Miqueas 3

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Yo dije: Escuchad, pues, jefes de Jacob, y dirigentes de la casa de Israel: ¿No es cosa vuestra conocer el derecho,	1 Then I said, 'Kindly listen, you leaders of the House of Jacob, you princes of the House of Israel. Surelyyou are the ones who ought to know what is right,
2 vosotros que odiáis el bien y amáis el mal, (que les arrancáis la piel de encima, y la carne de sobre sus huesos?)	2 and yet you hate what is good and love what is evil, skinning people alive, pul ing the flesh off theirbones,
3 Los que han comido la carne de mi pueblo y han desollado su piel y quebrado sus huesos, los que le han despedazado como carne en la caldera, como vianda dentro de una olla,	3 eating my people's flesh, stripping off their skin, breaking up their bones, chopping them up smal likeflesh for the pot, like meat in the stew-pan?'
4 clamarán entonces a Yahveh, pero él no les responderá: esconderá de ellos su rostro en aquel tiempo, por los crímenes que cometieron.	4 Then they wil cal to Yahweh, but he wil not answer them. When the time comes he will hide his facefrom them because of the crimes they have committed.
5 Así dice Yahveh contra los profetas que extravían a mi pueblo, los que, mientras mascan con sus dientes, gritan: «¡Paz!», mas a quien no pone nada en su boca le declaran guerra santa.	5 Yahweh says this against the prophets who lead my people astray: So long as they have something toeat they cry 'Peace'. But on anyone who puts nothing into their mouths they declare war.
6 Por eso tendréis noche sin visión, oscuridad sin adivinación; ¡se pone el sol sobre los profetas, sobre ellos el día se oscurece!	6 And so, for you, night wil be without vision and for you the darkness without divination. The sun wil setfor the prophets, the daylight will go black above them.
7 Tendrán vergüenza los videntes, y confusión los adivinos; y se taparán todos el bigote, por no haber ya respuesta de Dios.	7 Then the seers wil be covered with shame, the diviners with confusion; they wil al put their hands overtheir mouths because there is no answer from God.
8 Yo, en cambio, estoy lleno de fuerza, por el espíritu de Yahveh, y de juicio y bravura, para denunciar a Jacob su delito, y a Israel su pecado.	8 Not so with me, I am ful of strength (ful of Yahweh's spirit), of the sense of right, of energy to accuseJacob of his crime and Israel of his sin.
9 Escuchad esto, jefes de la casa de Jacob, y dirigentes de la casa de Israel, que abomináis el juicio y torcéis toda rectitud,	9 Kindly listen to this, you leaders of the House of Jacob, you princes of the House of Israel, who detestjustice, wresting it from its honest course,
10 que edificáis a Sión con sangre, y a Jerusalén con maldad.	10 who build Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity!
11 Sus jefes juzgan por soborno, sus sacerdotes enseñan por salario, sus profetas vaticinan por dinero, y se apoyan en Yahveh diciendo: «¿No está Yahveh en medio de nosotros? ¡No vendrá sobre nosotros ningún mal!»	11 Her leaders give verdicts for presents, her priests take a fee for their rulings, her prophets divine formoney and yet they rely on Yahweh! 'Isn't Yahweh among us?' they say, 'No disaster is going to overtake us.'
12 Por eso, por culpa vuestra, Sión será un campo que se ara, Jerusalén se hará un montón de ruinas, y el monte de la Casa un otero salvaje.	12 That is why, thanks to you, Zion will become ploughland, Jerusalem a heap of rubble and the TempleMount a wooded height.
