NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Well now, you rich! Lament, weep for the miseries that are coming to you.	1 Ustedes, los ricos, lloren y giman por las desgracias que les van a sobrevenir.
2 Your wealth is rotting, your clothes are al moth-eaten.	2 Porque sus riquezas se han echado a perder y sus vestidos están roídos por la polilla.
3 Al your gold and your silver are corroding away, and the same corrosion wil be a witness against youand eat into your body. It is like a fire which you have stored up for the final days.	3 Su oro y su plata se han herrumbrado, y esa herrumbre dará testimonio contra ustedes y devorará sus cuerpos como un fuego. ¡Ustedes han amontonado riquezas, ahora que es el tiempo final!
4 Can you hear crying out against you the wages which you kept back from the labourers mowing yourfields? The cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord Sabaoth.	4 Sepan que el salario que han retenido a los que trabajaron en sus campos está clamando, y el clamor de los cosechadores ha llegado a los oídos del Señor del universo.
5 On earth you have had a life of comfort and luxury; in the time of slaughter you went on eating to yourheart's content.	5 Ustedes llevaron en este mundo una vida de lujo y de placer, y se han cebado a sí mismos para el día de la matanza.
6 It was you who condemned the upright and killed them; they offered you no resistance.	6 Han condenado y han matado al justo, sin que él les opusiera resistencia.
7 Now be patient, brothers, until the Lord's coming. Think of a farmer: how patiently he waits for theprecious fruit of the ground until it has had the autumn rains and the spring rains!	7 Tengan paciencia, hermanos, hasta que llegue el Señor. Miren cómo el sembrador espera el fruto precioso de la tierra, aguardando pacientemente hasta que caigan las lluvias del otoño y de la primavera.
8 You too must be patient; do not lose heart, because the Lord's coming will be soon.	8 Tengan paciencia y anímense, porque la Venida del Señor está próxima.
9 Do not make complaints against one another, brothers, so as not to be brought to judgementyourselves; the Judge is already to be seen waiting at the gates.	9 Hermanos, no se quejen los unos de los otros, para no ser condenados. Miren que el Juez ya está a la puerta.
10 For your example, brothers, in patiently putting up with persecution, take the prophets who spoke inthe Lord's name;	10 Tomen como ejemplo de fortaleza y de paciencia a los profetas que hablaron en nombre del Señor.
11 remember it is those who had perseverance that we say are the blessed ones. You have heard of theperseverance of Job and understood the Lord's purpose, realising that the Lord is kind and compassionate.	11 Porque nosotros llamamos felices a los que sufrieron con paciencia. Ustedes oyeron hablar de la paciencia de Job, y saben lo que hizo el Señor con él, porque el Señor es compasivo y misericordioso.
12 Above al , my brothers, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or use any oaths at al . If you mean'yes', you must say 'yes'; if you mean 'no', say 'no'. Otherwise you make yourselves liable to judgement.	12 Pero ante todo, hermanos, no juren ni por el cielo, ni por la tierra, ni de ninguna manera: que cuando digan «sí», sea sí; y cuando digan «no», sea no, para no ser condenados.
13 Any one of you who is in trouble should pray; anyone in good spirits should sing a psalm.	13 Si alguien está afligido, que ore. Si está alegre, que cante salmos.
14 Any one of you who is il should send for the elders of the church, and they must anoint the sickperson with oil in the name of the Lord and pray over him.	14 Si está enfermo, que llame a los presbíteros de la Iglesia, para que oren por él y lo unjan con óleo en el nombre del Señor.
15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord wil raise him up again; and if he hascommitted any sins, he wil be forgiven.	15 La oración que nace de la fe salvará al enfermo, el Señor lo aliviará, y si tuviera pecados, le serán perdonados.
16 So confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another to be cured; the heartfelt prayer ofsomeone upright works very powerful y.	16 Confiesen mutuamente sus pecados y oren los unos por los otros, para ser curados. La oración perseverante del justo es poderosa.
17 Elijah was a human being as frail as ourselves -- he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain felfor three and a half years;	17 Elías era un hombre como nosotros, y sin embargo, cuando oró con insistencia para que no lloviera, no llovió sobre la tierra durante tres años y seis meses.
18 then he prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth gave crops.	18 Después volvió a orar; entonces el cielo dio la lluvia, y la tierra produjo frutos.
19 My brothers, if one of you strays away from the truth, and another brings him back to it,	19 Hermanos míos, si uno de ustedes se desvía de la verdad y otro lo hace volver,
20 he may be sure that anyone who can bring back a sinner from his erring ways wil be saving his soulfrom death and covering over many a sin.	20 sepan que el que hace volver a un pecador de su mal camino salvará su vida de la muerte y obtendrá el perdón de numerosos pecados.
