JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël. Il était en effet le premier-né; mais quand il eut violé lacouche de son père, son droit d'aînesse fut donné aux fils de Joseph, fils d'Israël, et il ne fut plus compté commeaîné.	1 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel. He was indeed the first-born but, when he defiled his father's bed,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he was no longer reckoned as the eldest son.
2 Juda prévalut sur ses frères et obtint un prince issu de lui, mais le droit d'aînesse appartenait àJoseph.	2 Although Judah grew greater than his brothers and a leader came from him, the birthright wasJoseph's.
3 Fils de Ruben premier-né d'Israël: Hénok, Pallu, Heçrôn, Karmi.	3 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Henoch, Pal u, Hezron, Carmi.

8 Béla fils de Azaz, fils de Shéma, fils de Yoël. C'est Ruben qui, établi à Aroër, s'étendaitjusqu'à Nebo et Baal-Meôn.	8 and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. It was Reuben who lived in Aroer and his territoryextended as far as Nebo and Baal-Meon.

10 Au temps de Saül, ils firent la guerre aux Hagrites, ils tombèrent entre leurs mains et lesHagrites s'établirent dans leurs tentes sur toute la zone orientale de Galaad.	10 In the time of Saul, they made war on the Hagrites, whom they defeated and who were then living intheir tents throughout the eastern front of Gilead.
11 A leur côté, les fils de Gad habitaient le pays du Bashân jusqu'à Salka:	11 Next to them, in Bashan as far as Salecah, lived the sons of Gad.

15 Ahi, fils de Abdiel, fils de Guni, était le chef de leur famille.	15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was the head of their families.
16 Ils étaient établis en Galaad, en Bashân et ses dépendances, ainsi que dans tous les pâturagesdu Sharon jusqu'à leurs extrêmes limites.	16 They inhabited Gilead, Bashan and its dependencies, as wel as al the pasture lands of Sharon ontheir extremities.
17 C'est à l'époque de Yotam, roi de Juda, et de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, qu'ils furent tousenregistrés.	17 In the time of Jotham king of Judah and in the time of Jeroboam king of Israel, al of them wereincluded in the official genealogy.
18 Les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad, la demi-tribu de Manassé, certains de leurs guerriers,hommes armés du bouclier, de l'épée, tirant de l'arc et exercés au combat, au nombre de 44.760 aptes à fairecampagne,	18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had warriors, men armed with shieldand sword who could handle the bow and were trained for war, to the number of forty-four thousand sevenhundred and sixty fit for service.
19 firent la guerre aux Hagrites, à Yetur, à Naphish et à Nodad.	19 They made war on the Hagrites, on Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.
20 Dieu leur vint en aide contre eux, et les Hagrites, ainsi que tous leurs alliés, tombèrent en leurpouvoir, car ils avaient fait appel à Dieu dans le combat, et ils furent exaucés pour avoir mis en lui leurconfiance.	20 God came to their help, and the Hagrites and al their al ies fel into their hands, for they cal ed on Godas they fought, and because they put their trust in him he heard their prayer.
21 Ils razzièrent les troupeaux des Hagrites, 50.000 chameaux, 250.000 têtes de petit bétail,2.000 ânes, et 100.000 personnes,	21 Of their livestock they carried off fifty thousand camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, twothousand donkeys and a hundred thousand people.
22 car, Dieu ayant mené le combat, la plupart avaient été tués. Et ils s'installèrent à leur placejusqu'à l'exil.	22 Because the war was of God, the slaughter was great. They continued to live in their territory until theexile.
23 Les fils de la demi-tribu de Manassé s'établirent dans le pays entre Bashân et Baal-Hermôn,le Senir et le mont Hermon. Ils étaient nombreux.	23 The sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the territory between Bashan and Baal-Hermon, Senirand Mount Hermon. They were numerous.
24 Voici les chefs de leurs familles: Epher, Yishéï, Eliel, Azriel, Yirmeya, Hodavya, Yahdiel.C'étaient des preux valeureux, des hommes renommés, chefs de leurs familles.	24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel -- stoutfighting men, men of renown, heads of their families.
25 Mais ils furent infidèles envers le Dieu de leurs pères, et se prostituèrent aux dieux despeuples du pays que Dieu avait anéantis devant eux.	25 But since they were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods ofthe peoples of the country whom God had destroyed before them,
26 Le Dieu d'Israël excita l'animosité de Pul, roi d'Assyrie, et celle de Téglat-Phalasar, roid'Assyrie. Il déporta Ruben, Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé, et les emmena à Halah et sur le Habor, à Hara etau fleuve de Gozân. Ils y sont encore aujourd'hui.	26 the God of Israel roused the hostility of Pul, king of Assyria, that is the wrath of Tiglath-Pileser, king ofAssyria who deported them -- the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh -- taking them off toHalah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan. They are stil there today.

29 Fils d'Amram: Aaron, Moïse et Miryam. Fils d'Aaron: Nadab et Abihu, Eléazar et Itamar.	29 Children of Amram: Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar andIthamar.
30 Eléazar engendra Pinhas, Pinhas engendra Abishua,	30 Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua,
31 Abishua engendra Buqqi, Buqqi engendra Uzzi,	31 Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi.
32 Uzzi engendra Zerahya, Zerahya engendra Merayot,	32 Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.
33 Merayot engendra Amarya, Amarya engendra Ahitub,	33 Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
34 Ahitub engendra Sadoq, Sadoq engendra Ahimaaç,	34 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.
35 Ahimaaç engendra Azarya, Azarya engendra Yohanân,	35 Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan.
36 Yohanân engendra Azarya. C'est lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans le Temple qu'avait bâtiSalomon à Jérusalem.	36 Johanan fathered Azariah. He it was who officiated as priest in the Temple which Solomon built inJerusalem.
37 Azarya engendra Amarya, Amarya engendra Ahitub,	37 Azariah fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
38 Ahitub engendra Sadoq, Sadoq engendra Shallum,	38 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Shallum,
39 Shallum engendra Hilqiyya, Hilqiyya engendra Azarya,	39 Shallum fathered Hilkiah, Hilkiah fathered Azariah,
40 Azarya engendra Seraya, Seraya engendra Yehoçadaq	40 Azariah fathered Seraiah, Seraiah fathered Jehozadak,
41 et Yehoçadaq dut partir quand Yahvé, par la main de Nabuchodonosor, exila Juda etJérusalem.	41 and Jehozadak went into exile when, at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, Yahweh exiled Judah andJerusalem.
