1 And having called together his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to cure every sickness and every infirmity.	1 Dann rief er seine zwölf Jünger zu sich und gab ihnen die Vollmacht, die unreinen Geister auszutreiben und alle Krankheiten und Leiden zu heilen.
2 Now the names of the twelve Apostles are these: the First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,	2 Die Namen der zwölf Apostel sind: an erster Stelle Simon, genannt Petrus, und sein Bruder Andreas, dann Jakobus, der Sohn des Zebedäus, und sein Bruder Johannes,
3 James of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector, and James of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus,	3 Philippus und Bartholomäus, Thomas und Matthäus, der Zöllner, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, und Thaddäus,

5 Jesus sent these twelve, instructing them, saying: “Do not travel by the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter into the city of the Samaritans,	5 Diese Zwölf sandte Jesus aus und gebot ihnen: Geht nicht zu den Heiden und betretet keine Stadt der Samariter,
6 but instead go to the sheep who have fallen away from the house of Israel.	6 sondern geht zu den verlorenen Schafen des Hauses Israel.
7 And going forth, preach, saying: ‘For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.’	7 Geht und verkündet: Das Himmelreich ist nahe.
8 Cure the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You have received freely, so give freely.	8 Heilt Kranke, weckt Tote auf, macht Aussätzige rein, treibt Dämonen aus! Umsonst habt ihr empfangen, umsonst sollt ihr geben.
9 Do not choose to possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your belts,	9 Steckt nicht Gold, Silber und Kupfermünzen in euren Gürtel.
10 nor provisions for the journey, nor two tunics, nor shoes, nor a staff. For the laborer deserves his portion.	10 Nehmt keine Vorratstasche mit auf den Weg, kein zweites Hemd, keine Schuhe, keinen Wanderstab; denn wer arbeitet, hat ein Recht auf seinen Unterhalt.
11 Now, into whatever city or town you will enter, inquire as to who is worthy within it. And stay there until you depart.	11 Wenn ihr in eine Stadt oder in ein Dorf kommt, erkundigt euch, wer es wert ist, euch aufzunehmen; bei ihm bleibt, bis ihr den Ort wieder verlasst.
12 Then, when you enter into the house, greet it, saying, ‘Peace to this house.’	12 Wenn ihr in ein Haus kommt, dann wünscht ihm Frieden.
13 And if, indeed, that house is worthy, your peace will rest upon it. But if it is not worthy, your peace will return to you.	13 Wenn das Haus es wert ist, soll der Friede, den ihr ihm wünscht, bei ihm einkehren. Ist das Haus es aber nicht wert, dann soll der Friede zu euch zurückkehren.
14 And whoever has neither received you, nor listened to your words, departing from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.	14 Wenn man euch aber in einem Haus oder in einer Stadt nicht aufnimmt und eure Worte nicht hören will, dann geht weg und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen.
15 Amen I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.	15 Amen, das sage ich euch: Dem Gebiet von Sodom und Gomorra wird es am Tag des Gerichts nicht so schlimm ergehen wie dieser Stadt.
16 Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be as prudent as serpents and as simple as doves.	16 Seht, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter die Wölfe; seid daher klug wie die Schlangen und arglos wie die Tauben!
17 But beware of men. For they will hand you over to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.	17 Nehmt euch aber vor den Menschen in Acht! Denn sie werden euch vor die Gerichte bringen und in ihren Synagogen auspeitschen.
18 And you shall be led before both rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.	18 Ihr werdet um meinetwillen vor Statthalter und Könige geführt, damit ihr vor ihnen und den Heiden Zeugnis ablegt.
19 But when they hand you over, do not choose to think about how or what to speak. For what to speak shall be given to you in that hour.	19 Wenn man euch vor Gericht stellt, macht euch keine Sorgen, wie und was ihr reden sollt; denn es wird euch in jener Stunde eingegeben, was ihr sagen sollt.
20 For it is not you who will be speaking, but the Spirit of your Father, who will speak in you.	20 Nicht ihr werdet dann reden, sondern der Geist eures Vaters wird durch euch reden.
21 And brother will hand over brother to death, and father will hand over son. And children will rise up against parents and bring about their deaths.	21 Brüder werden einander dem Tod ausliefern und Väter ihre Kinder, und die Kinder werden sich gegen ihre Eltern auflehnen und sie in den Tod schicken.
