Psalms 28

1 A Psalm of David. To thee, O LORD, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the Pit.	1 Von David.Zu dir, HERR, rufe ich:mein Fels, o wende dich nicht schweigend von mir ab,auf daß nicht, wenn du mir stumm bleibst,ich den ins Grab (oder: in die Unterwelt) Gesunknen gleiche.
2 Hear the voice of my supplication, as I cry to thee for help, as I lift up my hands toward thy most holy sanctuary.	2 Höre mein lautes Flehen, wenn ich zu dir schreie,wenn ich meine Hände erhebe nach deinem Allerheiligsten!
3 Take me not off with the wicked, with those who are workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors, while mischief is in their hearts.	3 Raffe mich nicht weg mit den Frevlernund den Übeltätern,die freundlich reden mit ihren Nächstenund dabei Arges im Herzen sinnen!
4 Requite them according to their work, and according to the evil of their deeds; requite them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.	4 Vergilt du ihnen nach ihrem Tun,nach der Bosheit ihrer Handlungen,vergilt ihnen nach dem Werk ihrer Hände,zahl’ ihnen ihr Verhalten heim, wie sie’s verdienen!
5 Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, or the work of his hands, he will break them down and build them up no more.	5 Denn sie achten nicht auf das Walten des HERRN und das Werk seiner Hände;drum wird er sie niederreißen und nicht wieder aufbaun.
6 Blessed be the LORD! for he has heard the voice of my supplications.	6 Gepriesen sei der HERR, denn er hat gehörtmeinen lauten Hilferuf!
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.	7 Der HERR ist meine Stärke und mein Schild;auf ihn hat mein Herz vertraut, da ist mir Hilfe geworden.So frohlockt denn mein Herz,und mit meinem Liede will ich ihm danken.
8 The LORD is the strength of his people, he is the saving refuge of his anointed.	8 Der HERR ist seines Volkes Stärkeund seines Gesalbten rettende Zuflucht.
9 O save thy people, and bless thy heritage; be thou their shepherd, and carry them for ever.	9 O hilf deinem Volk und segne dein Erbe,weide sie und trage sie ewiglich!
