1 When Jabin king of Hazor heard about this, he sent word to Jobab king of Merom, to the king ofShimron, to the king of Achshaph	1 Jabin, król Chasoru, usłyszawszy o tym, powiadomił Jobaba, króla Madonu, króla Szimronu, króla Akszafu
2 and to the kings in the northern highlands, in the plain south of Chinneroth, and those in the lowlandsand on the slopes of Dor to the west.	2 i królów zamieszkałych na północy, w górach i na równinie, na południu od Kinneret, w Szefeli i na wyżynach Doru na zachodzie,
3 To eastward and to westward lived the Canaanites: in the highlands, the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzitesand Jebusites; the Hivites, at the foot of Hermon in the area of Mizpah.	3 Kananejczyków na wschodzie i na zachodzie, Amorytów, Chetytów, Peryzzytów, Jebusytów na górze i Chiwwitów u stóp Hermonu w krainie Mispa.

5 These kings, having al agreed on a meeting place, came and set up camp together at the Waters ofMerom, to fight Israel.	5 Wszyscy ci królowie umówiwszy się przybyli i zajęli stanowiska nad wodami Merom, aby walczyć z Izraelem.
6 Yahweh then said to Joshua, 'Do not be afraid of them, for by this time tomorrow I shal hand them alover, cut to pieces, to Israel; you will hamstring their horses and burn their chariots.'	6 I rzekł Pan do Jozuego: Nie bój się ich, albowiem jutro o tej porze sprawię, że oni wszyscy padną zabici przed Izraelem. Konie ich okulawisz, a rydwany ich spalisz.
7 With al his warriors Joshua caught them unawares near the Waters of Merom and fel on them.	7 Jozue wraz z całym swym zbrojnym ludem przybył niespodzianie nad wody Meromu i rzucił się na nich.
8 Yahweh put them at Israel's mercy and they defeated them and pursued them as far as Sidon theGreat, and as far as Misrephoth to the west, and as far as the Vale of Mizpah to the east; they harried them untilnot one of them was left alive.	8 Pan wydał ich w ręce Izraela. Rozbili ich i ścigali aż do Sydonu Wielkiego i aż do Misrefot-Maim i do doliny Mispa na wschodzie. Rozgromiono ich całkowicie, tak że nikt nie ocalał.
9 Joshua treated them as Yahweh had told him; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots.	9 Jozue postąpił z nimi, jak Pan mu rozkazał: konie ich okulawił, a rydwany spalił.
10 Joshua then turned back and captured Hazor, putting its king to the sword. Hazor in olden days wasthe capital of all these kingdoms.	10 W tym samym czasie Jozue cofnął się i zdobył Chasor, a króla jego zabił mieczem; Chasor było niegdyś stolicą wszystkich tych królestw.
11 In compliance with the curse of destruction, they put every living creature there to the sword. Not aliving soul was left, and Hazor was burnt to the ground.	11 Ostrzem miecza pobili wszystko co żywe, obłożywszy klątwą. Nie pozostawiono żadnej żywej duszy, a Chasor spalono.
12 Al these royal cities and al their kings Joshua put to the sword in compliance with the curse ofdestruction, as Moses, servant of Yahweh, had ordered.	12 Wszystkie miasta tych królów i samych ich królów zwyciężył Jozue i zdobył ostrzem miecza, obłożywszy ich klątwą, jak rozkazał Mojżesz, sługa Pana.

14 Al the spoils of these towns, including the livestock, the Israelites took as booty for themselves. Butthey put al the human beings to the sword til they had destroyed them completely; they did not leave a livingsoul.	14 Całą zdobycz tych miast i bydło podzielili Izraelici pomiędzy siebie, lecz wszystkich ludzi zgładzili ostrzem miecza doszczętnie, nie zostawiając żadnej żywej duszy.
15 What Yahweh had ordered his servant Moses, Moses in turn had ordered Joshua, and Joshuacarried it out, leaving nothing undone of what Yahweh had ordered Moses.	15 To, co Pan rozkazał słudze swemu Mojżeszowi, a Mojżesz rozkazał Jozuemu, Jozue wykonał, niczego nie zaniedbując z tego wszystkiego, co rozkazał Pan Mojżeszowi.
16 In consequence, Joshua captured this entire country: the highlands, the whole Negeb and the wholeof Goshen, the lowlands, the Arabah, the highlands and lowlands of Israel.	16 I opanował Jozue cały ten kraj: góry, cały Negeb, całą krainę Goszen, Szefelę, Arabę, góry izraelskie i ich równiny.
17 From Mount Halak, which rises towards Seir, to Baal-Gad in the Vale of Lebanon at the foot of MountHermon, he captured al their kings, struck them down and put them to death.	17 Od góry Chalak, wznoszącej się ku Seirowi, aż do Baal-Gad w dolinie Libanu, u stóp góry Hermon. A wszystkich ich królów zwyciężył i skazał na śmierć.
18 For many a day Joshua made war on al these kings;	18 Przez długi czas Jozue walczył z tymi wszystkimi królami.
19 no city had made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites who lived at Gibeon; al the rest hadbeen captured in battle.	19 Żadne miasto nie zawarło pokoju z Izraelitami prócz Chiwwitów mieszkających w Gibeonie. Wszystkie zostały zdobyte zbrojnie.
20 For Yahweh had decided to harden the hearts of these men, so that they would engage Israel inbattle and thus come under the curse of destruction and so receive no quarter but be exterminated, as Yahwehhad ordered Moses.	20 Taki był zamiar Pana, który uczynił upartymi ich serca, tak że prowadzili wojnę z Izraelem i popadli pod klątwę bez miłosierdzia aż do wyniszczenia, jak rozkazał Pan Mojżeszowi.
21 Joshua then went and wiped out the Anakim of the highlands, of Hebron, of Debir, of Anab, of all thehighlands of Judah and of all the highlands of Israel; he delivered them and their towns over to the curse ofdestruction.	21 W owym czasie Jozue w walce zwyciężył Anakitów z gór, z Hebronu, z Debiru, z Anab i ze wszystkich gór judzkich, i ze wszystkich gór izraelskich. Na nich wszystkich wraz z ich miastami Jozue rzucił klątwę.
22 No Anakim were left in the territory of the Israelites, except at Gaza, Gath and Ashdod.	22 Anakici nie pozostali już w kraju Izraelitów, z wyjątkiem Gazy, Gat i Aszdodu.
23 Joshua captured the entire country, just as Yahweh had told Moses, and he gave it as heritage toIsrael, to be shared out between their tribes. And the country had rest from warfare.	23 Jozue zawładnął całym kraje według polecenia Pana, danego Mojżeszowi, a następnie oddał go Jozue w posiadanie Izraelowi, dzieląc odpowiednio do ich podziału na pokolenia. I kraj zaznał pokoju od wojny.
