1 Quiero que sepáis qué dura lucha estoy sosteniendo por vosotros y por los de Laodicea, y por todos los que no me han visto personalmente,	1 For I want you to know the kind of solicitude that I have for you, and for those who are at Laodicea, as well as for those who have not seen my face in the flesh.
2 para que sus corazones reciban ánimo y, unidos íntimamente en el amor, alcancen en toda su riqueza la plena inteligencia y perfecto conocimiento del Misterio de Dios,	2 May their hearts be consoled and instructed in charity, with all the riches of a plenitude of understanding, with knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus.
3 en el cual están ocultos todos los tesoros de la sabiduría y de la ciencia.	3 For in him are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Os digo esto para que nadie os seduzca con discursos capciosos.	4 Now I say this, so that no one may deceive you with grandiose words.
5 Pues, si bien estoy corporalmente ausente, en espíritu me hallo con vosotros, alegrándome de ver vuestra armonía y la firmeza de vuestra fe en Cristo.	5 For though I may be absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit. And I rejoice as I gaze upon your order and its foundation, which is in Christ, your faith.
6 Vivid, pues, según Cristo Jesús, el Señor, tal como le habéis recibido;	6 Therefore, just as you have received the Lord Jesus Christ, walk in him.
7 enraizados y edificados en él; apoyados en la fe, tal como se os enseñó, rebosando en acción de gracias.	7 Be rooted and continually built up in Christ. And be confirmed in the faith, just as you have also learned it, increasing in him with acts of thanksgiving.
8 Mirad que nadie os esclavice mediante la vana falacia de una filosofía, fundada en tradiciones humanas, según los elementos del mundo y no según Cristo.	8 See to it that no one deceives you through philosophy and empty falsehoods, as found in the traditions of men, in accord with the influences of the world, and not in accord with Christ.
9 Porque en él reside toda la Plenitud de la Divinidad corporalmente,	9 For in him, all the fullness of the Divine Nature dwells bodily.
10 y vosotros alcanzáis la plenitud en él, que es la Cabeza de todo Principado y de toda Potestad;	10 And in him, you have been filled; for he is the head of all principality and power.
11 en él también fuisteis circuncidados con la circuncisión no quirúrgica, sino mediante el despojo de vuestro cuerpo mortal, por la circuncisión en Cristo.	11 In him also, you have been circumcised with a circumcision not made by hand, not by the despoiling of the body of flesh, but by the circumcision of Christ.
12 Sepultados con él en el bautismo, con él también habéis resucitado por la fe en la acción de Dios, que resucitó de entre los muertos.	12 You have been buried with him in baptism. In him also, you have risen again through faith, by the work of God, who raised him up from the dead.
13 Y a vosotros, que estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y en vuestra carne incircuncisa, os vivificó juntamente con él y nos perdonó todos nuestros delitos.	13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he enlivened you, together with him, forgiving you of all transgressions,
14 Canceló la nota de cargo que había contra nosotros, la de las prescripciones con sus cláusulas desfavorables, y la suprimió clavándola en la cruz.	14 and wiping away the handwriting of the decree which was against us, which was contrary to us. And he has taken this away from your midst, affixing it to the Cross.
15 Y, una vez despojados los Principados y las Postestades, los exhibió públicamente, incorporándolos a su cortejo triunfal.	15 And so, despoiling principalities and powers, he has led them away confidently and openly, triumphing over them in himself.
16 Por tanto, que nadie os critique por cuestiones de comida o bebida, o a propósito de fiestas, de novilunios o sábados.	16 Therefore, let no one judge you as concerns food or drink, or a particular feast day, or feast days of new moons, or of Sabbaths.
17 Todo esto es sombra de lo venidero; pero la realidad es el cuerpo de Cristo.	17 For these are a shadow of the future, but the body is of Christ.
18 Que nadie os prive del premio a causa del gusto por ruines prácticas, del culto de los ángeles, obesionado por lo que vio, vanamente hinchado por su mente carnal,	18 Let no one seduce you, preferring base things and a religion of Angels, walking according to what he has not seen, being vainly inflated by the sensations of his flesh,
19 en lugar de mantenerse unido a la Cabeza, de la cual todo el Cuerpo, por medio de junturas y ligamentos, recibe nutrición y cohesión, para realizar su crecimiento en Dios.	19 and not holding up the head, with which the whole body, by its underlying joints and ligaments, is joined together and grows with an increase that is of God.
20 Una vez que habéis muerto con Cristo a los elementos del mundo ¿por qué sujertaros, como si aún vivierais en el mundo, a preceptos como	20 So then, if you have died with Christ to the influences of this world, why do you still make decisions as if you were living in the world?
21 «no tomes», «no gustes», «no toques»,	21 Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle these things,
22 cosas todas destinadas a perecer con el uso y debidas a preceptos y doctrinas puramente humanos?	22 which all lead to destruction by their very use, in accord with the precepts and doctrines of men.
23 Tales cosas tienen una apariencia de sabiduría por su piedad afectada, sus mortificaciones y su rigor con el cuerpo; pero sin valor alguno contra la insolencia de la carne.	23 Such ideas have at least an intention to attain to wisdom, but through superstition and debasement, not sparing the body, and they are without any honor in satiating the flesh.
