| 1 La parole du Seigneur me fut adressée en ces termes : | 1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, |
| 2 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, prophétise, et dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Poussez des hurlements : (Hurlez,) malheur, malheur à ce (au) jour ! (.) | 2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Howl ye, Woe worth the day |
| 3 Car le jour est proche ; il approche, le jour du Seigneur, le jour de nuage ; ce sera le temps des nations. | 3 For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen. |
| 4 L'épée viendra sur l'Egypte, et la frayeur sera dans l'Ethiopie, lorsque les morts tomberont en Egypte, et que sa multitude sera enlevée, et que ses fondements seront détruits. | 4 And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and great pain shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down. |
| 5 L'Ethiopie, la Libye, les Lydiens, tout le reste du peuple, et Chub, et les fils du pays de l'alliance tomberont avec eux par l'épée. | 5 Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword. |
| 6 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Ceux qui soutenaient l'Egypte tomberont aussi, et l'orgueil de son empire sera détruit ; depuis la tour de Syène, ils tomberont en elle par l'épée, dit le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées. | 6 Thus saith the LORD; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD. |
| 7 Ils seront dévastés au milieu des pays désolés, et ses villes seront au rang des cités désertes ; | 7 And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted. |
| 8 et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque j'aurai mis le feu dans l'Egypte, et que tous ses auxiliaires seront écrasés (brisés). | 8 And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed. |
| 9 En ce jour-là, des messagers iront de devant ma face sur des vaisseaux (trirèmes) pour détruire la confiance de l'Ethiopie et la frayeur sera parmi les Ethiopiens au jour de l'Egypte, car ce jour viendra certainement. | 9 In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh. |
| 10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : J'anéantirai la multitude de l'Egypte par la main de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone. | 10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon. |
| 11 Lui et son peuple avec lui, les plus puissants d'entre les nations, viendront pour perdre le pays ; ils tireront leurs glaives contre l'Egypte, et ils rempliront le pays de morts. | 11 He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain. |
| 12 Je dessécherai le lit des fleuves, et je livrerai le pays aux mains des (plus) méchants ; je détruirai le pays et tout ce qu'il contient, par la main des étrangers. Moi, le Seigneur, j'ai parlé. | 12 And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the LORD have spoken it. |
| 13 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Je détruirai les statues (simulacres), et j'anéantirai les idoles de Memphis ; il n'y aura plus désormais de prince du pays d'Egypte, et je répandrai la terreur dans le pays d'Egypte. | 13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt. |
| 14 Je ruinerai le pays de Phaturès, je mettrai le feu dans Taphnis, et j'exercerai mes (des) jugements dans Alexandrie. | 14 And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No. |
| 15 Je répandrai mon indignation sur Péluse, la force de l'Egypte, et j'exterminerai la multitude d'Alexandrie. | 15 And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No. |
| 16 Et je mettrai le feu dans l'Egypte : Péluse sera dans la douleur comme une femme en travail, Alexandrie sera ravagée, et Memphis tous les jours dans l'angoisse (des angoisses continuelles). | 16 And I will set fire in Egypt: Sin shall have great pain, and No shall be rent asunder, and Noph shall have distresses daily. |
| 17 Les jeunes gens (hommes) d'Héliopolis et de Bubaste tomberont par l'épée, et les femmes seront emmenées captives. | 17 The young men of Aven and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity. |
| 18 Le jour s'obscurcira à Taphnis, lorsque je briserai là le sceptre de l'Egypte, et que l'orgueil de sa puissance y prendra fin ; un nuage la couvrira, et ses filles seront emmenées captives. | 18 At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity. |
| 19 J'exercerai mes (des) jugements en Egypte, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur. | 19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD. |
| 20 Et il arriva, dans la onzième année, le septième jour du premier mois, que la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, en ces termes : | 20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, |
| 21 Fils de (d'un) l'homme, j'ai brisé le bras du pharaon (de Pharaon), roi d'Egypte, et voici, on ne l'a pas pansé pour le guérir, il n'a pas été lié avec des bandes (compresses), ni enveloppé dans du linge, pour qu'il pût reprendre sa force et tenir l'épée. | 21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword. |
| 22 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu : Voici, je viens au pharaon (vers Pharaon), roi d'Egypte, et je briserai son bras vigoureux (fort), mais rompu, et je ferai tomber l'épée de sa main. | 22 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand. |
| 23 Je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, et je les disséminerai parmi les peuples. | 23 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. |
| 24 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, et je mettrai mon épée dans sa main, et je briserai les bras du pharaon (de Pharaon), et ses morts (les siens) pousseront des gémissements (, étant tués) devant lui. | 24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man. |
| 25 Je fortifierai les bras du roi de Babylone, et les bras du pharaon (de Pharaon) tomberont ; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque j'aurai mis mon épée dans la main du roi de Babylone, et qu'il l'étendra contre le pays d'Egypte. | 25 But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt. |
| 26 Je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, et je les disséminerai en divers pays, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur. | 26 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD. |
