1 Well now, you rich! Lament, weep for the miseries that are coming to you.	1 À votre tour maintenant, vous les riches. Lamentez-vous et pleurez car vos malheurs sont près d’arriver!
2 Your wealth is rotting, your clothes are al moth-eaten.	2 Les vers se sont mis dans vos réserves: les vêtements sont mangés des mites,
3 Al your gold and your silver are corroding away, and the same corrosion wil be a witness against youand eat into your body. It is like a fire which you have stored up for the final days.	3 même votre or et votre argent se sont rouillés. Cette rouille vous accuse et comme un feu dévore vos chairs. Oui, les derniers temps étaient déjà là et vous vouliez des richesses!
4 Can you hear crying out against you the wages which you kept back from the labourers mowing yourfields? The cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord Sabaoth.	4 La paye des ouvriers qui ont moissonné vos champs, vous l’avez retenue, voilà qu’elle crie. Les clameurs de vos moissonneurs sont arrivées aux oreilles du Seigneur Sabaot.
5 On earth you have had a life of comfort and luxury; in the time of slaughter you went on eating to yourheart's content.	5 Vous meniez sur cette terre une vie de plaisirs et de luxe, et vous étiez tranquilles pendant qu’on massacrait.
6 It was you who condemned the upright and killed them; they offered you no resistance.	6 Vous condamniez les hommes justes, vous les faisiez tuer, et ils ne pouvaient rien contre vous.
7 Now be patient, brothers, until the Lord's coming. Think of a farmer: how patiently he waits for theprecious fruit of the ground until it has had the autumn rains and the spring rains!	7 Frères, sachez attendre le jour où viendra le Seigneur. Voyez comment le cultivateur reçoit les précieux fruits de la terre: il les attend jusqu’à ce que viennent les premières et les dernières pluies.
8 You too must be patient; do not lose heart, because the Lord's coming will be soon.	8 Vous aussi sachez attendre sans perdre cœur car la visite du Seigneur n’est plus loin.
9 Do not make complaints against one another, brothers, so as not to be brought to judgementyourselves; the Judge is already to be seen waiting at the gates.	9 Ne vous plaignez pas les uns des autres car vous seriez jugés pour cela et le juge est déjà là, à la porte.
10 For your example, brothers, in patiently putting up with persecution, take the prophets who spoke inthe Lord's name;	10 Frères, voyez ce qu’ont souffert les prophètes qui parlaient au nom du Seigneur, voyez leur patience: qu’ils soient vos modèles.
11 remember it is those who had perseverance that we say are the blessed ones. You have heard of theperseverance of Job and understood the Lord's purpose, realising that the Lord is kind and compassionate.	11 Nous proclamons heureux ceux qui persévèrent. On vous a parlé de la patience de Job et vous savez ce que le Seigneur a fait tout à la fin. C’est que le Seigneur est plein de tendresse et bonté.
12 Above al , my brothers, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or use any oaths at al . If you mean'yes', you must say 'yes'; if you mean 'no', say 'no'. Otherwise you make yourselves liable to judgement.	12 Frères, quelque chose de très important: ne jurez ni par le ciel, ni par la terre ou quoi que ce soit. Mais que votre oui soit un oui et votre non un non. Autrement vous seriez en faute.
13 Any one of you who is in trouble should pray; anyone in good spirits should sing a psalm.	13 Si l’un de vous se sent abattu, qu’il prie. Si un autre se sent en forme, qu’il chante au Seigneur.
14 Any one of you who is il should send for the elders of the church, and they must anoint the sickperson with oil in the name of the Lord and pray over him.	14 Si l’un de vous est malade, qu’il fasse venir les Anciens de l’Église. Ils prieront pour lui et lui feront l’onction d’huile au nom du Seigneur.
15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord wil raise him up again; and if he hascommitted any sins, he wil be forgiven.	15 Cette prière faite avec foi sauvera la personne alitée et le Seigneur la relèvera. Et si cette personne a commis quelque faute, elle lui sera pardonnée.
16 So confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another to be cured; the heartfelt prayer ofsomeone upright works very powerful y.	16 Reconnaissez donc vos fautes les uns devant les autres, et priez les uns pour les autres, de façon que vous receviez la guérison. Car la prière des justes est pleine d’efficacité.
17 Elijah was a human being as frail as ourselves -- he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain felfor three and a half years;	17 Élie était homme et mortel tout comme nous, mais quand il a prié pour demander qu’il n’y ait plus de pluie, la pluie a cessé durant trois années et six mois.
18 then he prayed again and the sky gave rain and the earth gave crops.	18 Puis il a prié et le ciel a donné la pluie, la terre a refleuri et porté fruit.
19 My brothers, if one of you strays away from the truth, and another brings him back to it,	19 Frères, si l’un de vous s’est égaré loin de la vérité et qu’un autre le fasse revenir,
20 he may be sure that anyone who can bring back a sinner from his erring ways wil be saving his soulfrom death and covering over many a sin.	20 sachez-le bien: celui qui a ramené le pécheur de son chemin trompeur a sauvé une âme de la mort, il a fait oublier beaucoup de péchés.
