1 Por lo que se refiere al número de los hijos de Israel: Los cabezas de familia, jefes de millares y de cien, con sus secretarios, estaban al servicio del rey en todos los asuntos. Se turnaban por divisiones al finalizar el mes a lo largo del año. Cada sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	1 This is the list of the Israelite family heads, commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and other officers who served the king in all that pertained to the divisions, of twenty-four thousand men each, that came and went month by month throughout the year.
2 Al frente de la primera sección, la del primer mes, estaba Yasobán, hijo de Zabdiel, al frente de su sección de veinticuatro mil hombres.	2 Over the first division for the first month was Ishbaal, son of Zabdiel, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men;
3 Era descendiente de Peres, jefe de los oficiales del ejército del primer mes.	3 a descendant of Perez, he was chief over all the commanders of the army for the first month.
4 Al frente de la sección del segundo mes estaba Doday, el ajojita —Miclot era jefe de ella—; tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	4 Over the division of the second month was Eleazar, son of Dodo, from Ahoh, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
5 Jefe del ejército, al frente de la sección del tercer mes, era Benaías, hijo del sumo sacerdote Yehoyadá, al frente de una sección de veinticuatro mil hombres.	5 The third army commander, chief for the third month, was Benaiah, son of Jehoiada the priest, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
6 Benaías era uno de los treinta valientes y estaba al frente de ellos; su hijo Amizabad pertenecía a esta sección.	6 This Benaiah was a warrior among the Thirty and over the Thirty. His son Ammizabad was over his division.
7 El cuarto, para el cuarto mes, era Asael, hermano de Joab; le sucedió su hijo Zebadías; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	7 Fourth, for the fourth month, was Asahel, brother of Joab, and after him his son Zebadiah, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.

10 El séptimo, para el mes séptimo, era Jeles, el pelteo, de la tribu de Benjamín; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	10 Seventh, for the seventh month, was Hellez, from Beth-phelet, of the sons of Ephraim, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
11 El octavo, para el mes octavo, era Sibcay de Jusá; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	11 Eighth, for the eighth month, was Sibbecai the Hushathite, a descendant of Zerah, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
12 El noveno, para el mes noveno, era Abiezer de Anatot, benjaminita; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	12 Ninth, for the ninth month, was Abiezer from Anathoth, of Benjamin, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
13 El décimo, para el mes décimo, era Mahray de Netofá, zerajita; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	13 Tenth, for the tenth month, was Maharai from Netophah, a descendant of Zerah, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
14 El undécimo, para el mes undécimo, era Benaías de Piratón, efraimita; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	14 Eleventh, for the eleventh month, was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of Ephraim, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
15 El duodécimo, para el mes duodécimo, era Jelday de Netofá, descendiente de Otniel; su sección tenía veinticuatro mil hombres.	15 Twelfth, for the twelfth month, was Heldai the Netophathite, of the family of Othniel, and in his division were twenty-four thousand men.
16 Al frente de las tribus de Israel estaban, de Rubén, Eliézer, hijo de Zicrí; de Simeón, Sefatías, hijo de Maacá;	16 Over the tribes of Israel, for the Reubenites the leader was Eliezer, son of Zichri; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah, son of Maacah;
17 de Leví, Jasabías, hijo de Quemuel; de Aarón, Sadoc;	17 for Levi, Hashabiah, son of Kemuel; for Aaron, Zadok;
18 de Judá, Elihú, uno de los hermanos de David; de Isacar, Omrí, hijo de Miguel;	18 for Judah, Eliab, one of David's brothers; for Issachar, Omri, son of Michael;
19 de Zabulón, Yismaías, hijo de Abdías; de Neftalí, Yerimot, hijo de Azriel;	19 for Zebulun, Ishmaiah, son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jeremoth, son of Azriel;
20 de Efraín, Oseas, hijo de Azazías; de media tribu de Manasés, Joel, hijo de Pedaías;	20 for the sons of Ephraim, Hoshea, son of Azaziah; for the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel, son of Pedaiah;
21 de la otra media tribu de Manasés en Galaad, Yidó, hijo de Zacarías; de Benjamín, Yaasiel, hijo de Abner;	21 for the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo, son of Zechariah; for Benjamin, Jaasiel, son of Abner;
22 de Dan, Azarael, hijo de Yeroján. Estos eran los jefes de las tribus de Israel.	22 for Dan, Azarel, son of Jeroham. These were the commanders of the tribes of Israel.
23 David no hizo el censo de menores de veinte años, porque el Señor había prometido multiplicar a Israel como las estrellas del cielo.	23 David did not count those who were twenty years of age or younger, for the LORD had promised to multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens.
24 Joab, hijo de Seruyá, comenzó a hacer el censo —lo que motivó la cólera contra Israel—, pero no lo acabó; por ello su número no fue puesto en el registro de los Anales del rey David.	24 Joab, son of Zeruiah, began to take the census, but he did not complete it, for because of it wrath fell upon Israel. Therefore the number did not enter into the book of chronicles of King David.
25 Asmávet, hijo de Adiel, estaba al frente de la hacienda real; Jonatán, hijo de Uzías, al frente de los silos del campo, ciudades, aldeas y de las fronteras.	25 Over the treasures of the king was Azmaveth, the son of Adiel. Over the stores in the country, the cities, the villages, and the towers was Jonathan, son of Uzziah.
26 Al frente de los labradores que cultivaban la tierra estaba Ezrí, hijo de Quelub;	26 Over the farm workers who tilled the soil was Ezri, son of Chelub.
27 al frente de los viñedos, Semeí, de Ramá; de los productos de las viñas y bodegas se encargaba Zabdí, de Safán;	27 Over the vineyards was Shimei from Ramah, and over their produce for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28 de los olivares y de los sicomoros de la Sefelá, se ocupaba Baal Janán, de Guéder; de los depósitos de aceite, Joás;	28 Over the olive trees and sycamores of the foothills was Baalhanan the Gederite, and over the stores of oil was Joash.
29 de las vacadas que pastaban en Sarón, Sitray, saronita; de las vacadas que pastaban en los valles, Safat, hijo de Adlay;	29 Over the cattle that grazed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite, and over the cattle in the valleys was Shaphat, the son of Adlai;
30 de los camellos, Obil, de Ismael; de las asnas, Yejdías, de Menorot;	30 over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite; over the she-asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite;
31 del ganado menor, Yaziz, de Agar. Todos estos eran intendentes de los bienes pertenecientes al rey David.	31 and over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite. All these were the overseers of King David's possessions.
32 Jonatán, tío de David, hombre prudente e instruido, era consejero; él y Yejiel, hijo de Yacmoní, eran preceptores de los hijos del rey.	32 Jonathan, David's uncle and a man of intelligence, was counselor and scribe; he and Jehiel, the son of Hachmoni, were tutors of the king's sons.
33 También Ajitófel era consejero del rey. Jusay, el arquita, era amigo del rey.	33 Ahithophel was also the king's counselor, and Hushai the Archite was the king's confidant.
34 A Ajitófel le sucedieron Joadá, hijo de Benaías, y Abiatar. Joab era general del ejército real.	34 After Ahithophel came Jehoiada, the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. The commander of the king's army was Joab.
