1 John 2

1 My children, I am writing this to prevent you from sinning; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocatewith the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright.	1 Figli miei, io vi scrivo queste cose affinché voi non pecchiate. Ma se qualcuno pecca, noi abbiamo come intercessore presso il Padre Gesù Cristo, che è giusto.
2 He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins, and not only ours, but also those of the whole world.	2 Egli è la propiziazione per i nostri peccati e non solo per i nostri, ma anche per quelli di tutto il mondo.
3 In this way we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.	3 Da questo noi sappiamo di conoscerlo: se osserviamo i suoi comandamenti.
4 Whoever says, 'I know him' without keeping his commandments, is a liar, and truth has no place in him.	4 Chi dice: "Lo conosco", ma non osserva i suoi comandamenti, è un mentitore e la verità non è in lui.
5 But anyone who does keep his word, in such a one God's love truly reaches its perfection. This is theproof that we are in God.	5 Invece se osserva la sua parola, veramente l'amore di Dio in lui è perfetto. Da ciò noi conosciamo di essere in lui.
6 Whoever claims to remain in him must act as he acted.	6 Chi dice di dimorare in lui deve comportarsi come egli si è comportato.
7 My dear friends, this is not a new commandment I am writing for you, but an old commandment that youhave had from the beginning; the old commandment is the message you have heard.	7 Carissimi, scrivendo non vi propongo un comandamento nuovo, ma un comandamento antico, che voi avevate fin dal principio. Il comandamento antico è la parola che voi avete ascoltata.
8 Yet in another way, I am writing a new commandment for you -- and this is true for you, just as much asfor him -- for darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.	8 Tuttavia è anche un comandamento nuovo che vi propongo scrivendovi. Ciò è vero in lui e in voi, poiché le tenebre ormai passano e già risplende la vera luce.
9 Whoever claims to be in light but hates his brother is still in darkness.	9 Chi afferma di essere nella luce e odia suo fratello è ancora nelle tenebre.
10 Anyone who loves his brother remains in light and there is in him nothing to make him fall away.	10 Chi ama il suo fratello dimora nella luce e in lui non vi è pericolo d'inciampo.
11 But whoever hates his brother is in darkness and is walking about in darkness not knowing where he isgoing, because darkness has blinded him.	11 Ma chi odia suo fratello è nelle tenebre e cammina nelle tenebre e non sa dove va, perché le tenebre hanno accecato i suoi occhi.
12 I am writing to you, children, because your sins have been forgiven through his name.	12 Scrivo a voi, o figli, che vi sono rimessi i peccati nel suo nome.
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know the One who has existed since thebeginning. I am writing to you, young people, because you have overcome the Evil One.	13 Scrivo a voi, o padri, che avete conosciuto colui che è dal principio. Scrivo a voi, o giovani, che avete vinto il maligno.
14 I have written to you, children, because you have come to know the Father. I have written to you,parents, because you have come to know the One who has existed since the beginning. I have written to you,young people, because you are strong, and God's word remains in you, and you have overcome the Evil One.	14 Scrivo a voi, o figlioli, che avete conosciuto il Padre. Scrivo a voi, o padri, che avete conosciuto colui che è dal principio. Scrivo a voi, o giovani, che siete forti e la parola di Dio dimora in voi e avete vinto il maligno.
15 Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father findsno place in him,	15 Non amate il mondo né ciò che vi è nel mondo. Se uno ama il mondo, in lui non c'è l'amore del Padre.
16 because everything there is in the world -- disordered bodily desires, disordered desires of the eyes,pride in possession -- is not from the Father but is from the world.	16 Poiché tutto ciò che vi è nel mondo, la concupiscenza della carne, la concupiscenza degli occhi, lo sfarzo della ricchezza, non è dal Padre ma dal mondo.
17 And the world, with al its disordered desires, is passing away. But whoever does the will of Godremains for ever.	17 Il mondo passa e così la sua concupiscenza; ma chi fa la volontà di Dio rimane in eterno.
18 Children, this is the final hour; you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and now many Antichristshave already come; from this we know that it is the final hour.	18 Figlioli, è l'ultima ora. Avete udito che l'anticristo deve venire, e ora molti anticristi sono già sopraggiunti; da ciò sappiamo che è l'ultima ora.
19 They have gone from among us, but they never real y belonged to us; if they had belonged to us, theywould have stayed with us. But this was to prove that not one of them belonged to us.	19 Essi sono usciti da noi, ma non erano dei nostri; se infatti fossero stati dei nostri, sarebbero rimasti con noi; ma doveva essere manifestato che tutti essi non sono dei nostri.
20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and have al received knowledge.	20 Ma voi avete l'unzione che viene dal Santo e avete tutti la scienza.
21 I have written to you not because you are ignorant of the truth, but because you are wel aware of it,and because no lie can come from the truth.	21 Non vi scrivo perché non conoscete la verità, ma perché avete conoscenza di essa e perché nessuna menzogna è dalla verità.
22 Who is the liar, if not one who claims that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the Antichrist, who deniesboth the Father and the Son.	22 E chi è il mentitore se non colui che nega che Gesù è il Cristo? Questi è l'anticristo, colui che nega il Padre e il Figlio.
23 Whoever denies the Son cannot have the Father either; whoever acknowledges the Son has theFather too.	23 Chiunque nega il Figlio non ha il Padre; chi confessa il Figlio ha il Padre.
24 Let what you heard in the beginning remain in you; as long as what you heard in the beginningremains in you, you will remain in the Son and in the Father.	24 Quanto a voi, rimanga in voi ciò che avete udito fin dal principio. Se in voi rimane quello che avete udito fin dal principio, anche voi rimarrete nel Figlio e nel Padre.
25 And the promise he made you himself is eternal life.	25 E' questa la promessa che egli ha fatto a noi: la vita eterna.
26 So much have I written to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.	26 Vi scrivo queste cose riguardo a coloro che tentano di ingannarvi.
27 But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone toteach you; since the anointing he gave you teaches you everything, and since it is true, not false, remain in himjust as he has taught you.	27 Quanto a voi, l'unzione che da lui avete ricevuto rimane in voi e non avete bisogno che qualcuno vi istruisca. Anzi la sua unzione vi istruisce su tutto ed essa è vera e non è menzogna; perciò, siccome egli vi ha istruito, rimanete in lui.
28 Therefore remain in him now, children, so that when he appears we may be fearless, and not shrinkfrom him in shame at his coming.	28 E ora, figli, rimanete in lui affinché noi, quando egli si manifesterà, abbiamo piena sicurezza, e alla sua venuta non siamo da lui coperti di vergogna.
29 If you know that he is upright you must recognise that everyone whose life is upright is a child of his.	29 Se voi conoscete che egli è giusto, sapete anche che chi opera la giustizia è da lui generato.
