| 1 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes: | 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, |
| 2 Et toi, fils d'homme, jugeras-tu? Jugeras-tu la ville sanguinaire? Fais-lui connaître toutes sesabominations. | 2 "And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Then declare to her all her abominable deeds. |
| 3 Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Ville qui répands le sang au milieu de toi pour faire venirton heure, qui as fabriqué des ordures sur ton sol pour te souiller, | 3 You shall say, Thus says the Lord GOD: A city that sheds blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that makes idols to defile herself! |
| 4 par le sang que tu as répandu tu t'es rendue coupable, par les ordures que tu as fabriquées tu t'essouillée, tu as fait avancer ton heure, tu es arrivée au terme de tes années. C'est pourquoi j'ai fait de toi un objetde raillerie pour les nations et de moquerie pour tous les pays. | 4 You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and defiled by the idols which you have made; and you have brought your day near, the appointed time of your years has come. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. |
| 5 Proches ou lointains, ils se moqueront de toi, ville au nom souillé, pleine de désordres. | 5 Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult. |
| 6 Voici, chez toi tous les princes d'Israël ont été occupés, chacun pour son compte, à répandre lesang. | 6 "Behold, the princes of Israel in you, every one according to his power, have been bent on shedding blood. |
| 7 Chez toi on a méprisé son père et sa mère, on a maltraité l'étranger qui était chez toi; chez toi on aopprimé l'orphelin et la veuve. | 7 Father and mother are treated with contempt in you; the sojourner suffers extortion in your midst; the fatherless and the widow are wronged in you. |
| 8 Tu as été sans respect pour mes sanctuaires, tu as profané mes sabbats. | 8 You have despised my holy things, and profaned my sabbaths. |
| 9 Il y avait chez toi des dénonciateurs pour faire verser le sang. Chez toi on a mangé sur lesmontagnes et on a commis l'infamie au milieu de toi. | 9 There are men in you who slander to shed blood, and men in you who eat upon the mountains; men commit lewdness in your midst. |
| 10 Chez toi on a découvert la nudité de son père, chez toi on a fait violence à la femme en étatd'impureté. | 10 In you men uncover their fathers' nakedness; in you they humble women who are unclean in their impurity. |
| 11 L'un a commis l'abomination avec la femme du prochain, l'autre s'est souillé de manière infâmeavec sa belle-fille, un autre a fait violence à sa soeur, à la fille de son père, chez toi. | 11 One commits abomination with his neighbor's wife; another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; another in you defiles his sister, his father's daughter. |
| 12 On a reçu des présents, chez toi, pour répandre le sang; tu as pris usure et intérêts, tu as dépouilléton prochain par la violence, et moi, tu m'as oublié, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé. | 12 In you men take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and increase and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; and you have forgotten me, says the Lord GOD. |
| 13 Mais voici que je vais battre des mains à cause des brigandages que tu as commis et du sang quicoule au milieu de toi. | 13 "Behold, therefore, I strike my hands together at the dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been in the midst of you. |
| 14 Ton coeur pourra-t-il résister et tes mains rester fermes, le jour où je m'en prendrai à toi? Moi,Yahvé, j'ai dit et je fais. | 14 Can your courage endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it. |
| 15 Je te disséminerai parmi les nations, je te disperserai dans les pays étrangers, j'effacerail'impureté de chez toi; | 15 I will scatter you among the nations and disperse you through the countries, and I will consume your filthiness out of you. |
| 16 tu seras profanée par ta faute, aux yeux des nations, et tu sauras que je suis Yahvé. | 16 And I shall be profaned through you in the sight of the nations; and you shall know that I am the LORD." |
| 17 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes: | 17 And the word of the LORD came to me: |
| 18 Fils d'homme, la maison d'Israël est devenue pour moi un métal impur; ils sont tous du cuivre,de l'étain, du fer et du plomb dans une fournaise: c'est un métal impur. | 18 "Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me; all of them, silver and bronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace, have become dross. |
| 19 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Puisque vous êtes tous du métal impur, eh bien! jevais vous rassembler au milieu de Jérusalem. | 19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. |
| 20 Comme on rassemble argent, cuivre, fer, plomb et étain dans une fournaise pour attiser le feudessus et les faire fondre, ainsi je vous rassemblerai dans ma colère et ma fureur et je vous ferai fondre; | 20 As men gather silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into a furnace, to blow the fire upon it in order to melt it; so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will put you in and melt you. |
| 21 je vous amasserai et j'attiserai contre vous le feu de mon emportement, et je vous ferai fondre aumilieu de la ville. | 21 I will gather you and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the midst of it. |
| 22 Comme on fond l'argent au milieu de la fournaise, ainsi serez-vous fondus au milieu d'elle, etvous saurez que c'est moi, Yahvé, qui ai déversé ma fureur sur vous. | 22 As silver is melted in a furnace, so you shall be melted in the midst of it; and you shall know that I the LORD have poured out my wrath upon you." |
| 23 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes: | 23 And the word of the LORD came to me: |
| 24 Fils d'homme, dis-lui: Tu es une terre qui n'a reçu ni pluie ni averse au jour de la colère, | 24 "Son of man, say to her, You are a land that is not cleansed, or rained upon in the day of indignation. |
| 25 les princes qui t'habitent sont comme un lion rugissant qui déchire sa proie. Ils ont dévoré lesgens, pris les richesses et les bijoux, multiplié les veuves au milieu d'elle. | 25 Her princes in the midst of her are like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured human lives; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in the midst of her. |
| 26 Ses prêtres ont violé ma loi et profané mes sanctuaires; entre le saint et le profane, ils n'ont pasfait de différence et ils n'ont pas enseigné à distinguer l'impur et le pur. Ils ont détourné les yeux de mes sabbatset j'ai été déshonoré parmi eux. | 26 Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things; they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have disregarded my sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. |
| 27 Ses chefs, au milieu d'elle, sont comme des loups qui déchirent leur proie et versent le sang,faisant périr les gens pour voler leurs biens. | 27 Her princes in the midst of her are like wolves tearing the prey, shedding blood, destroying lives to get dishonest gain. |
| 28 Ses prophètes ont masqué cela sous leurs visions vaines et leurs présages menteurs, disant:"Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé", alors que Yahvé n'avait pas parlé. | 28 And her prophets have daubed for them with whitewash, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' when the LORD has not spoken. |
| 29 Le peuple du pays a multiplié violence et brigandage, il a opprimé le pauvre et le malheureux, etfait violence à l'étranger sans aucun droit. | 29 The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery; they have oppressed the poor and needy, and have extorted from the sojourner without redress. |
| 30 J'ai cherché parmi eux quelqu'un qui construise une enceinte et qui se tienne debout sur labrèche, devant moi, pour défendre le pays et m'empêcher de le détruire, et je n'ai trouvé personne. | 30 And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none. |
| 31 Alors j'ai déversé sur eux ma fureur; dans le feu de mon emportement, je les ai exterminés. J'aifait retomber leur conduite sur leur tête, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé. | 31 Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath; their way have I requited upon their heads, says the Lord GOD." |
