DIODATI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Salmo di Davide dato al capo dei Musici. O DIO della mia lode, non tacere;	1 Unto the end, a psalm for David.
2 Perciocchè la bocca dell’empio e la bocca di frode si sono aperte contro a me; Hanno parlato meco con lingua bugiarda;	2 O God, be not thou silent in thy praise: for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful man is opened against me.
3 E mi hanno assediato con parole d’odio; E mi hanno fatta guerra senza cagione.	3 They have spoken against with deceitful tongues; and they have compassed me about with words of hatred; and have fought against me without cause.
4 In vece dell’amore che ho loro portato, mi sono stati avversari; Ed io ho loro renduta preghiera.	4 Instead of making me a return of love, they detracted me: but I gave myself to prayer.
5 Essi mi hanno renduto male per bene, E odio per lo mio amore	5 And they repaid me evil for good: and hatred for my love.
6 Costituisci il maligno sopra lui; E fa’ che Satana gli stia alla destra.	6 Set thou the sinner over him: and may the devil stand at his right hand.
7 Quando sarà giudicato, esca condannato; E la sua preghiera gli torni in peccato.	7 When he is judged, may he go out condemned; and may his prayer be turned to sin.
8 Sieno i suoi giorni pochi; Un altro prenda il suo ufficio.	8 May his days be few: and his bishopric let another take.
9 Sieno i suoi figliuoli orfani, E la sua moglie vedova.	9 May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10 E vadano i suoi figliuoli del continuo vagando; E mendichino, ed accattino, uscendo fuor de’ lor casolari.	10 Let his children be carried about vagabonds, and beg; and let them be cast out of their dwellings.
11 L’usuraio tenda la rete a tutto ciò ch’egli ha; E rubino gli strani le sue fatiche.	11 May the userer search all his substance: and let strangers plunder his labours.
12 Non siavi alcuno che stenda la sua benignità inverso lui; E non vi sia chi abbia pietà de’ suoi orfani.	12 May there be none to help him: nor none to pity his fatherless offspring.
13 Sieno distrutti i suoi discendenti; Sia cancellato il lor nome nella seconda generazione.	13 May his posterity be cut off; in one generation may his name be blotted out.
14 Sia ricordata l’iniquità de’ suoi padri appo il Signore; E il peccato di sua madre non sia cancellato.	14 May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered in the sight of the Lord: and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Sieno que’ peccati del continuo nel cospetto del Signore; E stermini egli d’in su la terra la memoria di essi.	15 May they be before the lord continually, and let the memory of them perish from the earth:
16 Perciocchè egli non si è ricordato d’usar benignità, Ed ha perseguitato l’uomo povero, ed afflitto, E tribolato di cuore, per ucciderlo.	16 because he remembered not to show mercy,
17 Poichè egli ha amata la maledizione, vengagli; E poichè non si è compiaciuto nella benedizione, allontanisi ella da lui.	17 But persecuted the poor man and the beggar; and the broken in heart, to put him to death.
18 E sia vestito di maledizione, come del suo manto; Ed entri quella come acqua nelle sue interiora, E come olio nelle sue ossa.	18 And he loved cursing, and it shall come unto him: and he would not have blessing, and it shall be far from him. And he put on cursing, like a garment: and it went in like water into his entrails, and like oil in his bones.
19 Siagli quella a guisa di vestimento, del quale egli sia avvolto; Ed a guisa di cintura, della quale sempre sia cinto.	19 May it be unto him like a garment which covereth him; and like a girdle with which he is girded continually.
20 Tal sia, da parte del Signore, la ricompensa de’ miei avversari, E di quelli che parlano male contro all’anima mia	20 This is the work of them who detract me before the Lord; and who speak evils against my soul.
21 Ma tu, o Signore Iddio, opera inverso me, per amor del tuo Nome; Liberami, perciocchè la tua benignità è buona.	21 But thou, O Lord, do with for thy names sake: because thy mercy is sweet. Do thou deliver me.
22 Perciocchè io sono afflitto, e povero; E il mio cuore è piagato dentro di me.	22 for I am poor and needy, and my heart is troubled within me.
23 Io me ne vo, come l’ombra quando dichina; Io sono agitato come una locusta.	23 I am taken away like the shadow when it declineth: and I am shaken off as locusts.
24 Le mie ginocchia vacillano per li miei digiuni; E la mia carne è dimagrata, e non ha più grassezza alcuna.	24 My knees are weakened through fasting: and my flesh is changed for oil.
25 Ed anche son loro in vituperio; Quando mi veggono, scuotono la testa.	25 And I am become a reproach to them: they saw me and they shaked their heads,
26 Aiutami, Signore Iddio mio; Salvami secondo la tua benignità.	26 Help me, O Lord my God; save me according to thy mercy.
27 E sappiano che questo è la tua mano, E che tu, Signore, hai fatto questo.	27 And let them know that this is thy hand: and that thou, O Lord, hast done it.
28 Essi malediranno, e tu benedirai; Si sono innalzati, ma saran confusi, Ed il tuo servitore si rallegrerà.	28 They will curse and thou will bless: let them that rise up against me be confounded: but thy servant shall rejoice.
29 Sieno i miei avversari vestiti di vituperio, Ed avvolti della lor vergogna, come di un mantello.	29 Let them that detract me be clothed with shame: and let them be covered with the their confusion as with a double cloak.
30 Io celebrerò altamente il Signore colla mia bocca; E lo loderò in mezzo de’ grandi.	30 I will give great thanks to the Lord with my mouth: and in the midst of many I will praise him.
31 Perciocchè egli sta alla destra del povero, Per salvarlo da quelli che lo condannano a morte	31 Because he hath stood at the right hand of the poor, to save my soul from persecutors
