1 John 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 My children, I am writing this to prevent you from sinning; but if anyone does sin, we have an advocatewith the Father, Jesus Christ, the upright.	1 Hijos míos, os escribo esto para que no pequéis. Pero si alguno peca, tenemos a uno que abogue ante el Padre: a Jesucristo, el Justo.
2 He is the sacrifice to expiate our sins, and not only ours, but also those of the whole world.	2 El es víctima de propiciación por nuestros pecados, no sólo por los nuestros, sino también por los del mundo entero.
3 In this way we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.	3 En esto sabemos que le conocemos: en que guardamos sus mandamientos.
4 Whoever says, 'I know him' without keeping his commandments, is a liar, and truth has no place in him.	4 Quien dice: «Yo le conozco» y no guarda sus mandamientos es un mentiroso y la verdad no está en él.
5 But anyone who does keep his word, in such a one God's love truly reaches its perfection. This is theproof that we are in God.	5 Pero quien guarda su Palabra, ciertamente en él el amor de Dios ha llegado a su plenitud. En esto conocemos que estamos en él.
6 Whoever claims to remain in him must act as he acted.	6 Quien dice que permanece en él, debe vivir como vivió él.
7 My dear friends, this is not a new commandment I am writing for you, but an old commandment that youhave had from the beginning; the old commandment is the message you have heard.	7 Queridos, no os escribo un mandamiento nuevo, sino el mandamiento antiguo, que tenéis desde el principio. Este mandamiento antiguo es la Palabra que habéis escuchado.
8 Yet in another way, I am writing a new commandment for you -- and this is true for you, just as much asfor him -- for darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.	8 Y sin embargo, os escribo un mandamiento nuevo - lo cual es verdadero en él y en vosotros - pues las tinieblas pasan y la luz verdadera brilla ya.
9 Whoever claims to be in light but hates his brother is still in darkness.	9 Quien dice que está en la luz y aborrece a su hermano, está aún en las tinieblas.
10 Anyone who loves his brother remains in light and there is in him nothing to make him fall away.	10 Quien ama a su hermano permanece en la luz y no tropieza.
11 But whoever hates his brother is in darkness and is walking about in darkness not knowing where he isgoing, because darkness has blinded him.	11 Pero quien aborrece a su hermano está en las tinieblas, camina en las tinieblas, no sabe a dónde va, porque las tinieblas han cegado sus ojos.
12 I am writing to you, children, because your sins have been forgiven through his name.	12 Os escribo a vosotros, hijos míos, porque se os han perdonado los pecados por su nombre.
13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know the One who has existed since thebeginning. I am writing to you, young people, because you have overcome the Evil One.	13 Os escribo a vosotros, padres, porque conocéis al que es desde el principio. Os escribo a vosotros, jóvenes, porque habéis vencido al Maligno.
14 I have written to you, children, because you have come to know the Father. I have written to you,parents, because you have come to know the One who has existed since the beginning. I have written to you,young people, because you are strong, and God's word remains in you, and you have overcome the Evil One.	14 Os he escrito a vosotros, hijos míos, porque conocéis al Padre, Os he escrito, padres, porque conocéis al que es desde el principio. Os he escrito, jóvenes, porque sois fuertes y la Palabra de Dios permanece en vosotros y habéis vencido al Maligno.
15 Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father findsno place in him,	15 No améis al mundo ni lo que hay en el mundo. Si alguien ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no está en él.
16 because everything there is in the world -- disordered bodily desires, disordered desires of the eyes,pride in possession -- is not from the Father but is from the world.	16 Puesto que todo lo que hay en el mundo - la concupiscencia de la carne, la concupiscencia de los ojos y la jactancia de las riquezas - no viene del Padre, sino del mundo.
17 And the world, with al its disordered desires, is passing away. But whoever does the will of Godremains for ever.	17 El mundo y sus concupiscencias pasan; pero quien cumple la voluntad de Dios permanece para siempre.
18 Children, this is the final hour; you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and now many Antichristshave already come; from this we know that it is the final hour.	18 Hijos míos, es la última hora. Habéis oído que iba a venir un Anticristo; pues bien, muchos anticristos han aparecido, por lo cual nos damos cuenta que es ya la última hora.
19 They have gone from among us, but they never real y belonged to us; if they had belonged to us, theywould have stayed with us. But this was to prove that not one of them belonged to us.	19 Salieron de entre nosotros; pero no eran de los nuestros. Si hubiesen sido de los nuestros, habrían permanecido con nosotros. Pero sucedió así para poner de manifiesto que no todos son de los nuestros.
20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and have al received knowledge.	20 En cuanto a vosotros, estáis ungidos por el Santo y todos vosotros lo sabéis.
21 I have written to you not because you are ignorant of the truth, but because you are wel aware of it,and because no lie can come from the truth.	21 Os he escrito, no porque desconozcáis la verdad, sino porque la conocéis y porque ninguna mentira viene de la verdad.
22 Who is the liar, if not one who claims that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the Antichrist, who deniesboth the Father and the Son.	22 ¿Quién es el mentiroso sino el que niega que Jesús es el Cristo? Ese es el Anticristo, el que niega al Padre y al Hijo.
23 Whoever denies the Son cannot have the Father either; whoever acknowledges the Son has theFather too.	23 Todo el que niega al Hijo tampoco posee al Padre. Quien confiesa al Hijo posee también al Padre.
24 Let what you heard in the beginning remain in you; as long as what you heard in the beginningremains in you, you will remain in the Son and in the Father.	24 En cuanto a vosotros, lo que habéis oído desde el principio permanezca en vosotros. Si permanece en vosotros lo que habéis oído desde el principio, también vosotros permaneceréis en el Hijo y en el Padre,
25 And the promise he made you himself is eternal life.	25 y esta es la promesa que él mismo os hizo: la vida eterna.
26 So much have I written to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.	26 Os he escrito esto respecto a los que tratan de engañaros.
27 But as for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone toteach you; since the anointing he gave you teaches you everything, and since it is true, not false, remain in himjust as he has taught you.	27 Y en cuanto a vosotros, la unción que de El habéis recibido permanece en vosotros y no necesitáis que nadie os enseñe. Pero como su unción os enseña acerca de todas las cosas - y es verdadera y no mentirosa - según os enseñó, permaneced el él.
28 Therefore remain in him now, children, so that when he appears we may be fearless, and not shrinkfrom him in shame at his coming.	28 Y ahora, hijos míos, permaneced en él para que, cuando se manifieste, tengamos plena confianza y no quedemos avergonzados lejos de él en su Venida.
29 If you know that he is upright you must recognise that everyone whose life is upright is a child of his.	29 Si sabéis que él es justo, reconoced que todo el que obra la justicia ha nacido de él.
