Lévitique 24

JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	1 The LORD said to Moses,
2 Ordonne aux Israélites de t'apporter de l'huile d'olives broyées pour le candélabre, et d'y fairemonter une flamme permanente.	2 "Order the Israelites to bring you clear oil of crushed olives for the light, so that you may keep lamps burning regularly.
3 C'est devant le rideau du Témoignage, dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, qu'Aaron disposera cetteflamme. Elle sera là devant Yahvé du soir au matin, en permanence. Ceci est un décret perpétuel pour vosdescendants:	3 In the meeting tent, outside the veil that hangs in front of the commandments, Aaron shall set up the lamps to burn before the LORD regularly, from evening till morning. Thus, by a perpetual statute for you and your descendants,
4 Aaron disposera les lampes sur le candélabre pur, devant Yahvé, en permanence.	4 the lamps shall be set up on the pure gold lampstand, to burn regularly before the LORD.
5 Tu prendras de la fleur de farine et tu en feras cuire douze gâteaux, chacun de deux dixièmes.	5 "You shall take fine flour and bake it into twelve cakes, using two tenths of an ephah of flour for each cake.
6 Puis tu les placeras en deux rangées de six sur la table pure qui est devant Yahvé.	6 These you shall place in two piles, six in each pile, on the pure gold table before the LORD.
7 Sur chaque rangée tu déposeras de l'encens pur. Ce sera l'aliment offert en mémorial, un metspour Yahvé.	7 On each pile put some pure frankincense, which shall serve as an oblation to the LORD, a token offering for the bread.
8 C'est chaque jour de sabbat qu'en permanence on les disposera devant Yahvé. Les Israélites lesfourniront à titre d'alliance perpétuelle;	8 Regularly on each sabbath day this bread shall be set out afresh before the LORD, offered on the part of the Israelites by an everlasting agreement.
9 ils appartiendront à Aaron et à ses fils, qui les mangeront en un lieu sacré, car c'est pour lui unepart très sainte des mets de Yahvé. C'est une loi perpétuelle.	9 It shall belong to Aaron and his sons, who must eat it in a sacred place, since, as something most sacred among the various oblations to the LORD, it is his by perpetual right."
10 Le fils d'une Israélite, mais dont le père était égyptien, sortit de sa maison et, se trouvant aumilieu des Israélites, il se prit de querelle dans le camp avec un homme qui était israélite.	10 Among the Israelites there was a man born of an Israelite mother (Shelomith, daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan) and an Egyptian father.
11 Or le fils de l'Israélite blasphéma le Nom et le maudit. On le conduisit alors à Moïse (le nom dela mère était Shelomit, fille de Dibri, de la tribu de Dan).	11 This man quarreled publicly with another Israelite and cursed and blasphemed the LORD'S name. So the people brought him to Moses,
12 On le mit sous bonne garde pour n'en décider que sur l'ordre de Yahvé.	12 who kept him in custody till a decision from the LORD should settle the case for them.
13 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	13 The LORD then said to Moses,
14 Fais sortir du camp celui qui a prononcé la malédiction. Tous ceux qui l'ont entendu poserontleurs mains sur sa tête et toute la communauté le lapidera.	14 "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and when all who heard him have laid their hands on his head, let the whole community stone him.
15 Puis tu parleras ainsi aux Israélites: Tout homme qui maudit son Dieu portera le poids de sonpéché.	15 Tell the Israelites: Anyone who curses his God shall bear the penalty of his sin;
16 Qui blasphème le nom de Yahvé devra mourir, toute la communauté le lapidera. Qu'il soitétranger ou citoyen, il mourra s'il blasphème le Nom.	16 whoever blasphemes the name of the LORD shall be put to death. The whole community shall stone him; alien and native alike must be put to death for blaspheming the LORD'S name.
17 Si un homme frappe un être humain, quel qu'il soit, il devra mourir.	17 "Whoever takes the life of any human being shall be put to death;
18 Qui frappe un animal en doit donner la compensation: vie pour vie.	18 whoever takes the life of an animal shall make restitution of another animal. A life for a life!
19 Si un homme blesse un compatriote, comme il a fait on lui fera:	19 Anyone who inflicts an injury on his neighbor shall receive the same in return.
20 fracture pour fracture, oeil pour oeil, dent pour dent. Tel le dommage que l'on inflige à unhomme, tel celui que l'on subit:	20 Limb for limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth! The same injury that a man gives another shall be inflicted on him in return.
21 qui frappe un animal en doit donner compensation et qui frappe un homme doit mourir.	21 Whoever slays an animal shall make restitution, but whoever slays a man shall be put to death.
22 La sentence sera chez vous la même, qu'il s'agisse d'un citoyen ou d'un étranger, car je suisYahvé votre Dieu.	22 You shall have but one rule, for alien and native alike. I, the LORD, am your God."
23 Moïse ayant ainsi parlé aux Israélites, ils firent sortir du camp celui qui avait prononcé lamalédiction et ils le lapidèrent. Ils accomplirent ainsi ce que Yahvé avait ordonné à Moïse.	23 When Moses told this to the Israelites, they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him; they carried out the command that the LORD had given Moses.
