1 Corinthians 13

1 Though I command languages both human and angelic -- if I speak without love, I am no more than agong booming or a cymbal clashing.	1 אִם־בִּלְשֹׁנוֹת אֲנָשִׁים וּמַלְאָכִים אֲדַבֵּר וְאֵין בִּי הָאַהֲבָה הָיִיתִי כִּנְחשֶׁת הֹמָה אוֹ כְּצִלְצַל תְּרוּעָה
2 And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate al mysteries and knowledge, and though Ihave all the faith necessary to move mountains -- if I am without love, I am nothing.	2 וְכִי תִהְיֶה־לִּי נְבוּאָה וְאֵדַע כָּל־הַסּוֹדוֹת וְכָל־הַדָּעַת וְכִי תִהְיֶה־לִּי כָּל־הָאֱמוּנָה עַד כִּי־אַעְתִּיק הָרִים וְאֵין־בִּי הָאַהֲבָה הָיִיתִי כְּאָיִן
3 Though I should give away to the poor al that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned -- if Iam without love, it wil do me no good whatever.	3 וְאִם־אֲחַלֵּק אֶת־כָּל־הוֹנִי וְאִם־אֶתֵּן אֶת־גּוּפִי לִשְׂרֵפָה וְאֵין־בִּי הָאַהֲבָה כָּל־זֹאת לֹא תוֹעִילֵנִי
4 Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited,	4 הָאַהֲבָה מַאֲרֶכֶת־אַף וְעֹשָׂה חָסֶד הָאַהֲבָה לֹא תְקַנֵּא הָאַהֲבָה לֹא תִתְפָּאֵר וְלֹא תִתְרוֹמָם
5 it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances.	5 לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה דְּבַר־תִּפְלָה וְלֹא תְבַקֵּשׁ אֵת אֲשֶׁר־לָהּ וְלֹא תִתְמַרְמַר וְלֹא תַחֲשֹׁב הָרָעָה
6 Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth.	6 לֹא תִשְׂמַח בָּעַוְלָה כִּי שִׂמְחָתָהּ עִם־הָאֱמֶת
7 It is always ready to make al owances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.	7 אֶת־כֹּל תִּשָּׂא אֶת־כֹּל תַּאֲמִין אֶת־כֹּל תְּקַוֶּה וְאֶת־כֹּל תִּסְבֹּל
8 Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, theywil fall silent; and if knowledge, it wil be done away with.	8 הָאַהֲבָה לֹא־תִבֹּל לְעוֹלָם אַךְ־הַנְּבוּאוֹת הֵנָּה תִבָּטַלְנָה וְהַלְּשֹׁנוֹת תִּכְלֶינָה וְהַדַּעַת תִּבָּטֵל
9 For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly;	9 כִּי־קְצָת הוּא שֶׁיָּדָעְנוּ וּקְצָת הוּא שֶׁנִּבֵּאנוּ
10 but once perfection comes, al imperfect things wil be done away with.	10 וּכְבוֹא הַתָּמִים אָז עָבוֹר תַּעֲבֹר הַקְּצָת
11 When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child;but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with al childish ways.	11 כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיִיתִי עוֹלֵל כְּעוֹלֵל דִּבַּרְתִּי כְּעוֹלֵל הָגִיתִי כְּעוֹלֵל חָשָׁבְתִּי וְכַאֲשֶׁר הָיִיתִי לְאִישׁ הֲסִירֹתִי דִּבְרֵי הָעוֹלֵל
12 Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shal be seeing face to face. Now Ican know only imperfectly; but then I shal know just as fully as I am myself known.	12 כִּי כָעֵת מַבִּיטִים אֲנַחְנוּ בְּמַרְאָה וּבְחִידוֹת וְאָז פָּנִים אֶל־פָּנִים כָּעֵת יוֹדֵעַ אֲנִי קְצָתוֹ וְאָז כַּאֲשֶׁר נוֹדַעְתִּי אֵדַע אַף־אָנִי
13 As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.	13 וְעַתָּה שְׁלָשׁ־אֵלֶּה תַעֲמֹדְנָה הָאֱמוּנָה וְהַתִּקְוָה וְהָאַהֲבָה וְהַגְּדוֹלָה בָהֶן הִיא הָאַהֲבָה
