Genesis 22

1 After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I."	1 Allora, dopo queste cose, Dio mise alla prova Abramo e gli disse: «Abramo, Abramo!» Rispose: «Eccomi!»
2 He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."	2 Dio disse: «Prendi il tuo figlio, il tuo unico che tu ami, Isacco, e va’ nel territorio di Moria e ivi offrilo in olocausto su un monte che ti indicherò».
3 So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac; and he cut the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.	3 Abramo si alzò di mattina per tempo, sellò l’asino, prese con sé due servitori e il figlio Isacco, poi spaccò la legna per l’olocausto e si mise in viaggio verso il luogo che Dio gli aveva indicato.
4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off.	4 Il terzo giorno, Abramo, alzando gli occhi, vide da lontano quel luogo.
5 Then Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the ass; I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you."	5 Allora Abramo disse ai due servitori: «Fermatevi qui con l’asino; io e il ragazzo dobbiamo andare fin lassù, faremo adorazione e poi ritorneremo da voi».
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.	6 Abramo prese la legna dell’olocausto e la caricò su Isacco suo figlio, prese in mano il fuoco e il coltello, e tutt’e due proseguirono insieme.
7 And Isaac said to his father Abraham, "My father!" And he said, "Here am I, my son." He said, "Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"	7 Isacco si rivolse ad Abramo suo padre e disse: «Padre mio!» Quegli rispose: «Eccomi, figlio mio». Riprese: «Ecco qui il fuoco e la legna, ma dov’è l’agnello per l’olocausto?»
8 Abraham said, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together.	8 Rispose Abramo: «Dio stesso si provvederà l’agnello per l’olocausto, figlio mio!» E proseguirono tutt’e due insieme.
9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.	9 Così arrivarono al luogo che Dio gli aveva indicato; là Abramo costruì l’altare, vi dispose la legna, legò Isacco suo figlio e lo depose sull’altare, sopra la legna.
10 Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.	10 Poi Abramo stese la mano e prese il coltello per immolare suo figlio.
11 But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I."	11 Ma un angelo di Jahvè lo chiamò dal cielo e gli disse: «Abramo, Abramo!» Rispose: «Eccomi!»
12 He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."	12 L’angelo disse: «Non stendere la mano contro il ragazzo e non fargli alcun male! Ora so che tu temi Dio e non mi hai rifiutato tuo figlio, il tuo unico».
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.	13 Allora Abramo alzò gli occhi e vide che c’era un ariete impigliato con le corna in un cespuglio. Abramo andò a prendere l’ariete e lo offrì in olocausto al posto del figlio.
14 So Abraham called the name of that place The LORD will provide; as it is said to this day, "On the mount of the LORD it shall be provided."	14 Abramo chiamò quel luogo «Jahvè provvede»; perciò oggi si dice: «Sul monte Jahvè provvede».
15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time from heaven,	15 Poi l’angelo di Jahvè chiamò dal cielo Abramo per la seconda volta
16 and said, "By myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,	16 e disse: «Giuro per me stesso — oracolo di Jahvè —: “Perché tu hai fatto questo e non mi hai rifiutato tuo figlio, il tuo unico,
17 I will indeed bless you, and I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore. And your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies,	17 io ti benedirò con ogni benedizione e moltiplicherò assai la tua discendenza come le stelle del cielo e come la sabbia che è sulla spiaggia del mare; la tua discendenza si impadronirà della porta dei suoi nemici.
18 and by your descendants shall all the nations of the earth bless themselves, because you have obeyed my voice."	18 Saranno benedette, per la tua discendenza, tutte le nazioni della terra, in premio del fatto che tu hai ubbidito alla mia voce”».
19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.	19 Poi Abramo tornò dai suoi servitori e insieme si misero in cammino verso Bersabea; Abramo abitò a Bersabea.
20 Now after these things it was told Abraham, "Behold, Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:	20 Allora, dopo queste cose, ad Abramo fu portata questa notizia: «Ecco anche Milcha ha partorito figli a Nakhor tuo fratello».
21 Uz the first-born, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,	21 Uz il primogenito, Buz suo fratello, Kemuel padre di Aram,
22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel."	22 Chesed, Khazo, Pildash, Jidlaf e Batuel.
23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.	23 Batuel generò Rebecca; Milcha partorì questi otto a Nakhor, fratello di Abramo.
24 Moreover, his concubine, whose name was Reumah, bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.	24 Anche la sua concubina, chiamata Buia, partorì Tebakh, Gakham, Takhash e Maacha.
