan de satribu paternelle, de sorte que les Israélites conservent chacun la part de son père.	8 And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
9 Une part ne pourra être transférée d'une tribu à l'autre: chacune des tribus des Israélites resteraattachée à sa part."	9 Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.
10 Les filles de Celophehad firent comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.	10 Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:
11 Mahla, Tirça, Hogla, Milka et Noa, filles de Celophehad, épousèrent les fils de leurs onclespaternels.	11 For Mahlal, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons:
12 Comme elles s'étaient mariées dans des clans des fils de Manassé, fils de Joseph, c'est à la tribudu clan de leur père que revint leur part.	12 And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13 Tels sont les commandements et les lois que Yahvé prescrivit aux Israélites, par l'intermédiairede Moïse, dans les Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain, vers Jéricho.	13 These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
