Aaron fut mis à part pour consacrer les choses très saintes,lui et ses fils à jamais, faire fumer l'encens devant Yahvé, le servir et bénir en son nom à jamais. | 13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. Aaron was set apart to consecrate the most holy things, that he and his sons for ever should burn incense before the LORD, and minister to him and pronounce blessings in his name for ever. |
| 14 Moïse fut un homme de Dieu dont les fils reçurent le nom de la tribu de Lévi. | 14 But the sons of Moses the man of God were named among the tribe of Levi. |
| 15 Fils de Moïse: Gershom et Eliézer. | 15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer. |
| 16 Fils de Gershom: Shebuel, le premier. | 16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief. |

| 25 Car David avait dit: "Yahvé, Dieu d'Israël, a donné le repos à son peuple et il demeure pourtoujours à Jérusalem. | 25 For David said, "The LORD, the God of Israel, has given peace to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem for ever. |
| 26 Les lévites n'auront plus à transporter la Demeure et les objets destinés à son service." | 26 And so the Levites no longer need to carry the tabernacle or any of the things for its service"-- |

| 29 Ils sont aussi chargés du pain à disposer en rangées, de la fleur de farine destinée àl'oblation, des galettes sans levain, de celles qui étaient préparées à la plaque ou sous forme de mélange, et detoutes les mesures de capacité et de longueur. | 29 to assist also with the showbread, the flour for the cereal offering, the wafers of unleavened bread, the baked offering, the offering mixed with oil, and all measures of quantity or size. |
| 30 Ils ont à s'y tenir chaque matin pour célébrer et pour louer Yahvé, et de même le soir, | 30 And they shall stand every morning, thanking and praising the LORD, and likewise at evening, |
| 31 ainsi que pour toute offrande d'holocaustes à Yahvé lors des sabbats, des néoménies et dessolennités, selon le nombre fixé par la règle. Cette charge leur incombe en permanence devant Yahvé. | 31 and whenever burnt offerings are offered to the LORD on sabbaths, new moons, and feast days, according to the number required of them, continually before the LORD. |
| 32 Ils observent, au service du Temple de Yahvé, le rituel de la Tente du Rendez-vous, le ritueldu sanctuaire et le rituel des fils d'Aaron, leurs frères. | 32 Thus they shall keep charge of the tent of meeting and the sanctuary, and shall attend the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of the LORD." |
