Judges 13

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Again the Israelites began doing what is evil in Yahweh's eyes, and Yahweh delivered them into thepower of the Philistines for forty years.	1 Gli Israeliti ripresero di nuovo a compiere ciò che è male agli occhi del Signore il quale li abbandonò in mano dei Filistei, per quarant'anni.
2 There was a man of Zorah of the tribe of Dan, cal ed Manoah. His wife was barren; she had borne nochildren.	2 C'era un uomo della città di Zorea, della gente di Dan, il quale si chiamava Manoach, la cui moglie, essendo sterile, non aveva avuto figli.
3 The Angel of Yahweh appeared to this woman and said to her, 'You are barren and have had no child,but you are going to conceive and give birth to a son.	3 A questa donna apparve una volta un messaggero del Signore, il quale le disse: "Ecco, per quanto tu non abbia avuto figli, data la tua sterilità, tu concepirai e darai alla luce un figlio;
4 From now on, take great care. Drink no wine or fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean.	4 ma ora devi astenerti dal bere vino e altra bevanda inebriante e dal mangiare cose impure,
5 For you are going to conceive and give birth to a son. No razor is to touch his head, for the boy is to beGod's nazirite from his mother's womb; and he wil start rescuing Israel from the power of the Philistines.'	5 perché il figlio che tu concepirai e darai alla luce sarà nazireo di Dio fin da quando sarà nel tuo seno; per questo il rasoio non dovrà mai accostarsi alla sua testa. Egli comincerà a salvare Israele dall'oppressione dei Filistei".
6 The woman then went and told her husband, 'A man of God has just come to me, who looked like theAngel of God, so majestic was he. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tel me his name.	6 La donna andò a raccontare la cosa al marito: "Ho incontrato un uomo di Dio, che all'aspetto sembrava un suo messaggero, tanto era venerando. Non gli ho domandato da dove veniva, né egli mi ha detto il suo nome,
7 But he said to me, "You are going to conceive and wil give birth to a son. From now on, drink no wineor fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean. For the boy is to be God's nazirite from his mother's womb to hisdying day." '	7 ma mi ha predetto che concepirò e darò alla luce un figlio e che ora non devo più né bere vino o altra bevanda inebriante, né mangiare alcuna cosa impura, perché il bambino sarà nazireo di Dio da quando sarà nel mio seno fino alla sua morte".
8 Manoah then pleaded with Yahweh and said, 'I beg you, Lord, let the man of God that you sent cometo us again and instruct us what to do about the child when he is born.'	8 Allora Manoach si rivolse al Signore con questa preghiera: "Ti prego, Signore, fa' che l'uomo di Dio che tu hai inviato venga ancora una volta da noi a indicarci che cosa dobbiamo fare del bambino che deve nascere".
9 Yahweh heard Manoah's prayer, and the Angel of Yahweh visited the woman again while she wassitting in a field and when her husband Manoah was not with her.	9 Dio esaudì la preghiera di Manoach, e il messaggero di Dio si presentò ancora una volta dalla donna, mentre questa era nei campi e suo marito Manoach non c'era.
10 The woman quickly ran and told her husband, 'Look,' she said, 'the man who came to me the otherday has appeared to me again.'	10 La donna corse subito ad informare il marito che le era apparso lo stesso uomo che aveva incontrato l'altra volta.
11 Manoah got up, followed his wife, came to the man and said to him, 'Are you the man who spoke tothis woman?' He replied, 'I am.'	11 Manoach seguì sua moglie e, raggiunto l'uomo, gli domandò se era lui che aveva parlato con sua moglie. Avuta risposta affermativa,
12 Manoah then said, 'When your words come true, what wil be the boy's way of life?'	12 Manoach disse: "Quando la tua parola si compirà, quali saranno le norme che dovranno regolare la vita del bambino?".
13 The Angel of Yahweh replied to Manoah, 'From everything that I forbade this woman, let her abstain.	13 Il messaggero del Signore rispose: "Il bambino deve astenersi da tutto ciò che ho già detto a sua madre:
14 Let her swal ow nothing that comes from the vine, let her drink no wine or fermented liquor, let her eatnothing unclean and let her obey al the orders that I have given her.'	14 non deve cibarsi di nessun prodotto della vigna né bere vino o altra bevanda inebriante; non deve mangiare niente di impuro: insomma dovrà astenersi da quanto ho proibito a sua madre".
15 Manoah then said to the Angel of Yahweh, 'Al ow us to detain you while we prepare a kid for you' --for Manoah did not know that this was the Angel of Yahweh.	15 Allora Manoach disse al messaggero del Signore: "Noi vogliamo trattenerti per prepararti un capretto".
16 The Angel of Yahweh said to Manoah, 'Even if you did detain me, I should not eat your food; but ifyou wish to prepare a burnt offering, offer it to Yahweh.'	16 Ma il messaggero del Signore rispose a Manoach: "Anche se mi tratterrai presso di te, non mangerò delle tue vivande, ma se vuoi farne un olocausto per il Signore, offrilo pure". Manoach infatti non aveva ancora compreso che quell'uomo era un messaggero del Signore.
17 Manoah then said to the Angel of Yahweh, 'What is your name, so that we may honour you whenyour words come true?'	17 Allora Manoach chiese al messaggero del Signore quale fosse il suo nome, perché, quando le sue parole si fossero avverate, voleva fargli onore.
18 The Angel of Yahweh replied, 'Why ask my name? It is a name of wonder.'	18 Ma quegli rispose: "Perché vuoi sapere il mio nome? Esso è al di sopra della comprensione umana".
19 Manoah then took the kid and the oblation and offered it on the rock as a burnt offering to Yahwehthe Wonderworker. Manoah and his wife looked on.	19 Manoach prese il capretto e l'oblazione, li offrì sulla pietra al Signore che opera prodigi.
20 Now, as the flame rose heavenwards from the altar, the Angel of Yahweh ascended in this flamebefore the eyes of Manoah and his wife, and they fel face downwards on the ground.	20 Or avvenne che mentre la fiamma saliva dall'altare verso il cielo, il messaggero del Signore si staccò dal suolo ascendendo nella fiamma. A tale vista Manoach e sua moglie si prostrarono al suolo in adorazione.
21 After this, the Angel of Yahweh did not appear any more to Manoah and his wife, but Manoahunderstood that this had been the Angel of Yahweh.	21 Il messaggero del Signore scomparve alla vista di Manoach e di sua moglie; allora Manoach comprese che quello era il messaggero del Signore
22 And Manoah said to his wife, 'We are certain to die, because we have seen God.'	22 e disse a sua moglie: "Certo morremo, perché abbiamo visto Dio!".
23 His wife replied, 'If Yahweh had meant to kil us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering andoblation from us, he would not have let us see all this and, at the same time, have told us such things.'	23 Ma sua moglie rispose: "Se il Signore ci avesse voluto far morire, non avrebbe accettato dalle nostre mani né l'olocausto né l'oblazione, non ci avrebbe fatto vedere quello che abbiamo visto e non ci avrebbe fatto udire quello che ora abbiamo udito".
24 The woman gave birth to a son and cal ed him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him;	24 La donna poi dette alla luce un figlio, al quale pose nome Sansone. Il bambino crebbe benedetto dal Signore.
25 and the spirit of Yahweh began to stir him in the Camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.	25 Lo spirito del Signore cominciò ad agire sopra di lui a Macane-Dan, fra Zorea ed Estaol.
