1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè nel deserto del Sinai, nella tenda del convegno, il primo del secondo mese, nel secondo anno dalla loro uscita dalla terra d'Egitto, e disse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 "Fate il censimento di tutta la comunità dei figli d'Israele, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi di tutti i maschi, secondo le loro teste,	2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 da vent'anni in su, chiunque può essere schierato nell'esercito in Israele: li passerete in rassegna per schiere, tu e Aronne.	3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 Sarà con voi un uomo per tribù, un uomo che sia a capo della sua casa paterna.	4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Questi sono i nomi degli uomini che vi assisteranno: per Ruben: Elisur, figlio di Sedeur;	5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 per Simeone: Selumiel, figlio di Surisaddai;	6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 per Giuda: Nacason, figlio di Amminadab;	7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 per Issacar: Natanael, figlio di Suar;	8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 per Zabulon: Eliab, figlio di Chelon;	9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 per i figli di Giuseppe: per Efraim, Elisama, figlio di Ammiud; per Manasse, Gamliel, figlio di Pedasur;	10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 per Beniamino: Abidan, figlio di Ghideoni;	11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 per Dan: Achiezer, figlio di Ammisaddai;	12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 per Aser: Paghiel, figlio di Ocran;	13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 per Gad: Eliasaf, figlio di Deuel;	14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;
15 per Neftali: Achira, figlio di Enan.	15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Questi sono i chiamati della comunità, capi delle tribù dei loro padri, alla testa dei gruppi d'Israele".	16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Mosè ed Aronne presero quegli uomini che erano stati designati per nome,	17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 radunarono tutta la comunità il primo del secondo mese, e si registrarono per parentela in base alle loro famiglie, le loro case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su, secondo le loro teste.	18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 Come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè, li passarono in rassegna nel deserto del Sinai.	19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 I figli di Ruben, primogenito d'Israele, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando tutti i maschi uno per uno, da vent'anni in su, di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 i recensiti della tribù di Ruben furono 46.500.	21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 I figli di Simeone, i loro discendenti, recensiti per famiglie e case paterne, contando tutti i maschi uno per uno, da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
23 i recensiti della tribù di Simeone furono 59.300.	23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 I figli di Gad, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su, di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
25 i recensiti della tribù di Gad furono 45.650.	25 there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 I figli di Giuda, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	26 Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
27 i recensiti della tribù di Giuda furono 74.600.	27 there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 I figli di Issacar, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
29 i recensiti della tribù di Issacar furono 54.400.	29 there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30 I figli di Zabulon, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	30 Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
31 i recensiti della tribù di Zabulon furono 57.400.	31 there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32 I figli di Giuseppe: i figli di Efraim, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	32 From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
33 i recensiti della tribù di Efraim furono 40.500;	33 there were forty thousand five hundred.
34 i figli di Manasse, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	34 Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
35 i recensiti della tribù di Manasse furono 32.200.	35 there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 I figli di Beniamino, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
37 i recensiti della tribù di Beniamino furono 35.400.	37 there were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38 I figli di Dan, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
39 i recensiti della tribù di Dan furono 62.700.	39 there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 I figli di Aser, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	40 Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
41 i recensiti della tribù di Aser furono 41.500.	41 there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.
42 I figli di Neftali, i loro discendenti, per famiglie e case paterne, contando i nomi da vent'anni in su di chi poteva essere schierato nell'esercito:	42 Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
43 i recensiti della tribù di Neftali furono 53.400.	43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Questi furono i recensiti da Mosè, con Aronne e i dodici capi d'Israele, uno per ogni casa paterna.	44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Tutti i figli d'Israele, recensiti per casa paterna, da vent'anni in su, che potevano essere schierati nell'esercito:	45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 in totale furono 603.550.	46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Ma tra loro non furono recensiti i leviti, secondo la tribù dei loro padri.	47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 Il Signore aveva detto a Mosè:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 "Solo la tribù di Levi non passerai in rassegna e non li recensirai tra i figli d'Israele.	49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 Ma disponi che i leviti si prendano cura della dimora della testimonianza, di tutti i suoi arredi e di tutto quello che ha: trasporteranno la dimora e tutti i suoi arredi, faranno il servizio e si accamperanno intorno alla dimora.	50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Quando la dimora dovrà spostarsi, i leviti la smonteranno, e quando la dimora si accamperà i leviti la erigeranno. Ogni estraneo che si avvicinerà sarà messo a morte.	51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 I figli d'Israele si accamperanno ognuno nel proprio accampamento, ognuno presso la propria insegna, secondo le loro schiere.	52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 I leviti si accamperanno intorno alla dimora della testimonianza, in modo che non ci sia indignazione contro la comunità dei figli d'Israele. I leviti custodiranno il servizio della dimora della testimonianza".	53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 I figli d'Israele si conformarono a tutto quello che il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè, e così fecero.	54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
