1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:	1 Conjuro-te diante de Deus e de Jesus Cristo, que há-de julgar os vivos e os mortos, pela sua vinda e pelo seu reino:
2 preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.	2 prega a palavra, insiste a tempo e fora de tempo, repreende, corrige, admoesta com toda a paciência e doutrina,
3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,	3 porque virá tempo em que (muitos) não suportarão a sã doutrina, mas acumularão mestres em volta de si, ao sabor das suas paixões, (levados) pelo prurido de ouvir.
4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.	4 Afastarão os ouvidos da verdade e os aplicarão às fábulas.
5 As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.	5 Tu, porém, vigia sobre todas as coisas, suporta os trabalhos, faze a obra de evangelista, cumpre o teu ministério.
6 For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come.	6 Quanto a mim, estou já oferecido em libação (derramando o meu sangue), e o tempo da minha partida avizinha-se.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.	7 Combati, até ao fim, o bom combate, acabei a minha carreira, guardei a fé.
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.	8 De resto, está-me preparada a coroa da justiça que o Senhor, justo Juiz, me dará naquele dia; porém não só a mim, mas também àqueles que esperam com amor a sua vinda.
9 Do your best to come to me soon.	9 Apressa-te a vir ter comigo. Demas abandonou-me, por amor deste século, e foi para Tessalonica;
10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.	10 Crescente (foi) para a Galácia, Tito para a Dalmácia.
11 Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you; for he is very useful in serving me.	11 Só Lucas está comigo. Toma contigo Marcos e traze-o, porque me é útil para o ministério (evangélico).
12 Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.	12 Tíquico enviei-o a Éfeso.
13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments.	13 Quando vieres, traze contigo a capa que deixei em Trôade, em casa de Carpo, e os livros, principalmente os pergaminhos.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will requite him for his deeds.	14 Alexandre, o latoeiro, fez-me muitos males; o Senhor lhe pagará segundo as suas obras.
15 Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message.	15 Tu também guarda-te dele, porque opõe uma forte resistência às nossas palavras.
16 At my first defense no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!	16 Ninguém me assistiu na minha primeira defesa, mas todos me desampararam; que isto lhes não seja imputado.
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth.	17 O Senhor, porém, assistiu-me e confortou-me, para que fosse cumprida por mim a pregação, e a ouvissem todos os gentios, e, assim, fui livre da boca do leão.
18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 O Senhor me livrará de toda a obra má e me salvará (fazendo-me entrar) no seu reino celestial: a ele seja dada glória pelos séculos dos séculos! Amen.
19 Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.	19 Saúda Prisca, Áquila e a família de Onesíforo.
20 Erastus remained at Corinth; Trophimus I left ill at Miletus.	20 Erasto ficou em Corinto. A Trófimo deixei-o doente, em Mileto.
