1 The LORD said to Moses,	1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè:
2 "Make two silver trumpets; of hammered work you shall make them; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation, and for breaking camp.	2 "Fatti due trombe d'argento; le farai lavorate a martello e ti serviranno per convocare la comunità e per levare l'accampamento.
3 And when both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting.	3 Al suono di esse tutta la comunità si radunerà presso di te all'ingresso della tenda del convegno.
4 But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you.	4 Al suono di una tromba sola, i principi, i capi delle migliaia d'Israele, converranno presso di te.
5 When you blow an alarm, the camps that are on the east side shall set out.	5 Quando suonerete uno squillo di acclamazione, gli accampamenti che sono a levante si metteranno in cammino.
6 And when you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out.	6 Quando suonerete una seconda volta lo squillo di acclamazione, gli accampamenti che si trovano a mezzogiorno si metteranno in cammino; si suoneranno squilli di acclamazione quando dovranno mettersi in cammino.
7 But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.	7 Quando deve essere convocata la comunità, suonerete, ma non uno squillo di acclamazione.
8 And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. The trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations.	8 I sacerdoti figli di Aronne suoneranno le trombe; sarà una legge perenne per voi e per i vostri discendenti.
9 And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.	9 Quando nel vostro paese andrete in guerra contro il nemico che vi attaccherà, suonerete le trombe con squilli di acclamazione e sarete ricordati davanti al Signore vostro Dio e sarete liberati dai vostri nemici.
10 On the day of your gladness also, and at your appointed feasts, and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; they shall serve you for remembrance before your God: I am the LORD your God."	10 Così anche nei vostri giorni di gioia, nelle vostre solennità e al principio dei vostri mesi, suonerete le trombe quando offrirete olocausti e sacrifici di comunione; esse vi ricorderanno davanti al vostro Dio. Io sono il Signore vostro Dio".
11 In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony,	11 Il secondo anno, il secondo mese, il venti del mese, la nube si alzò sopra la Dimora della testimonianza.
12 and the people of Israel set out by stages from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud settled down in the wilderness of Paran.	12 Gli Israeliti partirono dal deserto del Sinai secondo il loro ordine di marcia; la nube si fermò nel deserto di Paran.
13 They set out for the first time at the command of the LORD by Moses.	13 Così si misero in cammino la prima volta, secondo l'ordine del Signore, dato per mezzo di Mosè.
14 The standard of the camp of the men of Judah set out first by their companies; and over their host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.	14 Per prima si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Giuda, diviso secondo le loro schiere. Nacason, figlio di Amminadab, comandava la schiera di Giuda.
15 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.	15 Netaneel, figlio di Suar, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Issacar;
16 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.	16 Eliab, figlio di Chelon, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Zàbulon.
17 And when the tabernacle was taken down, the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who carried the tabernacle, set out.	17 La Dimora fu smontata e i figli di Gherson e i figli di Merari si misero in cammino portando la Dimora.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set out by their companies; and over their host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.	18 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento di Ruben, diviso secondo le sue schiere. Elisur, figlio di Sedeur, comandava la schiera di Ruben.
19 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Simeon was Shelumi-el the son of Zurishaddai.	19 Selumiel, figlio di Surisaddai, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Simeone.
20 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.	20 Eliasaf, figlio di Deuel, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Gad.
21 Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy things, and the tabernacle was set up before their arrival.	21 Poi si mossero i Keatiti, portando gli oggetti sacri; gli altri dovevano erigere la Dimora, prima che questi arrivassero.
22 And the standard of the camp of the men of Ephraim set out by their companies; and over their host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.	22 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Efraim, diviso secondo le sue schiere. Elisama, figlio di Ammiud, comandava la schiera di Efraim.
23 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.	23 Gamliel, figlio di Pedasur, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Manàsse.
24 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.	24 Abidau, figlio di Ghideoni, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Beniamino.
25 Then the standard of the camp of the men of Dan, acting as the rear guard of all the camps, set out by their companies; and over their host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.	25 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Dan, diviso secondo le sue schiere, formando la retroguardia di tutti gli accampamenti. Achiezer, figlio di Ammisaddai, comandava la schiera di Dan.
26 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran.	26 Paghiel, figlio di Ocran, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Aser,
27 And over the host of the tribe of the men of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.	27 e Achira, figlio di Enan, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Nèftali.
28 This was the order of march of the people of Israel according to their hosts, when they set out.	28 Questo era l'ordine con cui gli Israeliti si misero in cammino, secondo le loro schiere. Così levarono l'accampamento.
29 And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said, 'I will give it to you'; come with us, and we will do you good; for the LORD has promised good to Israel."	29 Mosè disse a Obab, figlio di Reuel, Madianita, suocero di Mosè: "Noi stiamo per partire, verso il luogo del quale il Signore ha detto: Io ve lo darò in possesso. Vieni con noi e ti faremo del bene, perché il Signore ha promesso di fare il bene a Israele".
30 But he said to him, "I will not go; I will depart to my own land and to my kindred."	30 Gli rispose: "Io non verrò ma tornerò al mio paese e dai miei parenti". Mosè disse:
31 And he said, "Do not leave us, I pray you, for you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you will serve as eyes for us.	31 "Non ci lasciare poiché tu conosci i luoghi dove ci accamperemo nel deserto e sarai per noi come gli occhi.
32 And if you go with us, whatever good the LORD will do to us, the same will we do to you."	32 Se vieni con noi, qualunque bene il Signore farà a noi, noi lo faremo a te".
33 So they set out from the mount of the LORD three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them three days' journey, to seek out a resting place for them.	33 Così partirono dal monte del Signore e fecero tre giornate di cammino; l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore li precedeva durante le tre giornate di cammino, per cercare loro un luogo di sosta.
34 And the cloud of the LORD was over them by day, whenever they set out from the camp.	34 La nube del Signore era sopra di loro durante il giorno da quando erano partiti.
35 And whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Arise, O LORD, and let thy enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee."	35 Quando l'arca partiva, Mosè diceva: "Sorgi, Signore, e siano dispersi i tuoi nemici e fuggano da te coloro che ti odiano".
36 And when it rested, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel."	36 Quando si posava, diceva: "Torna, Signore, alle miriadi di migliaia di Israele".
