BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 En sus días, Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, hizo una expedición y Yoyaquim le quedó sometido durante tres años. Luego volvió a rebelarse contra él.	1 In his times, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for threeyears, but then rebelled against him a second time.
2 Yahveh envió contra él bandas de caldeos, bandas de arameos, bandas de moabitas y bandas de ammonitas; los envió contra Judá para destruirlo según la palabra que Yahveh había dicho por boca de sus siervos los profetas.	2 So he sent armed bands of Chaldaeans, Aramaeans, Moabites and Ammonites against him; he sentthese against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spoken through his servantsthe prophets.
3 Tan sólo por orden de Yahveh ocurrió esto en Judá, para apartarlo de su presencia por los pecados de Manasés, por todo lo que había hecho,	3 It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Judah; he had resolved to thrust themaway from him because of Manasseh's sins and al that he had done,
4 y también por la sangre inocente que había derramado llenando a Jerusalén de sangre inocente. Yahveh no quiso perdonar.	4 and also because of the innocent blood which he had shed, flooding Jerusalem with innocent blood.Yahweh would not forgive.
5 El resto de los hechos de Yoyaquim, todo cuanto hizo ¿no está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Judá?	5 The rest of the history of Jehoiakim, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Judah?
6 Se acostó Yoyaquim con sus padres y reinó en su lugar su hijo Joaquín.	6 Then Jehoiakim fell asleep with his ancestors; his son Jehoiachin succeeded him.
7 No volvió a salir de su tierra el rey de Egipto, porque el rey de Babilonia había conquistado, desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates, todo cuanto era del rey de Egipto.	7 The king of Egypt did not leave his own country again, because the king of Babylon had conqueredeverywhere belonging to the king of Egypt, from the Torrent of Egypt to the River Euphrates.
8 Dieciocho años tenía Joaquín cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Nejustá, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén.	8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for three months inJerusalem. His mother's name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

11 Vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, a la ciudad, mientras sus siervos la estaban asediando.	11 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on the city and his generals laid siege to it.
12 Joaquín, rey de Judá, se rindió al rey de Babilonia, él, su madre, sus servidores, sus jefes y eunucos; los apresó el rey de Babilonia en el año octavo de su reinado.	12 Jehoiachin king of Judah-he, his mother, his retinue, his nobles and his officials -- then surrendered tothe king of Babylon, and the king of Babylon took them prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.

14 Deportó a todo Jerusalén, todos los jefes y notables, 10.000 deportados; a todos los herreros y cerrajeros; no dejó más que a la gente pobre del país.	14 He carried al Jerusalem off into exile, all the nobles and al the notables, ten thousand of these wereexiled, with al the blacksmiths and metalworkers; only the poorest people in the country were left behind.
15 Deportó a Babilonia a Joaquín, a la madre del rey y a las mujeres del rey, a sus eunucos y a los notables del país; los hizo partir al destierro, de Jerusalén a Babilonia.	15 He deported Jehoiachin to Babylon, as also the king's mother, his officials and the nobility of thecountry; he made them al leave Jerusalem for exile in Babylon.

Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.
