1 Though I command languages both human and angelic -- if I speak without love, I am no more than agong booming or a cymbal clashing.	1 - Se io parlassi le lingue degli uomini e degli angeli, e non avessi amore, non sarei che un bronzo risonante, o un cembalo squillante.
2 And though I have the power of prophecy, to penetrate al mysteries and knowledge, and though Ihave all the faith necessary to move mountains -- if I am without love, I am nothing.	2 E se avessi il dono della profezia, e conoscessi tutti i misteri e tutta la scienza, e se avessi tutta la fede, sì da trasportar le montagne, e poi mancassi di amore, non sarei nulla.
3 Though I should give away to the poor al that I possess, and even give up my body to be burned -- if Iam without love, it wil do me no good whatever.	3 E se anche sbocconcellassi a favor dei poveri tutto quel che ho, e dessi il mio corpo per esser arso, e non avessi amore, non ne avrei alcun giovamento.
4 Love is always patient and kind; love is never jealous; love is not boastful or conceited,	4 L'amore è longanime, è benigno; l'amore non ha invidia; non agisce invano; non si gonfia;
5 it is never rude and never seeks its own advantage, it does not take offence or store up grievances.	5 non è ambizioso; non è egoista, non s'irrita, non pensa il male;
6 Love does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but finds its joy in the truth.	6 non si compiace dell'ingiustizia, ma gode della verità;
7 It is always ready to make al owances, to trust, to hope and to endure whatever comes.	7 soffre ogni cosa, ogni cosa crede, tutto spera, tutto sopporta.
8 Love never comes to an end. But if there are prophecies, they will be done away with; if tongues, theywil fall silent; and if knowledge, it wil be done away with.	8 L'amore non mai vien meno; sian le profezie, termineranno; sian le lingue, cesseranno; sia la scienza, finirà in nulla,
9 For we know only imperfectly, and we prophesy imperfectly;	9 poichè parzialmente conosciamo e parzialmente profetiamo,
10 but once perfection comes, al imperfect things wil be done away with.	10 ma quando venga ciò che è perfetto, il parzialmente finirà.
11 When I was a child, I used to talk like a child, and see things as a child does, and think like a child;but now that I have become an adult, I have finished with al childish ways.	11 Quand'ero bambino, parlavo come bambino, pensavo come bambino, ragionavo come bambino; ma fatto uomo, ho cessato i costumi del bambino.
12 Now we see only reflections in a mirror, mere riddles, but then we shal be seeing face to face. Now Ican know only imperfectly; but then I shal know just as fully as I am myself known.	12 In questo momento noi vediamo traverso uno specchio in enigma, allora vedremo faccia a faccia; ora io conosco parzialmente, allora conoscerò per intiero, come anch'io sono stato conosciuto.
13 As it is, these remain: faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.	13 Ora soltanto queste tre cose perdurano, fede, speranza e amore, ma la più grande di tutte è l'amore.
