1 John 1

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life--	1 Colui che era fin dal principio, colui che noi abbiamo sentito, colui che abbiamo veduto con i nostri occhi, colui che abbiamo contemplato e che le nostre mani hanno toccato, cioè il Verbo della vita --
2 the life was made manifest, and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us--	2 poiché la vita si è manifestata e noi l'abbiamo veduta e ne diamo testimonianza e vi annunziamo questa vita eterna che era presso il Padre e che si è manifestata a noi --,
3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.	3 colui che abbiamo veduto e sentito lo annunziamo a voi, affinché anche voi abbiate comunione con noi. La nostra comunione è con il Padre e con il suo Figlio Gesù Cristo.
4 And we are writing this that our joy may be complete.	4 E noi scriviamo queste cose affinché la nostra gioia sia piena.
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.	5 Questo è il messaggio che abbiamo sentito da lui e che vi annunziamo: Dio è luce e in lui non vi sono affatto tenebre.
6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth;	6 Se diciamo di essere in comunione con lui e camminiamo nelle tenebre, noi mentiamo e non operiamo la verità.
7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.	7 Se invece camminiamo nella luce, come lui è nella luce, noi siamo in comunione gli uni con gli altri e il sangue di Gesù, suo Figlio, ci purifica da ogni peccato.
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.	8 Se diciamo di non aver peccato, inganniamo noi stessi e la verità non è in noi.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.	9 Se confessiamo i nostri peccati, egli è fedele e giusto e così rimette i nostri peccati e ci purifica da ogni ingiustizia.
10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.	10 Se noi diciamo di non aver commesso peccato, lo facciamo un mentitore e la sua parola non è in noi.
