2 Timothy 4

1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:	1 - Ti scongiuro davanti a Dio e a Cristo Gesù, che deve giudicare i vivi e i morti, nel nome della sua apparizione e del suo regno,
2 preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.	2 fatti araldo della parola divina, insisti a tempo opportuno e anche non opportuno, confuta, sgrida, esorta, con grande pazienza e voglia d'insegnare.
3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,	3 Poichè vi sarà un tempo che non sopporteranno la sana dottrina, ma secondo le proprie passioni, per prurito di orecchio, faran sì che si affollino i maestri;
4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.	4 ma dalla verità ritrarranno l'orecchio per voltarsi alle favole.
5 As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.	5 Tu sii vigile in ogni cosa, pronto a soffrire, e a far opera di evangelista, adempi i doveri del tuo ministero.
6 For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come.	6 Quanto a me, già sono offerto in libagione, e il tempo del mio discioglimento è imminente.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.	7 Ho combattuto il buon combattimento, ho compiuto la mia carriera, ho conservato la fede;
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.	8 quel che resta è pronta per me la corona della giustizia, che darà a me in quel giorno il Signore, il giusto giudice, e non solo a me ma a tutti quelli che amano la sua venuta. 16 At my first defense no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!	16 Nella mia prima difesa nessuno mi è stato appresso, ma tutti mi abbandonarono; che non sia loro imputato!
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth.	17 Ma il Signore m'assistè e mi diè forza affinchè per mio mezzo fosse compiuta la predicazione e l'odano tutte le Genti, e fui liberato dalla bocca del leone.
18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 E mi libererà il Signore da ogni opera malvagia, e mi salverà nel suo regno celeste; a lui gloria nei secoli dei secoli. Amen.