22 And you will be hated by all for the sake of my name. But whoever will have persevered, even to the end, the same shall be saved.	22 Und ihr werdet um meines Namens willen von allen gehasst werden; wer aber bis zum Ende standhaft bleibt, der wird gerettet.
23 Now when they persecute you in one city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you will not have exhausted all the cities of Israel, before the Son of man returns.	23 Wenn man euch in der einen Stadt verfolgt, so flieht in eine andere. Amen, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet nicht zu Ende kommen mit den Städten Israels, bis der Menschensohn kommt.
24 The disciple is not above the teacher, nor is the servant above his master.	24 Ein Jünger steht nicht über seinem Meister und ein Sklave nicht über seinem Herrn.
25 It is sufficient for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant, like his master. If they have called the Father of the family, ‘Beelzebub,’ how much more those of his household?	25 Der Jünger muss sich damit begnügen, dass es ihm geht wie seinem Meister, und der Sklave, dass es ihm geht wie seinem Herrn. Wenn man schon den Herrn des Hauses Beelzebul nennt, dann erst recht seine Hausgenossen.
26 Therefore, do not fear them. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known.	26 Darum fürchtet euch nicht vor ihnen! Denn nichts ist verhüllt, was nicht enthüllt wird, und nichts ist verborgen, was nicht bekannt wird.
27 What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light. And what you hear whispered in the ear, preach above the rooftops.	27 Was ich euch im Dunkeln sage, davon redet am hellen Tag, und was man euch ins Ohr flüstert, das verkündet von den Dächern.
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But instead fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.	28 Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten, die Seele aber nicht töten können, sondern fürchtet euch vor dem, der Seele und Leib ins Verderben der Hölle stürzen kann.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for one small coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father.	29 Verkauft man nicht zwei Spatzen für ein paar Pfennig? Und doch fällt keiner von ihnen zur Erde ohne den Willen eures Vaters.
30 For even the hairs of your head have all been numbered.	30 Bei euch aber sind sogar die Haare auf dem Kopf alle gezählt.
31 Therefore, do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.	31 Fürchtet euch also nicht! Ihr seid mehr wert als viele Spatzen.
32 Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father, who is in heaven.	32 Wer sich nun vor den Menschen zu mir bekennt, zu dem werde auch ich mich vor meinem Vater im Himmel bekennen.
33 But whoever will have denied me before men, I also will deny before my Father, who is in heaven.	33 Wer mich aber vor den Menschen verleugnet, den werde auch ich vor meinem Vater im Himmel verleugnen.
34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon the earth. I came, not to send peace, but the sword.	34 Denkt nicht, ich sei gekommen, um Frieden auf die Erde zu bringen. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Frieden zu bringen, sondern das Schwert.
35 For I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.	35 Denn ich bin gekommen, um den Sohn mit seinem Vater zu entzweien und die Tochter mit ihrer Mutter und die Schwiegertochter mit ihrer Schwiegermutter;
36 And the enemies of a man will be those of his own household.	36 und die Hausgenossen eines Menschen werden seine Feinde sein.
37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.	37 Wer Vater oder Mutter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht würdig, und wer Sohn oder Tochter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht würdig.
38 And whoever does not take up his cross, and follow me is not worthy of me.	38 Und wer nicht sein Kreuz auf sich nimmt und mir nachfolgt, ist meiner nicht würdig.
39 Whoever finds his life, will lose it. And whoever will have lost his life because of me, shall find it.	39 Wer das Leben gewinnen will, wird es verlieren; wer aber das Leben um meinetwillen verliert, wird es gewinnen.
40 Whoever receives you, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.	40 Wer euch aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat.
41 Whoever receives a prophet, in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet. And whoever receives the just in the name of the just shall receive the reward of the just.	41 Wer einen Propheten aufnimmt, weil es ein Prophet ist, wird den Lohn eines Propheten erhalten. Wer einen Gerechten aufnimmt, weil es ein Gerechter ist, wird den Lohn eines Gerechten erhalten.
42 And whoever shall give, even to one of the least of these, a cup of cold water to drink, solely in the name of a disciple: Amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”	42 Und wer einem von diesen Kleinen auch nur einen Becher frisches Wasser zu trinken gibt, weil es ein Jünger ist - amen, ich sage euch: Er wird gewiss nicht um seinen Lohn kommen.
