Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition Pattloch Bibel
To the choirmaster: according to Lilies. A Maskil of the Sons of Korah; a love song. My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.1 [Dem Chorleiter. Nach "Lilien". Von den Korachiten. Weisheitsgedicht, Liebeslied.]
You are the fairest of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you for ever.2 Mein Herz schlägt höher zum Festgedicht, ich singe dem König mein hehres Lied.
In your majesty ride forth victoriously for the cause of truth and to defend the right; let your right hand teach you dread deeds!4 Gürte dein Schwert um die Hüften, du Held, deinen prächtigen Schmuck!
Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you.5 Glück auf! Ziehe hin für die Sache der Treue und rechten Ergebenheit! Deine rechte Hand soll dich furchterregende Taten lehren!
Your divine throne endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity;6 Deine Pfeile sind scharf, Völker wirst du erschrecken; denn sie treffen ins Herz der Feinde des Königs.
you love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows;7 Dein Thron bleibt wie Gottes Thron für immer und ewig. Ein gerechtes Zepter ist dein Königszepter.
your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad;8 Du liebst das Recht und hassest das Unrecht. Deshalb hat dich der Herr, dein Gott, mit Freudenöl gesalbt vor deinen Gefährten.
daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.9 Von Myrrhe, Aloë und Kassia duften alle deine Gewänder. Aus dem Elfenbeinpalast erfreut dich das Saitenspiel.
Hear, O daughter, consider, and incline your ear; forget your people and your father's house;10 Eine Königstochter steht da in deinem kostbaren Schmuck: die Gemahlin zu deiner Rechten in Ophir-Gold.
and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him;11 Höre, Tochter, sieh her und neige dein Ohr! Vergiß dein Volk und dein Vaterhaus!
the people of Tyre will sue your favor with gifts, the richest of the people12 Der König begehrt deine Schönheit, er ist ja dein Herr; so huldige ihm!
with all kinds of wealth. The princess is decked in her chamber with gold-woven robes;13 Es suchen deine Gunst mit Geschenken die Tochter Tyrus, mit all ihren Schätzen die Reichsten des Volkes.
in many-colored robes she is led to the king, with her virgin companions, her escort, in her train.14 Tritt ein, Königstochter, in Geflechten von Gold, gekleidet in bunte Gewänder!
With joy and gladness they are led along as they enter the palace of the king.15 Jungfrauen führt man zum König als ihr Gefolge, ihre Gespielinnen bringt man zu dir.
Instead of your fathers shall be your sons; you will make them princes in all the earth.16 Man führt sie mit Freuden und Jubel, sie treten ein in den Königspalast.
I will cause your name to be celebrated in all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you for ever and ever.17 An Stelle deiner Ahnen erstehen dir Söhne; du kannst sie zu Fürsten machen im ganzen Land.
Ich verkünde dir Ruhm durch alle Geschlechter. Deshalb werden Völker dich preisen auf immer und ewig.
