Nehemiah 11

1 Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem; and the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem the holy city, while nine tenths remained in the other towns.	1 Die Obersten des Volkes ließen sich in Jerusalem nieder. Die übrigen Männer warfen das Los und veranlassten so jeden Zehnten, sich in der heiligen Stadt Jerusalem niederzulassen. Neun Zehntel blieben in den Landstädten.
2 And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem.	2 Das Volk aber segnete alle Männer, die sich bereit erklärten, in Jerusalem zu wohnen.
3 These are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem; but in the towns of Judah every one lived on his property in their towns: Israel, the priests, the Levites, the temple servants, and the descendants of Solomon's servants.	3 Das sind die Oberhäupter des Bezirks, die in Jerusalem und in den Städten Judas wohnten. Alle wohnten in ihren Städten, jeder auf seinem Besitz: die Israeliten, die Priester, die Leviten, die Tempeldiener und die Nachkommen der Knechte Salomos.
4 And in Jerusalem lived certain of the sons of Judah and of the sons of Benjamin. Of the sons of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez;	4 In Jerusalem wohnten von den Angehörigen der Stämme Juda und Benjamin folgende Männer: von den Angehörigen des Stammes Juda: Ataja, der Sohn Usijas, des Sohnes Secharjas, des Sohnes Amarjas, des Sohnes Schefatjas, des Sohnes Mahalels, von den Nachkommen des Perez;
5 and Ma-aseiah the son of Baruch, son of Col-hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of the Shilonite.	5 ferner Maaseja, der Sohn Baruchs, des Sohnes Kolhoses, des Sohnes Hasajas, des Sohnes Adajas, des Sohnes Jojaribs, des Sohnes Secharjas, von den Nachkommen Schelas.

14 and their brethren, mighty men of valor, a hundred and twenty-eight; their overseer was Zabdiel the son of Haggedolim.	14 und seine Brüder, 128 kriegstüchtige Männer. Ihr Vorsteher war Sabdiël, der Sohn Haggedolims.

18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred and eighty-four.	18 Insgesamt wohnten 284 Leviten in der Heiligen Stadt.
19 The gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon and their brethren, who kept watch at the gates, were a hundred and seventy-two.	19 Dazu die Torwächter: Akkub, Talmon und ihre Brüder, die an den Toren Wache hielten, insgesamt 172 Männer.
20 And the rest of Israel, and of the priests and the Levites, were in all the towns of Judah, every one in his inheritance.	20 Die Israeliten, Priester und Leviten wohnten in den anderen Städten Judas, jeder auf seinem Besitztum.

22 The overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, of the sons of Asaph, the singers, over the work of the house of God.	22 Vorsteher der Leviten in Jerusalem war Usi, der Sohn Banis, des Sohnes Haschabjas, des Sohnes Mattanjas, des Sohnes Michas, einer der Nachkommen Asafs, die nach der Dienstordnung des Hauses Gottes zu singen hatten.

29 in En-rimmon, in Zorah, in Jarmuth,	29 in En-Rimmon, Zora, Jarmut,
30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its villages.
