1 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,	1 Den ersten Bericht, lieber Theophilus, verfaßte ich über all das, was Jesus von Anfang an tat und lehrte
2 until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.	2 bis zu dem Tag, an dem er den von ihm erwählten Aposteln Auftrag gab im Heiligen Geist und hinaufgenommen wurde.
3 To them he presented himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking of the kingdom of God.	3 Ihnen erwies er sich auch als lebend nach seinen Leiden durch viele Bezeugungen, da er vierzig Tage hindurch ihnen erschien und von den Dingen des Gottesreiches redete.
4 And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me,	4 Im Beisammensein mit ihnen trug er ihnen auf: "Geht nicht weg von Jerusalem, sondern wartet auf die Verheißung des Vaters, von der ihr von mir gehört habt.
5 for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."	5 Denn Johannes taufte mit Wasser, ihr aber werdet getauft werden mit Heiligem Geist, nach nicht vielen Tagen."
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"	6 Die nun zusammengekommen waren, fragten ihn: "Herr, richtest du in dieser Zeit das Königtum wieder auf für Israel?"
7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.	7 Er antwortete: "Nicht eure Sache ist es, Zeiten oder Stunden zu wissen, die der Vater festgelegt hat in der ihm eigenen Macht;
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth."	8 doch werdet ihr Kraft empfangen, wenn der Heilige Geist auf euch herabkommt, und werdet meine Zeugen sein in Jerusalem und in ganz Judäa und Samaria und bis an die Grenzen der Erde."
9 And when he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.	9 Nach diesen Worten wurde er vor ihren Augen emporgehoben, und eine Wolke entzog ihn ihren Blicken.
10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,	10 Und da sie zum Himmel hinaufsahen, wie er dahinging, siehe, da standen vor ihnen zwei Männer in weißem Gewande
11 and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."	11 und sprachen: "Ihr Männer aus Galiläa, was steht ihr da und schaut zum Himmel? Dieser Jesus, der von euch weg in den Himmel aufgenommen wurde, wird ebenso wiederkommen, wie ihr ihn habt hingehen sehen zum Himmel."
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away;	12 Hierauf kehrten sie nach Jerusalem zurück von dem Berg, der Ölberg heißt und nahe bei Jerusalem liegt, einen Sabbatweg davon entfernt.
13 and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.	13 Dort angekommen, stiegen sie in das Obergemach hinauf, wo sie sich aufhielten, nämlich Petrus und Johannes, Jakobus und Andreas, Philippus und Thomas, Bartholomäus und Matthäus, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, und Simon der Eiferer und Judas, der Bruder des Jakobus.
14 All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.	14 Diese alle verharrten einmütig im Gebet, zusammen mit den Frauen und Maria, der Mutter Jesu, und seinen Brüdern.
15 In those days Peter stood up among the brethren (the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty), and said,	15 In diesen Tagen erhob sich Petrus im Kreise der Brüder - es war eine Zahl von etwa hundertzwanzig Personen beisammen - und sprach:
16 "Brethren, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus.	16 "Brüder! Es mußte sich erfüllen das Schriftwort, das der Heilige Geist im voraus gesagt hat durch den Mund Davids über Judas, der denen zum Führer wurde, die Jesus gefangennahmen.
17 For he was numbered among us, and was allotted his share in this ministry.	17 Er war uns beigezählt und hatte Anteil erhalten an diesem unserem Dienst.
18 (Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.	18 Dieser erwarb sich einen Acker vom Lohn des Verbrechens, stürzte kopfüber, barst mitten entzwei, und alle seine Eingeweide traten heraus.
19 And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)	19 Und es wurde allen Bewohnern von Jerusalem bekannt, so daß jenes Grundstück in ihrer Sprache Hakeldama genannt wurde, das ist Blutacker.
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his habitation become desolate, and let there be no one to live in it'; and 'His office let another take.'	20 Denn im Buch der Psalmen steht geschrieben: "Seine Wohnstatt soll öde werden, und es sei keiner, der darin wohnt" (Ps 69,26), und: "Sein Amt erhalte ein anderer!" (Ps 109,8).
21 So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,	21 So muß denn aus den Männern, die mit uns zusammen waren in der ganzen Zeit, da der Herr Jesus ein- und ausging unter uns,
22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us--one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection."	22 von der Taufe des Johannes an bis zu dem Tag, an dem er von uns weg aufgenommen wurde, einer mit uns Zeuge seiner Auferstehung werden, und zwar einer von diesen hier."
23 And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.	23 Sie stellten zwei vor: Joseph, genannt Barsabbas, mit dem Beinamen Justus, und Matthias.
24 And they prayed and said, "Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which one of these two thou hast chosen	24 Und sie beteten und sprachen: "Herr, du kennst die Herzen aller; zeige an, welchen von diesen beiden du erwählt hast als den,
25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside, to go to his own place."	25 der die Stelle dieses Dienstes und Apostelamtes erhalten soll, von dem Judas ausgeschieden ist, um hinzugehen an seinen Ort."
26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was enrolled with the eleven apostles.	26 Und sie legten Lose für sie ein, und das Los fiel auf Matthias, und er wurde hinzugerechnet zu den elf Aposteln.
