1 John 5

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, and whoever loves the father loves the son.	1 - Chiunque crede che Gesù è il Cristo, è nato da Dio. E chiunque ama Colui che lo generò, ama anche colui che è nato da esso.
2 In this way we know that we love God's children, when we love God and keep his commandments.	2 Da questo conosciamo che amiamo i figliuoli di Dio, se amiamo Dio e osserviamo i suoi comandamenti.
3 This is what the love of God is: keeping his commandments. Nor are his commandments burdensome,	3 Poichè questo è amare Dio, che noi osserviamo i suoi comandamenti; e i suoi comandamenti non sono gravosi.
4 because every child of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world --our faith.	4 Poichè tutto quello che è nato da Dio, vince il mondo, e questa è la vittoria che vince il mondo, la fede nostra.
5 Who can overcome the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?	5 Chi è che vince il mondo, se non colui che crede che Gesù è il Figliuolo di Dio?
6 He it is who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with water alone but with water and blood, andit is the Spirit that bears witness, for the Spirit is Truth.	6 Questi è colui che è venuto con l'acqua e con il sangue, Gesù Cristo; non con l'acqua solo, ma con l'acqua e con il sangue. E lo spirito è quello che attesta che Cristo è verità.
7 So there are three witnesses,	7 Poichè sono tre che rendono testimonianza in cielo: il Padre, il Verbo e lo Spirito Santo; e questi tre sono una cosa sola.
8 the Spirit, water and blood; and the three of them coincide.	8 E sono tre che rendono testimonianza in terra: lo spirito, l'acqua e il sangue; e questi tre sono una cosa sola.
9 If we accept the testimony of human witnesses, God's testimony is greater, for this is God's testimonywhich he gave about his Son.	9 Se accettiamo la testimonianza degli uomini, la testimonianza di Dio è maggiore. Ora la testimonianza di Dio, che è maggiore è questa che Egli ha reso al suo Figliuolo.
10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him, and whoever does not believe ismaking God a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.	10 Chi crede nel Figliuol di Dio, ha in sè la testimonianza di Dio. Chi non crede al Figliuolo, tiene Dio per bugiardo, perchè non crede alla testimonianza che Dio ha reso al suo Figliuolo.
11 This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.	11 E la testimonianza è questa: che Dio ci ha dato la vita eterna. E questa vita è nel suo figliuolo.
12 Whoever has the Son has life, and whoever has not the Son of God has not life.	12 Chi ha il Figliuolo ha la vita; chi non ha il Figliuolo non ha la vita.
13 I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that youhave eternal life.	13 Vi scrivo queste cose, affinchè sappiate che avete la vita eterna voi, che credete nel nome del Figliuol di Dio.
14 Our fearlessness towards him consists in this, that if we ask anything in accordance with his wil hehears us.	14 E questa è la fiducia che noi abbiamo in Lui; che qualunque cosa chiederemo secondo la sua volontà, Egli ci esaudisce.
15 And if we know that he listens to whatever we ask him, we know that we already possess whatever wehave asked of him.	15 E sappiamo che ci esaudisce, qualunque cosa gli chiediamo; lo sappiamo perchè abbiamo l'effetto delle richieste a Lui fatte.
16 If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that is not a deadly sin, he has only to pray, and God wil givelife to this brother -- provided that it is not a deadly sin. There is sin that leads to death and I am not saying youmust pray about that.	16 Chi sa che il proprio fratello commette un peccato che non conduce a morte, chieda e sarà data la vita a quello che pecca non a morte. Vi è un peccato a morte: non dico che uno preghi per questo.
17 Every kind of wickedness is sin, but not al sin leads to death.	17 Ogni iniquità è peccato; e vi è peccato a morte.
18 We are wel aware that no one who is a child of God sins, because he who was born from Godprotects him, and the Evil One has no hold over him.	18 Sappiamo che chiunque è nato da Dio, non pecca; ma la divina generazione lo conserva e il maligno non lo tocca.
19 We are wel aware that we are from God, and the whole world is in the power of the Evil One.	19 Sappiamo che siamo [nati] da Dio: e tutto il mondo sta sotto al maligno.
20 We are wel aware also that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that wemay know the One who is true. We are in the One who is true as we are in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the trueGod and this is eternal life. Children, be on your guard against false gods.	20 E sappiamo che il Figliuol di Dio è venuto e ci ha dato la mente per conoscere il vero Dio, e siamo nel vero suo Figliuolo. Questi è il vero Dio e la vita eterna.
	21 Figliuolini, guardatevi dagli idoli! Amen.
