NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle,	1 Carta de Pablo, servidor de Jesucristo, llamado el Apóstol, y elegido para anunciar la Buena Noticia de Dios,
2 set apart for the service of the gospel that God promised long ago through his prophets in the holyscriptures.	2 que él había prometido por medio de sus Profetas en las Sagradas Escrituras,
3 This is the gospel concerning his Son who, in terms of human nature	3 acerca de su Hijo, Jesucristo, nuestro Señor, nacido de la estirpe de David según la carne,
4 was born a descendant of David and who, in terms of the Spirit and of holiness, was designated Son ofGod in power by resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ, our Lord,	4 y constituido Hijo de Dios con poder según el Espíritu santificador por su resurrección de entre los muertos.
5 through whom we have received grace and our apostolic mission of winning the obedience of faithamong all the nations for the honour of his name.	5 Por él hemos recibido la gracia y la misión apostólica, a fin de conducir a la obediencia de la fe, para la gloria de su Nombre, a todos los pueblos paganos,
6 You are among these, and by his cal you belong to Jesus Christ.	6 entre los cuales se encuentran también ustedes, que han sido llamados por Jesucristo.
7 To you al , God's beloved in Rome, cal ed to be his holy people. Grace and peace from God our Fatherand the Lord Jesus Christ.	7 A todos los que están en Roma, amados de Dios, llamados a ser santos, llegue la gracia y la paz, que proceden de Dios, nuestro Padre, y el Señor Jesucristo.
8 First I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for al of you because your faith is talked of al overthe world.	8 En primer lugar, doy gracias a mi Dios por medio de Jesucristo, a causa de todos ustedes, porque su fe es alabada en el mundo entero.
9 God, whom I serve with my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness that I continuallymention you in my prayers,	9 Dios, a quien tributo un culto espiritual anunciando la Buena Noticia de su Hijo, es testigo de que yo los recuerdo constantemente,
10 asking always that by some means I may at long last be enabled to visit you, if it is God's will.	10 pidiendo siempre en mis oraciones que pueda encontrar, si Dios quiere, la ocasión favorable para ir a visitarlos.
11 For I am longing to see you so that I can convey to you some spiritual gift that will be a lastingstrength,	11 Porque tengo un gran deseo de verlos, a fin de comunicarlos algún don del Espíritu que los fortalezca,
12 or rather that we may be strengthened together through our mutual faith, yours and mine.	12 mejor dicho, a fin de que nos reconfortemos unos a otros, por la fe que tenemos en común.
13 I want you to be quite certain too, brothers, that I have often planned to visit you -- though up to thepresent I have always been prevented -- in the hope that I might work as fruitfully among you as I have amongthe gentiles elsewhere.	13 Hermanos, quiero que sepan que muchas veces intenté visitarlos para recoger algún fruto también entre ustedes, como lo he recogido en otros pueblos paganos; pero hasta ahora no he podido hacerlo.
14 I have an obligation to Greeks as wel as barbarians, to the educated as wel as the ignorant,	14 Yo me debo tanto a los griegos como a los que no lo son, a los sabios como a los ignorantes.
15 and hence the eagerness on my part to preach the gospel to you in Rome too.	15 De ahí mi ardiente deseo de anunciarles la Buena Noticia también a ustedes, los que habitan en Roma.
16 For I see no reason to be ashamed of the gospel; it is God's power for the salvation of everyone whohas faith -- Jews first, but Greeks as well-	16 Yo no me avergüenzo del Evangelio, porque es el poder de Dios para la salvación de todos los que creen: de los judíos en primer lugar, y después de los que no lo son.
17 for in it is revealed the saving justice of God: a justice based on faith and addressed to faith. As itsays in scripture: Anyone who is upright through faith will live.	17 En el Evangelio se revela la justicia de Dios, por la fe y para la fe, conforme a lo que dice la Escritura: El justo vivirá por la fe.
18 The retribution of God from heaven is being revealed against the ungodliness and injustice of humanbeings who in their injustice hold back the truth.	18 En efecto, la ira de Dios se revela desde el cielo contra la impiedad y la injusticia de los hombres, que por su injusticia retienen prisionera la verdad.
19 For what can be known about God is perfectly plain to them, since God has made it plain to them:	19 Porque todo cuanto de se puede conocer acerca de Dios está patente ante ellos: Dios mismo se lo dio a conocer,
20 ever since the creation of the world, the invisible existence of God and his everlasting power havebeen clearly seen by the mind's understanding of created things. And so these people have no excuse:	20 ya que sus atributos invisibles –su poder eterno y su divinidad– se hacen visibles a los ojos de la inteligencia, desde la creación del mundo, por medio de sus obras. Por lo tanto, aquellos no tienen ninguna excusa.
21 they knew God and yet they did not honour him as God or give thanks to him, but their argumentsbecame futile and their uncomprehending minds were darkened.	21 en efecto, habiendo conocido a Dios, no lo glorificaron ni le dieron gracias como corresponde. Por el contrario, se extraviaron en vanos razonamientos y su mente insensata quedó en la oscuridad.
22 While they claimed to be wise, in fact they were growing so stupid	22 Haciendo alarde de sabios se convirtieron en necios,
23 that they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an imitation, for the image of a mortal humanbeing, or of birds, or animals, or crawling things.	23 y cambiaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible por imágenes que representan a hombres corruptibles, aves, cuadrúpedos y reptiles.
24 That is why God abandoned them in their inmost cravings to filthy practices of dishonouring their ownbodies-	24 Por eso, dejándolos abandonados a los deseos de su corazón, Dios los entregó a una impureza que deshonraba sus propios cuerpos,
25 because they exchanged God's truth for a lie and have worshipped and served the creature insteadof the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.	25 ya que han sustituido la verdad de Dios por la mentira, adorando y sirviendo a las criaturas en lugar del Creador, que es bendito eternamente. Amén.
26 That is why God abandoned them to degrading passions:	26 Por eso, Dios los entregó también a pasiones vergonzosas: sus mujeres cambiaron las relaciones naturales por otras contrarias a la naturaleza.
27 why their women have exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural practices; and the men, in asimilar fashion, too, giving up normal relations with women, are consumed with passion for each other, mendoing shameful things with men and receiving in themselves due reward for their perversion.	27 Del mismo modo, los hombres dejando la relación natural con la mujer, ardieron en deseos los unos por los otros, teniendo relaciones deshonestas entre ellos y recibiendo en sí mismos la retribución merecida por su extravío.
28 In other words, since they would not consent to acknowledge God, God abandoned them to theirunacceptable thoughts and indecent behaviour.	28 Y como no se preocuparon por reconocer a Dios, él los entregó a su mente depravada para que hicieran lo que no se debe.
29 And so now they are steeped in al sorts of injustice, rottenness, greed and malice; full of envy,murder, wrangling, treachery and spite,	29 Están llenos de toda clase de injusticia, iniquidad, ambición y maldad; colmados de envidia, crímenes, peleas, engaños, depravación, difamaciones.
30 libel ers, slanderers, enemies of God, rude, arrogant and boastful, enterprising in evil, rebellious toparents,	30 Son detractores, enemigos de Dios, insolentes, arrogantes, vanidosos, hábiles para el mal, rebeldes con sus padres,
31 without brains, honour, love or pity.	31 insensatos, desleales, insensibles, despiadados.
32 They are well aware of God's ordinance: that those who behave like this deserve to die -- yet they notonly do it, but even applaud others who do the same.	32 Y a pesar de que conocen el decreto de Dios, que declara dignos de muerte a los que hacen estas cosas, no sólo las practican, sino que también aprueban a los que las hacen.
