Judges 13

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Again the Israelites began doing what is evil in Yahweh's eyes, and Yahweh delivered them into thepower of the Philistines for forty years.	1 los israelitas volvieron a hacer lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, y el Señor los entregó en manos de los filisteos durante cuarenta años.
2 There was a man of Zorah of the tribe of Dan, cal ed Manoah. His wife was barren; she had borne nochildren.	2 Había un hombre de Sorá, del clan de los danitas, que se llamaba Manóaj. Su mujer era estéril y no tenía hijos.
3 The Angel of Yahweh appeared to this woman and said to her, 'You are barren and have had no child,but you are going to conceive and give birth to a son.	3 El Angel del Señor se apareció a la mujer y le dijo: «Tú eres estéril y no has tenido hijos, pero vas a concebir y a dar a luz un hijo.
4 From now on, take great care. Drink no wine or fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean.	4 Ahora, deja de beber vino o cualquier bebida fermentada, y no comas nada impuro.
5 For you are going to conceive and give birth to a son. No razor is to touch his head, for the boy is to beGod's nazirite from his mother's womb; and he wil start rescuing Israel from the power of the Philistines.'	5 Porque concebirás y darás a luz un hijo. La navaja nunca pasará por su cabeza, porque el niño estará consagrado a Dios desde el seno materno. El comenzará a salvar a Israel del poder de los filisteos».
6 The woman then went and told her husband, 'A man of God has just come to me, who looked like theAngel of God, so majestic was he. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tel me his name.	6 La mujer fue a decir a su marido: «Un hombre de Dios ha venido a verme. Su aspecto era tan imponente, que parecía un ángel de Dios. Yo no le pregunté de dónde era, ni él me dio a conocer su nombre.
7 But he said to me, "You are going to conceive and wil give birth to a son. From now on, drink no wineor fermented liquor, and eat nothing unclean. For the boy is to be God's nazirite from his mother's womb to hisdying day." '	7 Peor me dijo: «Concebirás y darás a luz un hijo. En adelante, no bebas vino, ni comas nada impuro, porque el niño estará consagrado a Dios desde el seno de su madres hasta el día de su muerte».
8 Manoah then pleaded with Yahweh and said, 'I beg you, Lord, let the man of God that you sent cometo us again and instruct us what to do about the child when he is born.'	8 Entonces Manóaj oró a Dios, diciendo: «Te ruego, Señor, que vuelva el hombre que tú nos has enviado y nos indique qué debemos hacer con el niño, cuando haya nacido».
9 Yahweh heard Manoah's prayer, and the Angel of Yahweh visited the woman again while she wassitting in a field and when her husband Manoah was not with her.	9 Dios escuchó la voz de Manóaj, y el Angel de Dios se presentó otra vez a la mujer, mientras se encontraba en el campo y su marido no estaba con ella.
10 The woman quickly ran and told her husband, 'Look,' she said, 'the man who came to me the otherday has appeared to me again.'	10 La mujer corrió en seguida a avisarle a su marido: «Se me apareció el hombre que vino a verme el otro día».
11 Manoah got up, followed his wife, came to the man and said to him, 'Are you the man who spoke tothis woman?' He replied, 'I am.'	11 Manóaj se levantó y fue detrás de su mujer. Y al llegar adonde estaba el hombre, le dijo: «¿Eres tú el que le ha hablado a esta mujer?». «Sí, soy yo», respondió él.
12 Manoah then said, 'When your words come true, what wil be the boy's way of life?'	12 Entonces Manóaj le preguntó: «Cuando suceda lo que tú has dicho, ¿qué forma de vida tendrá que llevar el niño y cuál será su conducta?».
13 The Angel of Yahweh replied to Manoah, 'From everything that I forbade this woman, let her abstain.	13 El Angel del Señor dijo a Manóaj: «El tendrá que abstenerse de todo lo que le dije a esta mujer:
14 Let her swal ow nothing that comes from the vine, let her drink no wine or fermented liquor, let her eatnothing unclean and let her obey al the orders that I have given her.'	14 no probará el fruto de la vid, ni beberá vino ni bebida fermentada; no comerá nada impuro, y observará todo lo que le he mandado a esta mujer».
15 Manoah then said to the Angel of Yahweh, 'Al ow us to detain you while we prepare a kid for you' --for Manoah did not know that this was the Angel of Yahweh.	15 Manóaj dijo al Angel del Señor: «Quédate aquí y te prepararemos un cabrito».
16 The Angel of Yahweh said to Manoah, 'Even if you did detain me, I should not eat your food; but ifyou wish to prepare a burnt offering, offer it to Yahweh.'	16 Pero el Angel del Señor le respondió: «Aunque me obligues a quedarme, no probaré tu comida. Si quieres hacer un holocausto, ofrécelo al Señor. Manóaj no se había dado cuente de que aquel hombre era el Angel del Señor.
17 Manoah then said to the Angel of Yahweh, 'What is your name, so that we may honour you whenyour words come true?'	17 Entonces Manóaj le preguntó: «¿Cuál es tu nombre, para que podamos honrarte cuando suceda lo que tú has dicho?».
18 The Angel of Yahweh replied, 'Why ask my name? It is a name of wonder.'	18 Peor el Angel del Señor dijo: «¿Por qué me preguntas mi nombre? El es misterioso».
19 Manoah then took the kid and the oblation and offered it on the rock as a burnt offering to Yahwehthe Wonderworker. Manoah and his wife looked on.	19 Manóaj tomó el cabrito y la oblación, y los ofreció sobre la roca en holocausto al Señor, que es misterioso en sus acciones. Manóaj y su mujer estaban mirando.
20 Now, as the flame rose heavenwards from the altar, the Angel of Yahweh ascended in this flamebefore the eyes of Manoah and his wife, and they fel face downwards on the ground.	20 Y cuando la llama subía del altar hacia el cielo, el Angel del Señor subía en la llama del altar, a la vista de Manóaj y de su mujer, que cayeron con el rostro en tierra.
21 After this, the Angel of Yahweh did not appear any more to Manoah and his wife, but Manoahunderstood that this had been the Angel of Yahweh.	21 El Angel del Señor ya no se volvió a aparecer a Manóaj ni a su mujer. Entonces Manóaj reconoció que aquel hombre era el Angel del Señor,
22 And Manoah said to his wife, 'We are certain to die, because we have seen God.'	22 y dijo a su mujer: «¡Vamos a morir, porque hemos visto a Dios!»
23 His wife replied, 'If Yahweh had meant to kil us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering andoblation from us, he would not have let us see all this and, at the same time, have told us such things.'	23 Pero su mujer le respondió: «Si el Señor quisiera hacernos morir no habría aceptado de nuestras manos el holocausto y la oblación; tampoco nos habría mostrado todo esto, no nos habría comunicado una cosa así».
24 The woman gave birth to a son and cal ed him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him;	24 La mujer dio a luz un hijo y lo llamó Sansón. El niño creció y el Señor lo bendijo.
25 and the spirit of Yahweh began to stir him in the Camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.	25 Y el espíritu del Señor comenzó a actuar sobre él en el Campamento de Dan, entre Sorá y Estaol.
