2 Timothy 4

1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:	1 Je t'adjure devant Dieu et devant le Christ Jésus, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, au nomde son Apparition et de son Règne:
2 preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.	2 proclame la parole, insiste à temps et à contretemps, réfute, menace, exhorte, avec unepatience inlassable et le souci d'instruire.
3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings,	3 Car un temps viendra où les hommes ne supporteront plus la saine doctrine, mais au contraire,au gré de leurs passions et l'oreille les démangeant, ils se donneront des maîtres en quantité
4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.	4 et détourneront l'oreille de la vérité pour se tourner vers les fables.
5 As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.	5 Pour toi, sois prudent en tout, supporte l'épreuve, fais oeuvre de prédicateur de l'Evangile,acquitte-toi à la perfection de ton ministère.
6 For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come.	6 Quant à moi, je suis déjà répandu en libation et le moment de mon départ est venu.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.	7 J'ai combattu jusqu'au bout le bon combat, j'ai achevé ma course, j'ai gardé la foi.
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.	8 Et maintenant, voici qu'est préparée pour moi la couronne de justice, qu'en retour le Seigneurme donnera en ce Jour-là, lui, le juste Juge, et non seulement à moi mais à tous ceux qui auront attendu avecamour son Apparition.
9 Do your best to come to me soon.	9 Hâte-toi de venir me rejoindre au plus vite,
10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.	10 car Démas m'a abandonné par amour du monde présent. Il est parti pour Thessalonique,Crescens pour la Galatie, Tite pour la Dalmatie.
11 Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you; for he is very useful in serving me.	11 Seul Luc est avec moi. Prends Marc et amène-le avec toi, car il m'est précieux pour leministère.
12 Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.	12 J'ai envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments.	13 En venant, apporte le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas chez Carpos, ainsi que les livres, surtoutles parchemins.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will requite him for his deeds.	14 Alexandre le fondeur m'a fait beaucoup de mal. Le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses oeuvres.
15 Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message.	15 Toi aussi, méfie-toi de lui, car il a été un adversaire acharné de notre prédication.
16 At my first defense no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!	16 La première fois que j'ai eu à présenter ma défense, personne ne m'a soutenu. Tous m'ontabandonné! Qu'il ne leur en soit pas tenu rigueur!
17 But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth.	17 Le Seigneur, lui, m'a assisté et m'a rempli de force afin que, par moi, le message fûtproclamé et qu'il parvînt aux oreilles de tous les païens. Et j'ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.	18 Le Seigneur me délivrera de toute entreprise perverse et me sauvera en me prenant dans sonRoyaume céleste. A lui la gloire dans tous les siècles! Amen!
19 Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.	19 Salue Prisca et Aquilas, ainsi que la famille d'Onésiphore.
20 Erastus remained at Corinth; Trophimus I left ill at Miletus.	20 Eraste est resté à Corinthe. J'ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.
21 Do your best to come before winter. Eubulus sends greetings to you, as do Pudens and Linus and Claudia and all the brethren.	21 Hâte-toi de venir avant l'hiver. Tu as le salut d'Eubule, de Pudens, de Lin, de Claudia et detous les frères.
22 The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you.	22 Le Seigneur soit avec ton esprit! La grâce soit avec vous!
