2 Corinthians 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves to you afresh -- as though we needed, like some others, tohave letters of commendation either to you or from you?	1 Ancora cominciamo di lodare noi medesimi? or sonci bisogno, secondo che alquanti bisognano, lettere (epistole) di lode a voi o da voi?
2 You yourselves are our letter, written in our hearts, that everyone can read and understand;	2 Chè voi siete la nostra epistola, scritta nelli nostri cuori, la quale si sa e leggesi da tutti gli uomini.
3 and it is plain that you are a letter from Christ, entrusted to our care, written not with ink but with theSpirit of the living God; not on stone tablets but on the tablets of human hearts.	3 Dico di voi, che siete manifestati, e siete la epistola di Dio, ministrata da noi e scritta, non con inchiostro, ma con spirito di Dio vivo; non in tavole di pietra, ma in tavole di cuore carnale.
4 Such is the confidence we have through Christ in facing God;	4 Ma tale fidanza avemo a Dio per Cristo;
5 it is not that we are so competent that we can claim any credit for ourselves; al our competence comesfrom God.	5 non che siamo sufficienti di pensare alcuna cosa da noi, come per noi; ma la nostra sufficienza è da Dio.
6 He has given us the competence to be ministers of a new covenant, a covenant which is not of writtenletters, but of the Spirit; for the written letters kill, but the Spirit gives life.	6 Il quale fece noi convenevoli amministratori del nuovo testamento, non già per la lettera, ma per il Spirito; imperò che la lettera uccide, e il Spirito vivifica.
7 Now if the administering of death, engraved in letters on stone, occurred in such glory that the Israelitescould not look Moses steadily in the face, because of its glory, transitory though this glory was,	7 Ma se la ministrazione della morte, designata con lettere in pietre, fu in gloria, sì che li figliuoli d' Israel non poteano riguardare nella faccia di Moisè per la gloria del suo volto, la quale gloria invanì (e tornò a niente);
8 how much more will the ministry of the Spirit occur in glory!	8 come non più maggiormente la ministrazione del Spirito sarà in gloria?
9 For if it is glorious to administer condemnation, to administer saving justice is far richer in glory.	9 Chè se la ministrazione della dannazione è in gloria, molto maggiormente abbonda il ministerio (e il servigio) della giustizia in gloria.
10 Indeed, what was once considered glorious has lost al claim to glory, by contrast with the glory whichtranscends it.	10 Chè non è glorificato ciò ch' è manifesto in in questa parte, per la soprastante gloria.
11 For if what was transitory had any glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts for ever.	11 Certo se quella cosa, ch' è invanita, è in gloria; molto maggiormente quella cosa, che resta, è in gloria.
12 With a hope like this, we can speak with complete fearlessness;	12 Adunque noi che avemo questa speranza, usiamo con molta fiducia.
13 not like Moses who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites should not watch the end of what wastransitory.	13 E non poniamo, secondo che Moisè ponea sopra la sua faccia, la copertura, sì che li figliuoli d'Israel non poteano riguardare nella sua faccia.
14 But their minds were closed; indeed, until this very day, the same veil remains over the reading of theOld Testament: it is not lifted, for only in Christ is it done away with.	14 E così insino qui son coperti li sensi di coloro. E quella medesima copertura è ancora sopra la lezione della legge vecchia, la quale non è palesata; imperò che in Cristo è evacuata (e invanita).
15 As it is, to this day, whenever Moses is read, their hearts are covered with a veil,	15 Ma insino al di d' oggi si è la copertura sopra i cuori di questi figliuoli d' Israel, (che) quando si legge il libro di Moisè (non lo possono intendere); chè egli credono in Cristo.
16 and this veil wil not be taken away til they turn to the Lord.	16 Ma quando ritorneranno a Dio, allora sarà levata la copertura (di sopra alli cuori loro).
17 Now this Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.	17 Il Signore è Spirito; e dovunque è il Spirito del Signore, ivi è (franchezza e) libertà.
18 And al of us, with our unveiled faces like mirrors reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformedinto the image that we reflect in brighter and brighter glory; this is the working of the Lord who is the Spirit.	18 E noi tutti con faccia scoperta vedendo. con chiarezza la gloria del Signore, siamo trasformati in quella medesima imagine di chiarezza in chiarezza, così come dal Spirito del Signere.
