1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let those who hate him flee before him!	1 Au maître de chant. De David. Psaume. Cantique.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before fire, let the wicked perish before God!	2 Que Dieu se lève et ses ennemis se dispersent, que devant lui s’enfuient ceux qui le haïssent!
3 But let the righteous be joyful; let them exult before God; let them be jubilant with joy!	3 Tu n’en laisses que fumée qui se dissipe, ils se défont comme la cire sur le feu. Sous la face de Dieu les méchants périssent,
4 Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift up a song to him who rides upon the clouds; his name is the LORD, exult before him!	4 les justes au contraire se réjouissent, ils sautent et crient de joie devant Dieu.
5 Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.	5 Chantez à Dieu, jouez et célébrez son nom, frayez la route au Chevalier céleste. Réjouissez-vous pour le Seigneur et dansez devant lui.
6 God gives the desolate a home to dwell in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.	6 Père de l’orphelin, défenseur de la veuve, il est Dieu dans sa sainte demeure.
7 O God, when thou didst go forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness, [Selah]	7 Il donne à l’isolé la famille et la maison, il renvoie libre celui qu’on avait enchaîné, mais il maintient les rebelles dans leurs geôles.
8 the earth quaked, the heavens poured down rain, at the presence of God; yon Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.	8 Ô Dieu, tu es sorti précédant ton peuple sur les chemins du désert.
9 Rain in abundance, O God, thou didst shed abroad; thou didst restore thy heritage as it languished;	9 En ce temps la terre trembla, les cieux se défirent, à l’approche du Seigneur, le Dieu d’Israël.
10 thy flock found a dwelling in it; in thy goodness, O God, thou didst provide for the needy.	10 Alors tu déversas une pluie de largesses, ô Dieu, pour raffermir ton peuple épuisé.
11 The Lord gives the command; great is the host of those who bore the tidings:	11 Les tiens trouvèrent une demeure que toi, toujours bon, tu destinais à l’indigent.
12 "The kings of the armies, they flee, they flee!" The women at home divide the spoil,	12 Puis le Seigneur met en branle les messagères: “Le Seigneur a dispersé une armée immense!”
13 though they stay among the sheepfolds-- the wings of a dove covered with silver, its pinions with green gold.	13 Ils fuient! Les rois des armées sont en fuite, et c’est une ménagère qui répartit le butin:
14 When the Almighty scattered kings there, snow fell on Zalmon.	14 des ailes de colombe revêtues d’argent, avec leurs plumes couleur d’or.
15 O mighty mountain, mountain of Bashan; O many-peaked mountain, mountain of Bashan!	15 Et comme le tout-Puissant mettait les rois en fuite, la neige tombait sur le Mont Sombre.
16 Why look you with envy, O many-peaked mountain, at the mount which God desired for his abode, yea, where the LORD will dwell for ever?	16 Quelle montagne altière, la montagne de Bashan, quels monts escarpés, les monts de Bashan!
17 With mighty chariotry, twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the holy place.	17 Mais vous voilà jaloux, monts escarpés, jaloux de la montagne où Dieu met sa demeure: sachez que le Seigneur y sera à jamais.
18 Thou didst ascend the high mount, leading captives in thy train, and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.	18 Dieu a ses chars, par dizaines de milliers, avec eux il est passé du Sinaï au sanctuaire.
19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. [Selah]	19 Tu es monté sur les hauteurs, tu as capturé des captifs, tu as reçu des hommes en tribut et même les rebelles resteront près de Dieu.
20 Our God is a God of salvation; and to GOD, the Lord, belongs escape from death.	20 Béni soit le Seigneur, jour après jour, ce Dieu qui sauve et qui nous prend en charge!
21 But God will shatter the heads of his enemies, the hairy crown of him who walks in his guilty ways.	21 Ce Dieu s’est fait pour nous Dieu des délivrances, Yahvé, le Seigneur, nous fait échapper à la mort.
22 The Lord said, "I will bring them back from Bashan, I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,	22 C’est le Dieu qui fracasse la tête de l’ennemi, le crâne chevelu des habitués du crime.
23 that you may bathe your feet in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from the foe."	23 Il a dit: “Je les rechercherai en Bashan et jusqu’au fond de la mer.
24 Thy solemn processions are seen, O God, the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary--	24 Je ferai que ton pied baigne dans le sang, que tes chiens goûtent au sang de l’ennemi.”
25 the singers in front, the minstrels last, between them maidens playing timbrels:	25 Ô Dieu, on a vu tes processions, les processions de mon Dieu, de mon Roi, au sanctuaire.
26 "Bless God in the great congregation, the LORD, O you who are of Israel's fountain!"	26 Les chantres vont devant, les musiciens derrière, les filles au milieu avec leurs tambourins.
27 There is Benjamin, the least of them, in the lead, the princes of Judah in their throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.	27 En chœurs ils bénissent Dieu, ils bénissent le Seigneur aux fêtes d’Israël.
28 Summon thy might, O God; show thy strength, O God, thou who hast wrought for us.	28 Benjamin d’abord, le plus jeune, il ouvre la marche; les princes de Juda en habits brodés, les princes de Zabulon et ceux de Nephtali.
29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem kings bear gifts to thee.	29 Ô Dieu, parle avec force, avec cette force que tu mis en œuvre pour nous.
30 Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples. Trample under foot those who lust after tribute; scatter the peoples who delight in war.	30 De ton Temple, le toit de Jérusalem, où les rois viennent avec leurs présents,
31 Let bronze be brought from Egypt; let Ethiopia hasten to stretch out her hands to God.	31 menace la bête des roseaux, avec ses taureaux, tous ces peuples et leurs maîtres qui aiment la guerre. Qu’ils t’offrent repentants, l’or et l’argent.
32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord, [Selah]	32 D’Égypte viendront les plus riches, l’Éthiopie élèvera ses mains vers Dieu.
33 to him who rides in the heavens, the ancient heavens; lo, he sends forth his voice, his mighty voice.	33 Royaumes de la terre, chantez pour Dieu, jouez pour le Seigneur,
34 Ascribe power to God, whose majesty is over Israel, and his power is in the skies.	34 le Chevalier des cieux, des cieux du premier jour. Voici qu’il élève la voix, une voix puissante.
35 Terrible is God in his sanctuary, the God of Israel, he gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!	35 Reconnaissez à Dieu la puissance; en Israël il est grand, dans les nuées il est puissant.
	36 Il est redoutable en son sanctuaire, lui, le Dieu d’Israël; il donne à son peuple force et puissance: Béni soit Dieu!
