Job 32

1 Then the three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.	1 Ces trois hommes cessèrent de répondre à Job parce qu'il s'estimait juste.
2 But the anger of Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled. He was angry with Job for considering himself rather than God to be in the right.	2 Mais voici que se mit en colère Elihu, fils de Barakéel le Buzite, du clan de Ram. Sa colère s'enflammacontre Job parce qu'il prétendait avoir raison contre Dieu;
3 He was angry also with the three friends because they had not found a good answer and had not condemned Job.	3 elle s'enflamma également contre ses trois amis, qui n'avaient plus rien trouvé à répliquer et ainsiavaient laissé les torts à Dieu.
4 But since these men were older than he, Elihu bided his time before addressing Job.	4 Tandis qu'ils parlaient avec Job, Elihu avait attendu, car ils étaient ses anciens;
5 When, however, Elihu saw that there was no reply in the mouths of the three men, his wrath was inflamed.	5 mais quand il vit que ces trois hommes n'avaient plus de réponse à la bouche, sa colère éclata.
6 So Elihu, son of Barachel the Buzite, spoke out and said: I am young and you are very old; therefore I held back and was afraid to declare to you my knowledge.	6 Et il prit la parole, lui, Elihu, fils de Barakéel le Buzite, et il dit: Je suis tout jeune encore, et vous êtesdes anciens; aussi je craignais, intimidé, de vous manifester mon savoir.
7 Days should speak, I thought, and many years teach wisdom!	7 Je me disais: "L'âge parlera, les années nombreuses feront connaître la sagesse."
8 But it is a spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives him understanding.	8 A la vérité, c'est un esprit dans l'homme, c'est le souffle de Shaddaï qui rend intelligent.
9 It is not those of many days who are wise, nor the aged who understand the right.	9 Le grand âge ne donne pas la sagesse, ni la vieillesse le sens du juste.
10 Therefore I say, hearken to me; let me too set forth my knowledge!	10 Aussi, je vous invite à m'écouter, car je vais manifester, à mon tour, mon savoir.
11 Behold, I have waited for your discourses, and have given ear to your arguments.	11 Jusqu'ici, j'attendais vos paroles, j'ouvrais l'oreille à vos raisonnements, tandis que chacun cherchaitses mots.
12 Yes, I followed you attentively as you searched out what to say; And behold, there is none who has convicted Job, not one of you who could refute his statements.	12 Sur vous se fixait mon attention. Et je vois qu'aucun n'a confondu Job, nul d'entre vous n'a réfuté sesdires.
13 Yet do not say, "We have met wisdom. God may vanquish him but not man!"	13 Ne dites donc pas: "Nous avons trouvé la sagesse; notre doctrine est divine, non humaine."
14 For had he addressed his words to me, I should not then have answered him as you have done.	14 Ce n'est pas ainsi que je discuterai, je répliquerai à Job en d'autres termes.
15 They are dismayed, they make no more reply; words fail them.	15 Ils sont restés interdits, sans réponse; les mots leur ont manqué.
16 Must I wait? Now that they speak no more, and have ceased to make reply,	16 Et j'attendais! Puisqu'ils ne parlent plus, qu'ils ont cessé de se répondre,
17 I too will speak my part; I also will show my knowledge!	17 je prendrai la parole à mon tour, je montrerai moi aussi mon savoir.
18 For I am full of matters to utter; the spirit within me compels me.	18 Car je suis plein de mots, oppressé par un souffle intérieur.
19 Like a new wineskin with wine under pressure, my bosom is ready to burst.	19 En mon sein, c'est comme un vin nouveau cherchant issue et qui fait éclater des outres neuves.
20 Let me speak and obtain relief; let me open my lips, and make reply.	20 Parler me soulagera, j'ouvrirai les lèvres et je répondrai.
21 I would not be partial to anyone, nor give flattering titles to any.	21 Je ne prendrai le parti de personne, à aucun je ne dirai des mots flatteurs.
22 For I know nought of flattery; if I did, my Maker would soon take me away.	22 Je ne sais point flatter, car mon Créateur me supprimerait sous peu.
